Last year Lily was the first act to do a 1-4-1.
Ed's pulled off a 1-2-2-4-4-1

I never thought I'd properly like a Union J song but it's happened now. So I'm thrilled this is becoming their biggest hit, but I'm happier for Ed! Thinking Out Loud is too good and too massive for just a week at #1.

I think that judging by the overall top 40 chart Union J must have held onto the sales #1 and Taylor Swift will be #1 on the download chart.

'You Got It All' is Union J's second best single IMO - 'Beautiful Life' is easily their best wub.gif Then the other 3 have all been awful so 'second best Union J song' isn't a big compliment. But I do quite like it tongue.gif

Was hoping the chart breaker would be Oli Sykes (and co.) instead of Oli Heldens. Ah well magic.gif First time hearing 'Last All Night (Koala)', sounding fairly good although a bit similar to 'Gecko (Overdrive)'.

Next week's top 3 (?) contender

Bring Me The Horizon
Drown
-

Release date: 07-12-2014
Format: digital single
Label: Sony Music

Video here:

Biography
Bring Me the Horizon are a British metalcore band from Sheffield, Yorkshire. Formed in 2004, the group currently consists of lead vocalist Oliver Sykes, lead guitarist Lee Malia, bassist Matt Kean, drummer Matt Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish. They are currently signed to RCA Records globally and Epitaph Records exclusively in the US. While their earlier work is noted for a deathcore style, they started to adopt a more eclectic style of metalcore on later releases. Furthermore, their latest singles marked a shift in their sound to less aggressive rock music styles. They have released four studio albums and two extended plays.

Bring Me the Horizon released their debut album Count Your Blessings in 2006. Upon release, the album was met with great polarisation amongst the public and critical disdain. The band began to break away from their controversial sound with Suicide Season (2008), which proved to be a creative, critical and commercial turning point for the band. Bring Me the Horizon then released their third album There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let's Keep It a Secret. (2010) propelled them to greater international fame, whilst incorporating influences from classical, electronica and pop. Their major label debut, Sempiternal has been their most significant commercial achievement, achieving Gold certification in Australia (35,000) and Silver in the United Kingdom (60,000).

And they especially missed a trick not having Bring Me The Horizon as the chart breaker as it would have made the transition to the Rock Show work for once laugh.gif

EDIT: Looks like they're playing 'Drown' as the first song on the Rock Show anyway though kink.gif

Yes, though that is blindingly obvious. Neither had streaming so they are in sales order.

Oh dear. Poor Union J! I really doubt they would have got enough streams to be #1 even if the song was available on Spotify though to be honest (but of course it wasn't HELPING them to not be on there).
