Now that the confirmation period has been closed, it is time to unveil the songs.

I actually thought my artist reminded me a little bit of Mashrou' Leila so interesting to see them showing up here again as well!

There are only a couple of other names here I recognise at all so interested to see what route the rest of y'all have gone down with this ~ Cool to see quite a few people going with African countries.

I decided to swerve a bit from the Afrohouse that I usually send from South Africa and go with a Zulu language pop song from 1987.

‘Sgudi ‘Snaysi (it’s good it’s nice) is the long version of the theme tune to the South African Zulu 1980s comedy of the same name. I became addicted to (what I could understand of) the show and theme tune last year. While the song is distinct to South Africa you can definitely hear the percussion and other 80s production flourishes that were prominent in music from the US and UK in the same period.

Voted as got a busy week ahead. Very solid selection indeed, so many good discoveries here and I'm super impressed at some of the great stuff found for what on paper sound like some very tricky nations. Also some great picks for the easier countries too though. My top four are really wonderful <3
