Just thought I'd start a new "series". In the "Top 5" series I wanna get your opinions on little topics and things. This one has NOTHING to do with your taste on the tracks or anything. But if we were to go out to the members of public and survey them and ask "Name 5 Little Mix songs". What 5 do you think would come out on top? Ignore how you personally feel about the tracks just name 5 songs you think are considered to be the girls "signature hit". |

1. Shout Out To My Ex
2. Black Magic 3. Touch 4. Power 5. Wings (Perhaps? Maybe this is a little forgotten I'm not sure...) I feel like these are the most remembered from what I can gather. Maybe even Cannonball for being their big winning moment? This post has been edited by Josh!: 22nd July 2020, 01:22 PM |

For me I think:
01. Shout Out To My Ex 02. Black Magic 03. Touch 04. Salute 05. Wings Yeah, I'm unsure on Wings but I think it's remembered enough! Salute always seems to get a boost whenever they promote and is constantly sound-bedding tv shows and things. The top 3 are unmatched I think. |

Always find it so difficult to know this, but I think something like:
01 Black Magic 02 Shout Out to my Ex 03 Touch 04 Power 05 Wings |

Salute is well known of course but I wouldn't put it anywhere near as high as the following;
Shout Out To My Ex Black Magic Touch Wings Power (Wait this is the exact same as Jack's) Next tier Secret Love Song, RL and then Woman Like Then most people would know: Hair, Move, No More Sad Songs and Salute. Other than 'Only You', 'Break Up Song' and maybe 'Love Me Like You' I'd say the rest are more like fans/big pop music fans would massively remember. I'd say Shout Out To My Ex, Touch and Black Magic as the three most remembered songs and add Wings and Secret Love Song (it's always in the top 5 of their most listened songs on Spotify) to make the top 5.
Having said that, I don't really think they have that ONE or two signature song(s) that the other UK groups like Spice Girls, Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud, All Saints and Sugababes all have. Little Mix have had so many big moments and they have been incredibly succesful but they don't have a stand-out song like Wannabe, Whole Again or SOTU that has become a real pop classic. |

Change Your Life should be better remembered as it is their best song in my opinion.

Picking five songs is hard. 'Black Magic', 'Wings' and 'Shout Out To My Ex' are definites, but then it's difficult as a fan who loves all of their songs to try to determine the other two. The general public seem to let most music go over their head; they never seem to know artists, the names of songs or lyrics.

I'd say Shout Out To My Ex, Touch and Black Magic as the three most remembered songs and add Wings and Secret Love Song (it's always in the top 5 of their most listened songs on Spotify) to make the top 5. Yeah, I disagree with this. SOTME, Touch and BM are just as relevant in pop culture and as much as a signature hit as the likes of Whole Again and SOTU imo. I'd probably argue SLS on a WW basis too, especially within the LGBTQIA+ community.Having said that, I don't really think they have that ONE or two signature song(s) that the other UK groups like Spice Girls, Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud, All Saints and Sugababes all have. SLS is a good shout for the top 5 tbh! |

I reckon Wings is still quite well remembered. 01 Shout Out To My Ex 02 Black Magic 03 Wings 04 Touch 05 Power This would be my shout aswell. And, yeah, I definitely think the first 2 will be remembered as their classics in 20 years time, the way you say GA/Spice Girls etc. have them. |

Yeah, I disagree with this. SOTME, Touch and BM are just as relevant in pop culture and as much as a signature hit as the likes of Whole Again and SOTU imo. I'd probably argue SLS on a WW basis too, especially within the LGBTQIA+ community. SLS is a good shout for the top 5 tbh! Really? Maybe it's just my age or generation thing or something, but I really feel like those songs were such momumental, career defining songs that are still remembered after 20+ years, whereas I can't see the same thing happening with SOTME or Touch. I'd think that the average non-pop listener (in the UK at least) definitely still remembers SOTU/Whole Again/Never Ever/Pure Shores etc. but couldn't immediately name a LM song (I use my boyfriend and his friends as a case study here). This is certainly not a dig at LM, as I love them as they are definitely one of the defining girlgroups of the UK, just with a load of big hits but imo not one of two signatures. I'd already find it a bit hard with the Sugababes, as I would say Hole In The Head and Push The Button but then you also have the likes of Round Round/Freak Like Me/About You Now and you could also argue that every single released during the Spice Girls first two era's are their signature songs (even though Wannabe is the biggest). |
