Well the prediction game didn't work out so I am trying out another idea which isn't really a game. The new releases are above and you vote in the poll for what you predict the film will open with. Posse post your answers and hopefully this creates discussion
This one is for the British box office UK new releases: Home- New Dreamworks animation including the voice of Rihanna. Has already grossed £2.5M in previews Insurgent- Sequel to divergent based on the young adult book series Mommy- French (?) film with great reviews The Gunman- Taken 750. Action thriller staring Sean penn The Voices- Ryan Reynolds in a film where he listens to his evil pets Wild Card- Jason statham in a typical Jason Statham film My predictions: I was expecting £2.5M for home before last weekend. Considering it somehow shockingly made that much in previews I am going to predict £4.7M Insurgent should do very well and way higher than divergent (£1.4M)- prediction: £3M Mommy will do badly as no one will know it is out- £60k. Same for the voices- £100k. Same for wild card- £200k The gunman will bomb terribly- £170k |

Ok. So 'Home's preview weekend will be added into this week? Can you make my prediction for around £5.4m then please? However, IF the previews aren't added and have charted this week, can you leave it? Thanks

I'll say:
£4.9m for 'Home', almost adding another £2.5m, taking into account that it had the full three-day weekend this time £2.4m for 'Insurgent', going above what the first film did but let's say the reviews put some people off 'Mommy'.. French.. £40k 'The Gunman', well 'Run All Night' passed my expectations last week so I'll guess it comes in a bit below that at £580k 'The Voices', going to see this tomorrow but does anyone know what it is? I've not seen a poster anywhere and have only seen the trailer via YouTube £95k 'Wild Card'.. will this and 'The Gunman' be able to compete on the same week? I think this'll do a bit better out of the two with £700k (which was my original pick for 'The Gunman' but then I revised that down ) Such an unpredictable week with two action movies that I couldn't care less about |

HOME £6.2M
That's absolutely gigantic, even with previews Also I believe the biggest ever Dreamworks debut outside the shrek franchise |
