This is the annual topic for declaring your interests and what bets you've placed this year (let's not forget, Eurovision is the largest non sporting betting market in the world!).
This is my first year actually putting my money where my mouth is and so far I've got £3 outright on Russia at 8/1 £3 each way on Cyprus at 50/1 Both of those were on SkyBet if you want to get in on those. I was looking for odds to qualify/come top 10/come last as well but they don't seem to have any of those so might have to go somewhere else but still, have fun and gamble aware guys! |

I will be deciding my bets tonight, hopefully I can find another Common Linnets! Off the top of my head I'll probably go each way on Azerbaijan, Greece, Cyprus and maybe Belgium but I'll properly look through the odds later.

I had a couple of quid left from my floppy 2013 betting on williamhill but I just learned that it's been banned in Russia since like a week after I made those bets lmao

I'd have liked to go for an each way bet on Cyprus but it isn't allowed yet for some reason on Betfair, so I've gone for:
£20 on Cyprus to come top 5 (5.6 - pays out ~£100) £10 on Montenegro to be the highest finishing Balkan entrant (21 - pays out £200) £20 on Sweden to win (7/4 - pays out £55) £10 on Australia to win (taken at the hideously low in retrospect 4.6 when it was first announced - £36 return) |

I've already put £1 each way on Spain at 66/1 from Ladbrokes but I haven't tried anything more adventurous just yet, they don't seem to have anything aside from odds to win. Probably will put on a few more if I find something good.

£5 on Belgium to win at 40/1
£20 (free bet) on Belgium each way at 40/1 Placed both on the day it was unveiled, wondering if it's worth doing any more. |

How rude, Oddschecker lists odds for Unibet and I still had money on that one so decided I'd go for it, yet there is no Eurovision on their website
Which one do y'all use? |

£5 on Austria to finish last @ 9/1
£2.25 on Belgium to win @ 8/1 £2.25 on Australia to win @ 7/1 50p on Sweden to win @ 11/8 The Sweden one is pretty pointless but I always like to stick something small on my personal favourite, regardless of how well/badly it's doing in the odds. I'm REALLY hoping the voters avoid Austria like the plague tonight. I could only envisage France or the UK doing worse but they're both much more highly fancied to come last. 9/1 seems like a good price for Austria, even though a host coming last is pretty unthinkable. |

That Austria last bet is a decent price but I couldn't see the juries totally shunning it under the new system, it seems like it'd pick up a fair few jurors having it in their top five with everyone else putting it in the middle - if we still had the old jury system which only counted top tens that'd be a pretty canny bet though!

Probably will put on a few more if I find something good. Right, final list of my bets as follows: £1 each way on Spain at 66/1 £1 each way on Azerbaijan at 66/1 £1 each way on Cyprus at 150/1 £1 for Georgia and Spain to finish top 10 at 11/8 and 2/1 respectively £2 on Montenegro being the highest Balkan country at 14/1 Lex tempted me on the Montenegro thing, and I am expecting less for Serbia than most others so it might work out. Those odds for Cyprus were quite lovely and if things do end up that badly I'd appreciate a bit of return. I always have awful luck with Eurovision bets though, hardly won anything last year and I'm not doing good this year, had bets on Belarus, Finland and Czech Republic all qualifying My optimism works against me sometimes. |

Why is everyone putting such little money on? I think I've put £20 at least on Eurovision bets.

I always go for 'bet little, potentially gain high rewards' strategies. Or if I'm REALLY sure on something 'bet little, gain a little'. Mainly because I couldn't stand losing too much and I know more I lose the more I'll want to get it back which is the path to gambling addiction. If I lose a little I don't really mind because just the act of betting makes me interested enough in different aspects of the results so I don't really need to put any more on.
In total I've probably bet the most on a single event that I ever have for tonight, will be interesting to see if I get anything back. |

I think it was a good bet regardless personally *.* Wish I'd gone each way on Belgium just to top up my winnings a bit! |
