Festival da Canção returns to select Portugal's Eurovision entry in March next year.
QUOTE The rules are very similar to the 2019 edition with 16 songs competing across two semi-finals, culminating in a final of 8 songs. 14 of the songs will by songwriters invited by RTP from various musical backgrounds, who will write a song alone or with other writers to be performed at the national final. The performers of the song will be selected by the songwriters, with final versions of the songs being submitted by 30 November 2019. The fifteenth songwriter will be selected through the radio show, MasterClass. The show promotes Portuguese music and supports new songwriters without published works. The songwriter will be selected by a jury made up of the show’s resident musician, the host of the show and Antena 1’s director, Rui Pêgo. Finally, the last songwriter will be selected through an open song submission. Songwriters entering the selection must be a citizen of Portugal. Songs must be submitted to RTP via email (festivaldacancao@rtp.pt) by 15 October 2019. The winner of the open song submission will be selected by 31 October 2019. https://escxtra.com/2019/08/20/16-songs-wil...ival-da-cancao/ |
