Reading have announced that former Southampton manager Ruben Selles has been appointed as their new boss.
Selles, who was manager as Southampton suffered relegation to the Championship, takes over at the League One club. |

Neil Harris has been appointed Cambridge United's new head coach on an 18-month contract.
Harris was sacked by League Two Gillingham in October as the club wanted "to go in different direction". The 46-year-old's first game in charge will be the League One match against Charlton Athletic on Saturday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67615166 |

Reading owner Dai Yongge has been fined £20,000 for failing to deposit the necessary wages at the League One club.
Dai was charged with misconduct by the English Football League in September after not banking enough money to cover 125% of the forecast monthly wage bill. The EFL recommended he be banned from all football activity for 12 months, but an independent disciplinary commission opted against enforcing it. However, the commission described Dai's actions as "deliberate misconduct". A further £50,000 fine issued by the commission has been suspended until 12 January, 2024, and that will be triggered if he fails to deposit the required amount in full. |

Doesn't sound like the best of times at Reading then - hope it gets resolved soon. Reading online it seems like the owner wants to sell the club so hopefully that might bring about the right change.

Port Vale Football Club has denied singer Robbie Williams has made a bid for the club.
The club was aware of stories in national newspapers and posted a statement online to clarify their position, a club spokesperson said. They said Williams, famously a lifelong fan of the Vale, had not made a bid to purchase the club and there have been no conversations about the matter. The singer was made club president by the club on Saturday at which time he praised the co-owner and chair Carol Shanahan and said "let the good times roll". |

As for Carlisle, our new January signings are taking a while to get their feet under the table. A new goalkeeper was essential, the amount of mistakes made was rather embarrassing...

Cheltenham kept their survival hopes alive going into the final day of the League One season after a 2-0 home win over promotion-chasing Peterborough.
First-half goals from Joe Nuttall and Matty Taylor took Town, in the final relegation place, two points behind Burton. With their play-off spot already secured, Posh boss Darren Ferguson rested a host of regulars, making seven changes. And his youthful side were blown away in the first half by the Robins, who knew anything other than a win meant relegation with one game to play. |

Carlisle are already through the trapdoor to League 2. This has been our first season at this level for 9 years. Hopefully a strong start next season will help to see us return to this level.
