tbh the whole X Factor scheduling should be redone as its so boring now for xmas singles. Theres practically NO point releasing a song for xmas number one since its always gonna be the X Factor winner (at least until it finishes)

Xmas Bertie nothing will come next....this kid doesnt have the talent of Leona, or the looks of Shayne to keep him in the business.
In conclusion: David Sneddon mark #2 This time next year, he'll be stacking shelves in Scotland! |

I really don't like Fairytale of New York at all. =/ Perhaps because I have no memories assosciated with it whatsoever as it's not played in the US. However, I'd much rather have it #1 over Leon any day.

I really really don't understand the big deal with the Pogues song at all It's really not that good imo, and I don't get why everyone loves it so much It actually ranks about mid-table for me Christmas song wise. It's a drunk with bad teeth shouting at a woman who is only famous now for having died. Still, I'd prefer it at Xmas #1 than Leon. I hate it and always have and just can't see the appeal of it. |

perhaps, but remember that those are all downloads Exactly, this 36K average usually includes physical sales. An average download only single wouldn't be doing this well. I know Leona was doing much better at this point though. On the one hand this means that Leona shouldn't have to worry about being knocked off the top of the best selling Single of 2007 chart. But it might mean we only have one 500k+ seller this year unless Rihanna can manage 6k of Umbrella. |

Even 36k WITH physicals would give around 70k atleast which is enough to get you to number one on about 45 of this years 52 weeks. FAR from average.

I am actually quite bored of The Pogues hit! If they gave it just a year out of contention or something then im sure i will be happy again! I think Mariah Carey and Wizzards Christmas songs are MUCH better! And i genuinely do think that they are only selling more copies because Radio 1 bleeped out the words!
I feel sorry for Radio 1 - They couldnt win with that record coz if they DIDNT bleep it out then they'd get complaints for playing it before the watershed but now that they do bleep it out theyre getting more complaints! Some People in this world seriously need to get their act together! |

Yeah, it seems like most acts just accept that they can't win so don't bother. This christmas chart has to be the most dullest ever, if it wasn't for the christmas songs than I would completely lose all interest. Yeah but what if X Factor continues but in something like the 8th edition it flops like big brother did in that series and the winner sells about 25k, surely people must realise that the nearest competition will be Mariah |
