Jamie Miller’s Babydoll gets a third week at number one in the singles chart. This week’s streaming figures were slightly up on last week’s. This means that it stands a good chance of staying at number one until it gives way to festive offerings. It is already the longest-running number one by a solo Welsh male artist since Shakin' Stevens’ Green Door in 1981, sixteen years before Miller was born.
Tate McRae’s Housewife stays at number two. Ashe’s Stop The Wedding is also a non-mover, at number three. Sienna Spiro’s Great Expectation climbs back up to number four.
In Wednesday’s update, there were no new entries in the top forty. There were, though, several re-entries for Hallowe’en=linked songs. However, with Hallowe’en itself falling on the first day of the chart week (Friday), it was always likely that some of them would drop out of the top forty by today. The question was whether they would be replaced by anything new.
In true 2026 style, the answer to the above question was that none of them would be replaced by something new. Indeed, not one of them dropped out. The Hallowe’en round-up starts with the only one that had already entered the chart before this week. Michael Jackson’s Thriller climbs to number five, a new peak for the song.
Ray Parker Jr’s Ghostbusters theme re-enters at number twelve, two places ahead of Rockwell’s Somebody’s Watching Me. The latter song features uncredited vocals by Michael Jackson.
Tame Impala’s Dracula returns at number fifteen having reached number two earlier this year. Bobby ‘Boris’ Pickett’s Monster Mash, originally released in 1962, is at number nineteen. Danny Elfman is at number 22 with This Is Halloween (without an apostrophe), one place above Andrew Gold’s Spooky Scary Skeletons.
One more re-entry to note. Rihanna’s Disturbia, a number three hit in 2008, is back at number 39.

As with many long-lasting rock bands, Queens Of The Stone Age have undergone many personnel changes in their thirty years of existence. The only constant member has been Josh Homme who has also managed to find the time to produce material for bands such as Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys. They released their first album in 1998 with limited success. Their major breakthrough, particularly in the UK, came with their third album Songs For The Deaf which reached number four in 2002. They got their first UK number one with their seventh album Villains in 2017 and have now matched it ith album number nine, Perfecth.
Scottish indie band The Snuts have been around for a good deal less time than Queens Of The Stone Age but have, so far, kept the same line-up in their eleven years. They even include two members who met at primary school. Their first three albums all reached the top three while topping the separate Scottish albums chart. This week's Scottish albums chart is not yet available, but I can say that Joy In Short Moments is at number four in the UK chart and at number one in the Record Store cChart which measures sales in independent record shops.
Olivia Rodrigo’s You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love climbs back up to number two. The Essential Michael Jackson is at number three. Fontaines DC get a third week in the top five with Dopamine Chamber, at number five.
Canadian band Nickelback are probably best-known for their song How You Remind Me which is something they may regret. They have maintained three constant members since they formed in 1995, including brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger. Their first major success came with their third album which was released in 2001. Each subsequent studio album reached the top ten in the UK until Get Rollin’s only got to number 30 in 2022.They return to the top ten this week with Everything Under The Sun at number six.
Editors’ debut albumin performed modestly when it was released in April 2005. Several quality singles from the album also did less well than they should have done. Then one of those singles, Munich, got a renewed push and did rather better. It helped sales of the album as well, taking it to a new peak of number two in January 2006. The follow-up album, An End Has A Start, wasn;t as good but the momentum gained by The Back Room sa it enter at number one. Maths fans will have been disappointed when its chart run of 1=4-9 was followed by a fall to number seventeen. It should, of course, have been one place higher to maintain the sequence. Their eighth studio album EBM is at number ten, maintaining their 100% record with studio releases.
American product MK is at number twenty with In The Night Again. British rapper Nines is at number 30 with Young Nina after reaching number fourteen with Lost Tapes a few months ago,.
The Who released their seventh studio album, The Who By Numbers. In 1975. The album, which included the hit single Squeeze Box, reached number seven. To mark the album’s 51st anniversary there is a new edition featuring remasters, demos and a live album. It is at number 31.
