OK guys here is my attempt at starting some sort of prediction competition.
Very simple. Predict what you think the top 5 songs and the last placed song will be. The winner is the person with the most accurate prediction. Points work as follows. For the song you predicted as being 1st place, you score 5 times the points that song scores in the final. For your 2nd placed prediction, you get 4 times the points that song scored in the final....down to 1x the amount of points your predicted 5th placed song scores in the final. If you correctly guess the last placed song you get a bonus 100 points. So get predicting!! This post has been edited by Peter30: 28th October 2008, 01:20 AM |

I think the top 2 are fairly certain but maybe not the order. I'm not really sure about the rest though.
Angelicland seem to be doing well on the odds, but I'm not that fussed with it, it's a good song that will probably be top 10, but I'm not sure about top 3. I think other people feel the same about my entry, so I can't see it finishing top 5. Nonsuch could do it again though. The songs I thought would do well aren't doing well in the other odds, so that makes me think I'm wrong. I think we could see a BJSC VII style result except there will be two runaway leaders. 1. Kellyana Kingdom: Megan McCauley - Tap That 2. Eledan: Lenka - The Show 3. FSR Rontvia: Pixie - Boys and Girls 4. Faztickle: James Morrison; Nelly Furtado - Broken Strings 5. Nonsuch: Suzie McNeil - Lonely (Are You Coming Home?) Last place: Land of Jack: Anna Abreu - Vinegar As I said, I think the top 2 are the only predictable ones. There are about 6 or 7 songs that I think could fill the rest of the top 5. As for last place it was kind of random, it was almost Britney, Lene or Junkie XL but I think they'll all have a few strong supporters. (or in Britney's case maybe a lot of lowish points from Britney fans) Whereas I don't know how Anna will do when it comes to narrowing down the songs. |

it's weird that semi-1 was perceived as strongest but the two songs pulling away from the pack (in people's minds) are both from semi 2!

I've swapped my top 2 around, I swear I won't change it again
listening to all of the songs now, Lenka stands out so much more than Megan |

it's weird that semi-1 was perceived as strongest but the two songs pulling away from the pack (in people's minds) are both from semi 2! Well I think it was the strongest overall still as 18/21 songs got over 50 points while only 13 (or less, I forgot what 13th place had) managed that in semi 2. I now think semi 2 had the top 2 songs, but the rest of it could finish anywhere - even 'Broken Strings' which I've put at 4th. Now we've got all the qualifiers though they both seem quite balanced. It's just the strength of the songs that got left behind from semi 1 that overpowers the ones that got left behind from semi 2. |

It's just the strength of the songs that got left behind from semi 1 that overpowers the ones that got left behind from semi 2. I agree with this statement. I'm absolutely gutted that Jamali missed out, still the song I would have given 10 points to has been bumped up to 12, as I have just sent my votes |

Well before the Semi Final results I honestly thought Jamali was going to win BJSC XI, so I'm not even going to dare predict this Final.

I will take place but as soon as I've heard all the songs! - I have a feeling I could be the first Non Pointer

I will make my prediction as soon as i listen to all the songs and vote :D
tbh i'm so used to qualification then flopping in the final so i can't even say anything to all who thinks The Show stands the real chance for the win :o |

I will take place but as soon as I've heard all the songs! - I have a feeling I could be the first Non Pointer no chance...Britney has tons of fans, at the very least you'll get loads of 1's, 2's and 3's...not sure if that will add up to a whopping total though, hence why I put last |

I will take place but as soon as I've heard all the songs! - I have a feeling I could be the first Non Pointer No way, I think the chances of that ever happening is REALLY low. The fact that you had to get through a semi final shows that there are some fans of the song at least - it would be really unlikely for them ALL to give you nothing. It didn't happen before semis were common and there were a lot worse songs in those contests. |

Typically, people give more points to songs in the final from their semifinal - so it's very unlikely for Britney to have zero points :o But who can tell
