that's a very select list and shows how difficult it is to be huge on both singles and albums. There's some obvious acts missing surprisingly - no Michael Jackson! No Take That, Bee Gees (though I suspect Saturday Night Fever/Night Fever might have done it were it an artist album) and Whitney ditto (Bodyguard soundtrack) but my memory might be faulty there...!

These are only acts who have done so on more than one occasion which may explain why a few of those don't appear.
It's an interesting list. I think Taylor Swift should be there already with 3 weeks over 2 separate occasions: 2 weeks in 2022 + 1 week in 2023. |

What an interesting list! Shocking to see T-Rex on there but not the likes of That That!

You are right, Saturday Night Fever's first week at No 1 in May 1978 was also the second of Night Fever's 2 weeks at No 1. Whitney Houston 1 occasion 1 week This post has been edited by Tuttavilla: 24th April 2024, 02:30 PM |

Thank you kind man, I was celebrating my 70th that week, not an excuse really... |

Charts are just all about timing really. VB woulda got the double if zhe relessed album and single in 2000 vs A1's Take On Me week or against Madonna's week etc. But one wrong move and you lose it all in music.

On Friday, Tylor Swift will achieve the UK 'Double Top' for the 3rd time. That is for the UK Charts of W/E 2nd May. I get 28 Acts that have achieved it more than once. Taylor is the 16th Act to manage it more than twice. Here is my List: SUMMARY -- THE 28 ACTS WHO HAVE ACHIEVED IT MORE THAN ONCE (16 Acts Have Achieved It 3 – Or More – Times) (I show how many Times/Runs they achieved it - and for how many Weeks/Charts) 01)… THE BEATLES - 15 TIMES//RUNS - 45 WEEKS 02)… ELVIS PRESLEY - 7 TIMES//RUNS - 22 WEEKS 03)… ED SHEERAN – 6 TIMES//RUNS – 11 WEEKS 04)= ABBA - 4 TIMES//RUNS - 13 WEEKS 04)= CLIFF RICHARD - 4 TIMES//RUNS - 11 WEEKS 04)= QUEEN - 4 TIMES//RUNS - 8 WEEKS 04)= MADONNA - 4 TIMES//RUNS - 8 WEEKS 04)= DRAKE - 4 TIMES//RUNS - 4 WEEKS 09)= WET WET WET - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 7 WEEKS 09)= ADELE - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 7 WEEKS 09)= ROLLING STONES - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 5 WEEKS 09)= THE POLICE - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 4 WEEKS 09)= TAYLOR SWIFT - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 4 WEEKS 09)= RIHANNA - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 3 WEEKS 09)= LADY GAGA - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 3 WEEKS 09)= ARIANA GRANDE - 3 TIMES//RUNS - 3 WEEKS 17)= ROD STEWART - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 7 WEEKS 17)= T. REX - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 5 WEEKS 17)= MEAT LOAF - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 5 WEEKS 17)= SPICE GIRLS - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 5 WEEKS 17)= BEYONCE - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 4 WEEKS 17)= ROBBIE WILLIAMS - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 4 WEEKS 17)= OLIVIA RODRIGO - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 3 WEEKS 17)= THE SHADOWS - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 2 WEEKS @@@ 17)= MICHAEL JACKSON - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 2 WEEKS 17)= SUGABABES - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 2 WEEKS 17)= HARRY STYLES - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 2 WEEKS 17)= MILEY CYRUS - 2 TIMES//RUNS - 2 WEEKS @@@ = THE SHADOWS -- If all 7 of the ‘Double Tops’ that they’ve been, (wholly or partly), involved in, were ‘given’ to them, they would join Elvis Presley, in 2nd= Position, having managed it 7 Times//Runs for 13 Weeks.
