Yes unfortunate for Castles and Better to drop out, but both artists have other songs left in which charted higher. I'm pleased Don't Stop Me Now survived though!

Without ACR both Wham! and Mariah would have cleared 140k last week, by far the biggest weekly sales this year, and I think Old Town Road would have spent as many as 10 weeks in a row (11 in total) at #2. It would have actually been #1 for one or more of those weeks if free and paid streams were counted at equal ratios (free streams are worth 1/6 as much here too).

And those 2009 album sales ohmy.gif seem like light years ago. Maybe one day, with the help of streaming, Lewis' debut will go on to outsell Susan Boyle's (we can only hope)

Incidentally, OCC have published the 40 biggest songs not to make the Top 40 in 2019 here - I Could Get Used To This tops the list.

I think this excludes songs released before 2019 otherwise Fisher - Losing It would surely be here, also Billie Eilish - All The Good Girls... makes the top ten but Ed Sheeran - Remember The Name is nowhere to be seen which makes me suspect some weird rule about starred out songs. Still it's good to see these recognised.

The OCC has now published the full top 100 of the year on its website! The only change since yesterday's list is Eastside overtaking Talk for #42.

The OCC's EOY records only go back to 2005, so Wham! are a new entry, but Mariah is a re-entry. I haven't checked every year, but I expect its only previous appearance in that time was 2007, when it was 99th.

Bit strange it's only 2005, must be why they had Queen TGIC listed as a NE in last weeks top 100 even though it made the top 30 upon release.

Read the post, the EOY records only go back that far. TGIC is a separate issue, the OCC's weekly chart records go back to the start.

It’s odd that they data stops in 2005 in their archive given that it’s all out there somewhere. Plus you can look all the way back to 1996 for the albums.
