They lost it with draws in March imo. It was also a 3 horse race so hardly guaranteed to come out top in the end!

We lost the league against Man Utd, that game has psychologically battered us. To dominate a game like we did and come away with a point just broke us mentally. You can see it in the play now, we lose our heads when things don't go our way subjectively and the finishing skills have really got in the minds. We're not playing terribly, but mentally we just do not look right and I can only conclude it is psychological.
These things happen, nobody expected us to challenge for the title this year (me included) and we'll probably be 5-7 points behind the winners, which feels about right. We're still a team in transition and who knows what will happen with the new manager. Most exciting thing for me is Michael Edwards is back at the club, won't happen overnight of course, but so much of what allowed us to become so good was because of him and his player recruitment. |

Well the new manager hunt seems to be very reminiscent of Spurs 2021, completely scattergram with some very bizarre leftfield shouts seemingly the new favourite every few weeks.

Well the new manager hunt seems to be very reminiscent of Spurs 2021, completely scattergram with some very bizarre leftfield shouts seemingly the new favourite every few weeks. Not sure I agree with that, it's all been hush hush. We were obviously interested in Alonso and talked to his camp and we've now settled on Slott which looks like it's done. Nothing concrete from anybody who had a clue came out until the weekend. And reading between the lines, the Slott news only became public as Bayern Munich wanted him. I've no idea how good he is or what he will bring, but his style of play appears to be the most similar to Klopp's. I see the plan in there and we're seemingly changing to a Head Coach structure, which I think is better longer term. And once the multi-club ownership is set up, we'll have at least one successor for the post. Truth is there's a lack of sought after managers out there right now, so it means taking a punt. |

Alonso was quite rightly your #1 target but when that door closed you've had the likes of Amorim, and De Zerbi allegedly approached. Even saw Mourinho rock up at Craven Cottage last week, now that'd be the shock of the century!
And be wary of signing managers from the Eredivisie even the last winning Feyenoord coach was Van Bronckhorst I think? How quickly his stock fell after the Rangers mess... |

Not sure on anything to be honest. From the sounds of everything we've interviewed a lot of people through third parties and gone for a data driven approach. Alonso is the clearly best manager, but he's only been managing for 2 seasons and his style of play is very different to Klopp. Plus, he's obciously going to Madrid at the end of next season. Who knows how this will pan out, but genuinely, who are the alternatives? There's a dearth of managers out there at the moment. Like I said as much as I love Klopp, he held too much power at the club in his current role. This is at attempted refresh and suspect we will purely have coaches who operate with a proper DoF structure. Anyone who follows Klopp is on a hiding to nothing and clearly a terrible start to next season will not be good. |

Arne Slot has said he hopes to take over from Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager at the end of the season.
Liverpool opened talks with Feyenoord on Wednesday about Slot's potential appointment. The Dutchman confirmed his interest in the job to ESPN before Feyenoord's 3-1 league victory on Thursday against Go Ahead Eagles. "It seems clear to me that I would like to work there," Slot said. “All I can say about it is that the clubs are in negotiations. I’m in the waiting room." He added that he was "confident" Liverpool and Feyenoord would be able to reach an agreement. |

Arne Slot is set to become Liverpool's next manager after a compensation deal worth up to £9.4m was agreed with Feyenoord.
The Dutchman is poised to succeed Jurgen Klopp, who announced in January he would leave Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season. The Reds will now take steps to agree a contract with the 45-year-old before he is officially appointed. |

Klopp and Salah had a big argument in and around their equaliser.
