Hailee Steinfeld is expected to release an EP in the near future, and the following tracks have all just been registered - with all but a couple having involvement from Mattman & Robin (Love Myself, Run Away With Me)!
Of course I assume some of those tracks will be saved for the full-length album that will presumably follow next year, but its very exciting to see so many Mattman & Robin tracks! |

isn't 'rock bottom' essentially a bon marche sale version of halsey's 'new americana'...?!
nonetheless i am quite on board because what is world where only jess glynne's and sam smiths exist? p.s. though she's definitely developing her own sound and identity, she's really developing her own brand of blog-inspired pop. the mattman and robin are really coming into their own as producers. hailee is the most exciting pop prospect since gaga if i'm being honest.... |

also the clear standout is 'hell no's and headphones', it's like the perfect bast*rdised offspring of 'royals' and 'big girls don't cry (personal). the way it builds, f***ing hell!

This is absolutely fantastic, Rock Bottom is the only one I'm not obsessed on right now
Agree with you Jake about Hell No's And Headphones being fantastic, what an amazing pop song |

This EP just keeps getting better and better for me, and my favourite keeps changing aside from Love Myself which is unbeatable. My favourite was Rock Bottom on release day, and now I think it's You're Such A - although Hell Nos and Headphones keeps growing and growing!

what i adore about hailee is the precise sense of pathos she conveys in her music, it really is exceptional. so exacting, precise and so melodically forward-achieving.
she gives me that feeling when i heard 'pon de replay' but SO much better and more contextual, she makes me think young sia without the disguise. obviously props go to mattman and robinson and long may she work with them |

Love Myself remains disgusting but Hell Nos is petty slick, even if her lyrics feel a bit try hard/at odds with her image and persona.

The EP is indeed wonderful. Great to see that her gloriously life-affirming masturbation anthem of a debut single wasn't a complete fluke.
I'd say 'Rock Bottom' is the highlight of the new trio due to how effectively the lyrics capture being in a confused, destructive relationship, but they're all top-notch and get the balance just right between feeling youthful/genuine to her as an artist and having enough maturity and experimentation to make her stand out from her peers. That said, I do get Jark's point about 'Hell Nos...' not exactly fitting with her image and overall vibe, but then I'd have expected her material to be bland and unremarkable based on the very little I know of her, so it's nice to be surprised by how much there seemingly is to her as an artist.
