November 3, 20213 yr Author QUESTION ONE Name a song from 2021 that has gone straight to A-List in itβs first week on Radio 1βs weekly playlist U3ASj1L6_sY CORRECT ANSWERS Adele - Easy On Me Ansel, Bjork, BrΓ©, chrissmith276, dandy*, dj_tim_e, Dobbo., Jade, jimwatts, JulianT, King Rollo, Lee_J11, LewisGT, LiamSime, MangΓΈ, n4yr, rio309, Riser, StoneDragon, vibe, Viper* (20 Points) Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits CJK, Cow Cow, dan:G, Hadji, paulgilb, PeteFromLeeds, xajnipi (6 Points) NO POINTS Central Cee - Obsessed with You ~1^β (0 Points) CJ - Whoopty Mack. (0 Points) Starting off here with a rather landslide answer in the current UK #1 single by Adele. Bad Habits was the only other answer given that scored any points. Our resident chart member MangΓΈ should be able to say with ease whether or not Central Cee or CJ were instant A-Listers in their opening week on Radio 1.
November 3, 20213 yr Author Slight adjustment in favour of the leaders, I forgot to include Ansel's answer (oops), so it's actually 20 points, not 19. :kink:
November 3, 20213 yr Author QUESTION TWO Name a UK #1 single by ABBA xFrGuyw1V8s CORRECT ANSWERS Dancing Queen ~1^β, Ansel, BrΓ©, chrissmith276, Cow Cow, dandy*, dan:G, dj_tim_e, Dobbo., Hadji, Jade, jimwatts, JulianT, King Rollo, LewisGT, n4yr, rio309, vibe, Viper*, xajnipi (19 Points) Waterloo CJK, Lee_J11, MangΓΈ, paulgilb, PeteFromLeeds, Riser (5 Points) Mamma Mia Bjork, LiamSime, StoneDragon (2 Points) NO POINTS Money, Money, Money Mack. (0 Points) ABBA have been a hot talking point in late 2021 thanks to their resurgence, and looking back at their discography, it is Dancing Queen that is remembered fondly the most it seems. Waterloo and Mamma Mia are also answers that score points in this round, but it wasn't to be again for Mack. who scored 0 points with Money, Money, Money.
November 3, 20213 yr 'Dancing Queen' is their signature song so I had to go for that! I can see cases for their Eurovision winner and title of a very famous musical/movie series (+ MΓ₯neskin song xox) too
November 3, 20213 yr I considered Waterloo as it was the first one but thought that Dancing Queen was the one to go for.
November 3, 20213 yr Author QUESTION THREE Name a UK Top 10 album with a US state in the album title EqPtz5qN7HM CORRECT ANSWERS Eagles β Hotel California BrΓ©, chrissmith276, CJK, dandy*, King Rollo, Lee_J11, rio309, vibe (7 Points) London Grammar β Californian Soil Ansel, dan:G, Dobbo., LewisGT, MangΓΈ, n4yr, PeteFromLeeds, StoneDragon (7 Points) Blink 182 β California JulianT, LiamSime, Mack, xajnipi (3 Points) Bon Jovi β New Jersey Bjork, Cow Cow, jimwatts (2 Points) Slipknot β Iowa ~1^β, Hadji, Viper* (2 Points) NO POINTS 2Pac β California Love paulgilb (0 Points) Nirvana β Unplugged In New York Riser (0 Points) Oklahoma! OST dj_tim_e (0 Points) Red Hot Chili Peppers β Californication Jade (0 Points) California seems to be the most thought of US State when it comes to album titles with states in them. Joint first are albums from Eagles and London Grammar. A wide variety of answers given to this question, but lots of mentions of California within the titles!
November 3, 20213 yr I know Californication technically doesn't have the word 'California' in it but my mind just goes straight to the Red Hot Chili Peppers when I see any mention of it  and it doesn't matter if it's technically wrong in Family Fortunes :kink: embarrassed that I forgot about London Grammar as I have that on vinyl and everything  thank u, next x
November 3, 20213 yr Californian Soil was my first thought, but I wasn't sure if it counted with the "n" on the end. I suppose it still has "California" in the title so should have just gone with it!
November 3, 20213 yr Hotel California was the only one I could think of so I'm pleased that some others put it as their answer.
November 3, 20213 yr Damn, I initially put dancing Queen for question 2 then changed to Mamma Mia as I thought it would be more popular!
November 3, 20213 yr Author QUESTION FOUR Name one of the currently pinned threads in the UK Charts forum 5qGI_nj3yl0 CORRECT ANSWERS Sales Thread ~1^β, Ansel, Bjork, BrΓ©, chrissmith276, CJK, dandy*, dan:G, dj_tim_e, Jade, jimwatts, JulianT, LewisGT, LiamSime, MangΓΈ, n4yr, rio309, StoneDragon, vibe, Viper*, xajnipi (20 Points) Chart Forum Quiz Season 5, Q4 2021: Sign-Ups and Leaderboard Dobbo., King Rollo, PeteFromLeeds (2 Points) New Release Schedule Lee_J11, Riser (1 Point) NO POINTS Chart Index Cow Cow (0 Points) Friday Chart Predictions Hadji (0 Points) Track of The Week Mack. (0 Points) UK Top 100 Singles & Albums paulgilb (0 Points) This question was probably the most random of them all, I didn't know what would come from it, but there were only really a small amount of correct answers that anyone should be giving, that said, a couple of the answers given were not pinned threads in the UK Chart forum. :kink:
November 3, 20213 yr Author QUESTION FIVE Name a UK Top 10 single that is an acronym (e.g. LOL, OMG, ASAP) 1RnPB76mjxI CORRECT ANSWERS Usher feat. will.i.am β OMG BrΓ©, chrissmith276, Hadji, Jade, jimwatts, Lee_J11, LewisGT, MangΓΈ, n4yr, paulgilb, PeteFromLeeds, Riser, StoneDragon, Viper*, xajnipi (14 Points) Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion β WAP Ansel, Bjork, dan:G, dj_tim_e, Dobbo., JulianT, King Rollo, vibe (7 Points) Dua Lipa β IDGAF Cow Cow, LiamSime (1 Point) Village People β YMCA ~1^β, rio309 (1 Point) NO POINTS ABBA β SOS CJK (0 Points) Pink β U + Ur Hand Mack (0 Points) Rita Ora feat. Tinie Tempah β RIP dandy* (0 Points) I guess I should have realised giving an example of what an acronym was that people's minds would immediately take them back some 11 years ago to a Top 10 hit by Usher! I didn't think the example of OMG was an obvious one, but clearly I just gave you all the most pointworthy answer! Cardi B, Dua Lipa and rather surprisingly Village People all score points. Unfortunately my explanation of an anagram wasn't quite understood by Mack.'s answer.
