Only his mind can stop Ronnie O’Sullivan at the moment. It’s going to take something special to prevent him winning the Welsh Open next week.

3 matches, not even any lost frames for Ronnie in the Welsh Open.

OK, he had a first round bye, but in the form he's in, I doubt Robin Hull would have provided much resistance either.

Higgins made two excellent total clearances against Barry Hawkins but trailed 4-2! He won the last two though so it’s all square at 4-4.

Great win for John. Still producing the goods in his 40s. Well played to Barry. Looks to be getting back to form just in time for the worlds.

Congratulations to Ryan Day anyway winning his second career ranking title. Defeat for Cao Yupeng in a final means Graeme Dott takes the final spot in the players Championship.

Ryan Day in superb form at the moment. He wins the Romanian Masters final 10-8 against Stuart Bingham despite being 4-0 behind early on.

Not a fantastic game but glad to see Ding win. Didn’t realise Mark Allen was in such jeopardy of not being in the top 16 come the Crucible.

Brilliant win for Ryan Day today against World Champion Mark Selby in the Players Championship.
His 6-3 win moves him into the top 16 of the rankings and moves Mark Allen down to 17th!

When was the last time Higgins got beat 6-0 against anyone other than Ronnie O’Sullivan. Great result for Anthony McGill.

Really enjoyed watching this all week on ITV and can’t wait for the Worlds soon on the BBC. So pleased that in this age of Sky and BT etc there are still some snooker tournaments on normal free view TV. Thought Ronnie looked the winner all week apart from maybe the last few frames of the Trump match. Also credit to Murphy on a good week, think he let Ronnie off the hook a little.

Congratulations to Luca Brecel, who made his first pro maximum in the Championship League yesterday, a quick one in 7 minutes and 25 seconds.

Mark Allen's win this morning means he's above Ryan Day - so Ryan is out of the top 16 for the Crucible. If Stuart Bingham also loses his last 64 match, Mark would be above him too. Mark getting to the quarter final would put him above Ali Carter (Ali was beaten earlier.)

Still potentially lots to play for as even the £90k for the runner up could mean a massive boost for several players..

Hey, I was gonna say that. tongue.gif

I'd rather he lose here, but win the World Championship.

Now that Ronnie has made the maximum. I'm hoping that it won't be £5,000 for the 147 at the World Championship surely not.
