Only started my chart at the end of September 2009, but I thought about all the songs of the year when making my year-end chart
2009 - VV Brown - Shark In The Water (closely rivalled by Girls Can't Catch - "Keep Your Head Up") 2010 - probably the lead song from the Eclipse soundtrack But it's January, so can't tell at the moment |

I didn't know the song until like 2009, around the time Talons came out, which gave Bloc Party access to my HEART basically. *.* Plus, Bloc Party in Russia are like Alla Pugacheva in the UK ("WHO?"). Alla Pugacheva is massive in the UK! But ok, I get your point, you are forgiven. And Doctor Blind - in love with all of those lists, the only one I don't love is 'Bloodbuzz Ohio' and that's because I don't know it! I've been meaning to check out The National for a while now and this has given me a greater reason to. |

Just a guess because I didn't have a chart running all this time so I've done the last decade or so retrospectively:
2000 // #1 The Bloodhound Gang "The Bad Touch" #2 Slipknot "Wait and Bleed" #3 Limp Bizkit "Take A Look Around" #4 Green Day "Minority" #5 Eminem feat. Dido "Stan" (would have been #1 or 2 had it not been released in December) 2001 // #1 Linkin Park "In The End" #2 Incubus "Drive" #3 Muse "New Born" #4 Eminem feat. Dido "Stan" #5 System of a Down "Chop Suey!" 2002 // #1 The White Stripes "Fell In Love With A Girl" #2 Queens of the Stone Age "No One Knows" #3 Tenacious D "Tribute" #4 Oasis "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" #5 Alkaline Trio "Private Eye" 2003 // #1 Electric Six "Danger! High Voltage" #2 Outkast "Hey Ya!" #3 Dido "White Flag" #4 Linkin Park "Faint" #5 Johnny Cash "Hurt" 2004 // #1 The Killers "Mr Brightside" #2 Green Day "American Idiot" #3 Lostprophets "Last Summer" #4 The Killers "All These Things That I've Done" #5 Slipknot "Duality" 2005 // #1 Green Day "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"* #2 Arcade Fire "Rebellion (Lies)" #3 Arctic Monkeys "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor" #4 My Chemical Romance "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" #5 Foo Fighters "Best Of You" 2006 // #1 My Chemical Romance "Welcome to the Black Parade" #2 The Killers "When You Were Young" #3 Paramore "Emergency" #4 Muse "Supermassive Black Hole" #5 Muse "Knights of Cydonia" 2007 // #1 Linkin Park "What I've Done" #2 Paramore "Misery Business" #3 Kings of Leon "On Call" #4 Linkin Park "Bleed It Out" #5 Pendulum "Blood Sugar" 2008 // #1 MGMT "Time To Pretend" #2 Simple Plan "When I'm Gone" #3 White Lies "Death" #4 Kings of Leon "Sex On Fire" #5 The Killers "Human" 2009 // #1 The Lonely Island feat. T-Pain "I'm On A Boat" #2 Lady GaGa feat. Colby O'Donis "Just Dance" #3 Florence + the Machine "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)" #4 La Roux "In For The Kill" #5 Paramore "Ignorance" 2010 // #1 Linkin Park "The Catalyst" #2 K'naan "Wavin' Flag" #3 Pendulum "The Island" #4 Kanye West "Power" #5 Linkin Park "Waiting For The End" Decade-end chart: #01 Green Day "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (2004) #02 Muse "Knights of Cydonia" (2006) #03 The Killers "Mr Brightside" (2004) #04 Eminem feat. Dido "Stan" (2000) #05 The Bloodhound Gang "The Bad Touch" (2000) #06 Linkin Park "What I've Done" (2007) #07 MGMT "Time To Pretend" (2008) #08 Arcade Fire "Rebellion (Lies)" (2005) #09 The Lonely Island feat. T-Pain "I'm On A Boat" (2009) #10 My Chemical Romance "Welcome to the Black Parade" (2006) I already knew 2004 was easily my favourite year, it is interesting though that the most consistent top 5 (2009) is also the most atypical to my usual tastes. |

I only started my chart in 2007, however I've decided to start the list from my year of birth. Only the year-ends from 2007 and onwards are based on my chart points.

Following the same idea as gagafan, these are the songs that probably would be my year-end #1 in the years of my life before I started my chart in late December 1994.
1980 ABBA 'The winner takes it all" 1981 Human League 'Don't you want me' 1982 Survivor "Eye of the tiger" 1983 Irene Cara "Flashdance (what a feeling)" 1984 Band Aid "Do they know it's Christmas" 1985 USA For Africa "We are the world" 1986 Berlin "Take my breath away" 1987 Whitney Houston "I wanna dance with somebody" 1988 Belinda Carlisle "Heaven is a place on earth" 1989 Madonna "Like a prayer" 1990 Chris Isaak "Wicked game" 1991 Bryan Adams "Everything I do (I do it for you)" 1992 Whitney Houston "I will always love you" 1993 Take That "Pray" 1994 Mariah Carey "Without you" |
