There couldn't be any #1 better than 'Starburster' presently What a start to the era  I really loved 'Skinty Fia' so hoping for an album which is even better (they definitely have it in them). I really struggled with the original version of 'The Tortured Poets Department', there was a long stretch within the album where every track felt jarringly derivative of the one prior to it. There were only a few songs that I enjoyed, with 'Fortnight' thankfully being my fav of the bunch by a mile + 'Florida!!!' was a lovely change of direction That being said, the 'Anthology' disc was really good! All of the picks from that edition here are great, especially 'Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus'.I've heard good things about Sadness so I'll have to check that track out... Great to see that some tracks from 'Only God Was Above Us' are still hitting new peaks here ooh, 'Destruction Age' is a banger as well!'Dial Drunk' finally entering  Also approving the climb for 'Too Sweet' this week + 'Ithaca' is a great release from Tourist!

I was pleased to see that 'Starburster' instantly debuted at #1 for you as well *.* was thinking that Taylor probably had the best shot of knocking Vampire Weekend off #1 this week, as she's had plenty of chart-toppers here in the past, but instead Fontaines grabbed their first with a stormer of a track. The perfect start to the era indeed. Fingers crossed! I agree that their previous material has also been great, I think they first came to my attention during the Dogrel era thanks to one of the indie forum song contests. Oops, yes I had similar thoughts, 'Fortnight' was a good start but a lot of tracks after that felt homogenous until the Florence collab breathed some life into it again. Then thankfully the 15 new tracks as a collective were way more up my street, as you can see from my split of the two halves here! Glad to see 'Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus' appreciation as I haven't seen that one getting enough love The Sadness song is my current BJSC entry so you won't have to wait too long if I make the final, fingers crossed  yay, my Only God Was Above Us vinyl turned up a few days ago ikr, akiaura, LONOWN & STM got my 18 points in BJSC and this is another tune. Noah king of belated hits here following the slow burn of 'Northern Attitude' as well.thank you for commenting <3 |

Oh my! Yass at ari still slaying your top 5. As much as I love Taylor and this album, I'm still very much enamoured by this track. Fortnight is very good. It has grown on me a lot since last week. Initially I thought it was a poorly thought out single choice but now I think it's dandy. There are stronger tracks on the album sure but I'd much rather they were used to pad out the era though saying that with how well the album has done and the streaming numbers of the tracks, I'm not sure whether it would make any difference. So high school was one of my immediate favourites but im off it already I think? It does draw parallels to Olivia rodrigos style of music though and she can clearly do it well. Florida!!! Is another banging tune on the album and was my immediate favourite though it's now been usurped by a track farther down your chart. I Adore the drums as Florence starts singing on the chorus. They are (literally) banging! The track I was referring to above was 'The Prophecy'. This one has grown on me the most since albums release. Now I'm not saying it's the best track on the album but at this moment in time ut is definitely my favourite. The manuscript is gorgeous Fabulous Taylor chart. x |

Indeed, I did wonder how much Taylor album week would knock Ari down but she's still smashing in the top 5. 'Fortnight' has grown on me more and more with each listen too! I've finally seen the music video now as well. 'So High School' is another that is getting better and better for me <3 that guitar sound feels really different to everything else on the record. I agree that 'Florida!!!' was a really instant song, especially with those pounding drums, but has also been usurped by others now. 'Starburster' is an absolute banger I didn't expect Noah have two slow-burners in my chart but there we go!
