Hello, hello, hello

I usually don't post much on this forum (I check threads very frequently though) but anyways, I've been watching most of the International series and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with how many they keep rolling out!!!

I just watched the premiere episode of Deutschland and by far I think it's the best for me (I know it's just one episode lol) but I love the judges so far.

I started watching Brazil and I'm not feeling it as much as I thought and Mexico one I'm just watching it for the sake of how deep I'm already into it!!!

I don't think I will continue watching Philippines, started but it's giving me nothing so far and probably it's for the best since UK is coming soon (right?!).

I'm curious if anyone else is getting overwhelmed and should they perhaps do something about the schedule/roll out frequency because seriously it's a bit too much at this point laugh.gif (for me at least).

Who's ready for UK though?!!!

Edit:

And this isn't a complaint (maybe on a soft side it is) because no one is forcing me to watch everything but I'm just curious how others feeling about it?

At the moment I’ve just stuck to USA, Canada, UK, Australia (plus US All Stars, Canada/UK vs the world)

I do plan on watching other ones at some point but yeah, there are so many and it’s rare that I watch more than one episode at a time

I watch them all to some degree, and I wouldn’t say I have fatigue, tbh when it’s peak season it is one the few things I do watch! When I do drop out (Mexico, potentially Brazil), it’s because there’s glaring issues that really out me off to a point I just don’t really care. To be honest I think between 3 being absolute bottom tier and 4 being dull towards the end (about Snatch Game onwards), I actually enjoy UK among the least!!

Like right now there’s been Mexico/France (just ended), Brazil, Germany, Down Under and Phillipines, plus we’re not long out from AS8 finishing and UK5/Italia 3 are both soon plus Canada4 before the end for the year and potentially España All Stars. Brief thoughts on some:

Mexico: not my fave, it had some good points for sure (pretty good cast especially Cristian and Matraka) but it really lacked an identity for me. It felt like it was trying too much to be like the US format, idk it just didn’t fully work for me. Episodes felt like a slog and time and bloated and some of the narratives and judging were weird. Like why did they do an acting challenge and give the win based on runway, why did they do a Rusical where 3 queens had basically all the lines and airtime and then other queens had barely a line? There were also too many non elims, so the pacing felt weird near the end and at the start, it felt like they just did what they want which did feel like more convoluted moments from the US franchise. Lolita Banana was great but Valentina was at times a bit awkward.

Brazil: only two episodes so far but low-key awful, the split premiere had terrible pacing. They should have just done a full episode with at least a top 2 lipsync, if not elims. Apparently according to the spoiler Reddit it does get better when it’s “normal” episodes.

Germany: so far amazing, the premiere was great and I think unlike say Mexico it immediately started with a strong sense of identity so it feels like it’s a guilt for the queer German community, it’s not simply “oh here’s another Drag Race”.

Belgique: not great, the winner absolutely dominated for me and then most of them were just there and had one or two good showings in the challenges. It just dragged a bit, had nothing to it, I guess they did their best with presumably a small drag scene and not much budget, but I would hesitate to recommend bothering watching it personally.

Sverige: underrated for me, pretty chaotic but a decent bunch of queens and it stood with its own identity I feel.

Phillipines: I thought season 1 was already overrated but Christ this fell OFF laugh.gif A racist pretty much being the front runner, some really nasty “drama” (although other parts are top tier Untucked camp), odd judging in placings, the host has been drained of ANY energy or spark at all, there is just very little that works about this season sadly after what was a decent start with the split premiere.

France 2 was also absolutely top tier, like I’d say it was genuinely up there with the highest highs of any US season. The cast, challenges, judging, judges, lipsyncs, basically nothing faltered, with an absolutely incredible powerhouse of a winner and even a live finale.

I don’t people who actively complain about it, like I’ve seen people on Twitter saying there’s too much and like I get not everyone will or can watch them all, but like… sorry drag queens who don’t live in English speaking countries you can’t have a platform because Kyle doesn’t want to watch anything in another language laugh.gif I think as even more

I don't watch them all for the same reason. I look on it as the way you wouldn't watch all the international franchises of something like The Voice unless you were a really dedicated fan - they are really for people in that country.

(As you'll see we aren't necessarily making threads for all seasons now - but please anyone, feel free to yourself for a discussion space smile.gif)

I'm using Phillippines as a replacement for Thailand and am enjoying it mostly. Mexico was fine, France was really good this year.

I'm not watching Down Under and I will watch UK, US, All Stars and any All Star esque spinoffs if I like the cast.

Germany, Brazil, Belgium and Sweden I haven't even tried. One day if I have the time and am bored, maybe!
