Call Out My Name is definitely the highlight! I enjoy it as a whole, there's clearly a lot of influence from his earlier work but slightly progressed too.

Agree with this! Liking the EP on first listen, reminds me of his earlier work.

the Gesaffelstein contribution is so tame I'm incredibly disappointed

the whole thing is lacklustre just like anything he's done since Trilogy

I really like that it's more like Trilogy, but I agree it still overall feels quite lacklustre. Call Out My Name is definitely my fave too! I'm really disappointed in the Gesaffelstein collabs too, I thought when I saw that he was gonna experiment a lot more and we'd get a huge banger from him, but you wouldn't know because it just has the same vibe as the others on the EP.

”Call Out My Name” Official Audio:

I’d say Call Out My Name sounds more like Earned It than anything

it's a brilliant EP. on the surface it seems like a relatively lacklustre attempt at copying elements of STARBOY and BBTM hashed together - but after a few listens it really does shine as a creative progression from his previous records, in terms of vocals and production.

its a shame to see some Abel stans still clinging on to the hope of him essentially releasing a carbon copy of Trilogy thus being dissapointed by this, as it's a fantastic record in terms of versatility. 'I Was Never There' reminds me of a dark EDM track in terms of the haunting breakdown, yet there's tracks like 'Call Out My Name' which sounds like a more mature, refined version of something from Kiss Land.

people need to realise he's not going for something cohesive or storytelling with this, it's a brilliant selection of tracks which showcases just how much he's matured as an artist regardless of how the records sound together as a whole

Well said tbh! I don't disagree with anything in this point!

Very solid EP where the two Gesaffelstein collabs stand out for me.

Whenever I listen to "Call Out My Name" I just hear "Earned It" 😕 Such a shame that he's taken a huge step back with this after the excellent 'Starboy' singles and "Pray for Me".
