Yeah I think they missed a trick not releasing physical singles for all their singles since the come back tbh. I think they would have been pretty good physical sellers and maybe we would have seen some chart on the lower ends of the charts.

Completly agree, it was a missed opportunity not doing any physicals.

RSD is a big source of promo though that is why artists do it. Record stores that would also never stock certain artists do for that week. It also causes panic and makes fans feel like they have to get it or they will miss out.
Not sure anything being #17 on the physical singles chart for one week thanks to a record store day tie in gives any real indication of what a single physical sold on an artists store would do. Perrie managed onky what 1.3k cds, she has you would think a bigger following than Steps and a big major label behind her too. |

With perrie though wasn't it a case where not all her cds shipped?
For a lead single I think steps could move 2k physicals easily. |

Me too! Even a climb in the physical chart! I’m very curious what its current total is.

Also up from #16 to #7 in the vinyl singles chart, nice!
Surprising climb though. Maybe late shipments? Some stores get overwhelmed when it comes to shipping the online sales on time. Although you'd think that would apply across the many different releases and therefore not result in a climb for Steps. However it was achieved, well done to them! |

Steps are big physical sellers even today, the majority of their sales are physicals which is why their sales are quite front loaded and why they are one of the acts that plays the physicals game with their albums. Even just selling on their own site and through Amazon / HMV I reckon they would sell a decent amount of physicals to their collectors, they could certainly upprice them and get a profit from it, then if they get a chart placing off the back of it then even better if not, nothing lost. |
