Starting tomorrow!
All 296* songs that entered my personal chart this year are eligible and is made up out of a mixture of chart performance and my favourites! A couple of clues; 5 UK number ones made my chart this year, 1 didn't manage to make the top 200, 1 is top 150, 2 are top 100 and the other is very near the top. There are SIX acts who manage to get 3 or more tracks in the top 100. There is still NO act to have topped my End Of Year Chart twice. This is the 6th year it's been running and previous number ones have came from Chemical Brothers, Liam Lynch, Franz Ferdinand, The Futureheads and Stellastarr*. *There were actually exactly 300 songs entered my chart this year but four are DSQ'd. 3 for being in my top 100 last year and one because it charted twice under two releases. And so we kick off...
200 Bright Eyes 'Hot Knives' (38-26-27-31-40) 199 Jim Noir 'All Right EP' (39-32-26-26-29-33*) 198 Air 'Once Upon A Time' (35-28-26-31-36) 197 Maximo Park 'Karaoke Plays' (34-31-30*) 196 Apples In Stereo 'Energy' (23-18-23) 195 Babyshambles 'Delivery' (35-17-10-14-22-33) 194 The Rapture 'Pieces Of The People We Love (24-21-23-32) 193 My Chemical Romance 'Teenagers' (31-39-X-29-21-11-13-27-39) 192 Mumm-Ra 'She's Got You High' (31-19-17-35) 191 Manic Street Preachers 'Autumn Song' (32-34-15-14-28-34) Not much of note comes out here. As you can probably tell from their chart runs, some I like much more than others now. * = still on chart |

Anyway, some more.
190 Mark Ronson ft Amy Winehouse 'Valerie' (25-25-31-39-36-30-20-10-39)] 189 Nine Inch Nails 'Survivalism' (30-18-14-32) 188 The Killers 'Read My Mind' (31-28-23-30-34-37) 187 Klaxons 'Golden Skans' (31-23-19-18-23-35) 186 The Rakes 'We Danced Together' (33-29-35) 185 Nelly Furtado 'Say It Right' (39-40) 184 Little Man Tate 'This Must Be Love' (02-11-26) 183 Lily Allen 'Alfie' (36-26-12-22-35) 182 Muse 'Map Of The Problematique' (36-27-23-26-27) 181 Groove Armada ft Stush 'Get Down' (28-17-14-14-11-23-38) The 10 starts off with the first of four entries for both Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse. As you can tell from its recent huge drop I've gone off it. It's good but I listened to the original a couple of times and I actually really prefer it which I didn't think I did. It's now lost its appeal. The other notable songs in here are 'Say It Right', which I now love and placed it well inside my top 100 singles but because I never really liked it at the time it only spent two weeks right at the bottom of my chart, and 'This Must Be Love' which reached number two for me but I realised after a week I only liked it because I loved Richard Bacon on XFM and it was his final record of the week rather than because it was actually any good. Also appearing are Klaxons, Groove Armada and Muse with songs I've gone off or never really 'got'. |

180 The Aliens 'Robot Man' (19-14-18-25-28-39)
179 Pendulum 'Blood Sugar' (14-08-17-26-36) 178 Laura Veirs 'Saltbreakers' (34-21-15-15-15-24-31-39) 177 Mark Ronson vs Bob Dylan 'Most Likely To Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)' (21-17-11-08-17-28-40) 176 Willy Mason 'Gotta Keep Walkin'' (24-18-21-25-35) 175 The Sounds 'Painted By Numbers' (26-14-08-10-19-26-38) 174 Idlewild 'A Ghost In The Arcade' (28-20-16-13-16-25-33) 173 The Wombats 'Backfire At The Disco' (25-21-17-24-40) 172 New Young Pony Club 'The Bomb' (24-21-23-27-35) 171 Plain White Ts 'Hey There Delilah' (30-X-X-X-25-25-28-40-31-36-32-37) Nothing of great note here though I do wish 'The Bomb' had done a bit better... 7 of the acts have got atleast one more song to come. I really did try and hate 'Hey There Delilah' but I do think it's gorgeous. |

170 Laura Veirs 'Don't Lose Yourself' (18-11-19-29-39)
169 The Little Ones 'Lovers Who Uncover' (35-27-26-21-20-26-37) 168 Mutya Buena 'Real Girl' (24-15-08-12-20) 167 Beck 'Timebomb' (34-31-24-22-28-38) 166 Take That 'Rule The World' (36-23-17-18-27*) 165 Ian Brown ft Sinead O'Connor 'Illegal Attacks' (10-04-03-08-16-32) 164 Client 'Drive' (34-23-23-19-29) 163 Jamie T 'Calm Down Dearest' (07-09-16-26-28-37) 162 GoodBooks 'Passchendaele' (30-30-19-06-13-20-30) 161 Roisin Murphy 'Overpowered' (18-16-24-38) A couple of big UK Chart hits in this lot as Kravitz-sampling Mutya and Take That's best song appear. A couple of songs which should probably be a bit higher; Client and Roisin most notably. This post has been edited by RabbitFurCoat: 9th December 2007, 04:17 PM |

160 Nine Black Alps 'Burn Faster' (20-12-10-17-27-33)
159 Candie Payne 'One More Chance' (39-29-25-25-35) 158 Beyoncé 'Green Light (Freemasons Mix)' (17-06-09-20-36-40) 157 Kasabian 'Me Plus One' (23-16-17-29-40) 156 Amy Winehouse 'Back To Black' (38-16-05-06-11-17-30-38) 155 Iron & Wine 'Boy With A Coin' (32-20-11-16-22-32-29) 154 Klaxons 'Gravity's Rainbow' (30-20-16-18-25-29-36) 153 Black Rebel Motorcylce Club 'Weapon Of Choice' (19-06-04-07-22) 152 Kate Nash 'Foundations' (26-22-28-23-30-X-X-X-32) 151 Amerie 'Take Control' (20-10-08-09-07-19-33) Half male, half female for this 10 consisting of Nine Black Alps disappointing follow-up, the lovely Candie Payne, the first of two Beyoncé Freemasons Mix's, the best track off 'Empire', the 2nd of 4 entries for Amy, some folk, Klaxons best song, BRMC which gets boring after a while, Kate Nash who I've never been able to decide whether I really like it or not and Amerie who can't get in the top 150 despite having four weeks in the top 10 as I went off it because every one of her songs sounds EXACTLY THE SAME! 150 Travis 'Selfish Jean' (33-18-20-15-25-18-19-23)
149 Smashing Pumpkins 'Tarantula' (29-25-10-07-10-19-32) 148 Liam Frost & The Slowdown Family 'She Painted Pictures' (30-22-17-18-28) 147 Young Knives 'Terra Firma' (37-16-13-16-20-29) 146 White Stripes 'You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told)' (33-19-17-13-21-24-27-37) 145 Richard Hawley 'Tonight The Streets Are Ours' (35-30-21-11-07-15-24-33-40) 144 Cold War Kids 'We Used To Vacation' (25-18-17-17-22-32-38-39*) 143 Kings Of Leon 'On Call' (24-20-13-10-14-26) 142 Calvin Harris 'The Girls' (14-16-05-09-16-23-38) 141 Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip 'The Beat That My Heart Skipped' (24-23-20-16-19-19-23-38) Complete male domination this time round as we have Travis doing 'Lust For Life', Smashing Pumpkins, the somewhat wonderful Liam Frost, Young Knives, this albums decent White Stripes song, some typical Hawley, Cold War Kids middle effort, Kings Of Leon's most mainstream song yet, the slightly irritating Calvin Harris and the first Le Sac vs Pip entry.
