All of these songs were under scrutiny, and Buzzjack voted in its THOUSANDS (0.013 thousand of you to be precise :funky:) and we have a winner. Are you all together again and have you done anything for Janet lately? Wait just a little while (tomorrow in fact) to find out!

puns not intended.

Looking at that list again just proves what a monster hit-maker she is. I have an obvious winner in mind but supporting a few underdogs to sneak up quite high too.

40 Funny How TIme Flies (When You're Having Fun) (4.95)

A few of Janet's 00s tracks fail to impress here, with her latest single Nothing from 2010 coming 2nd last as well as 2001's Son Of A Gun and 2006's So Excited failing to make the top 30. Last place, however, goes to a song from Janet's 1986 breakout album Control, Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun) which fails to even reach an average of 5.00! None of my particular favourites here, I do really like Son Of A Gun though and Come Back To Me is one that's really grown on me during my Janet fest recently. Most of her more forgettable tracks are here though imo.

"Whoops Now" far too low! I probably wouldn't place it in my top 10, but I have such a soft spot for it. It's fun, uplifting and so early 90s. Don't raelly care about any of the rest there, though "So Excited" is quite good considering if involves KHIA.

"Twenty Foreplay" is utterly amazing, but sadly quite overlooked as the second single from a hits collection.

Son of a gun didn't deserve that !!

I personally love twenty foreplay too but understand its forgettable for others

Poor brave Make Me and Just A Little While  Most of this section contains her work I'm less familar with, but I weep a little for the disco groove and funk rock jam! The lowest two The Velvet Rope singles come in at #24 and #23 respectively, but we still have Got 'Til It's Gone, Together Again and I Get Lonely to come!

Most of these songs deserve a line or two of their own Liam. "Rock With U" is horribly underrated. Such a slinky groove.

I'm doing that for the top 20! Unsure when that'll be though, laptop's in repair and the results are on there :(

Janet rocks not until her desperate stunt with Justine Timberlake, the bra thing... although she do have a talent

Sorry this has taken a while to get back up and going! My laptop can be very temperamental :drama:

20 I Get Lonely (7.54) - no 11s, more 10s

Kicking off the top 20 is the third single from Janet's smash album The Velvet Rope. I Get Lonely is a sweet and smooth R&B ballad, not one of her best but certainly not one of her worst. Upon release in 1998, it gave her a transatlantic top 5 hit.

19 Let's Wait Awhile (7.54) - one 11

Next up is an older track, one from Janet's breakout album Control, which sees a juxtaposition to the largely sexually liberated Janet seen during said era. Released as the fifth single in 1987, this hit the top 3 both sides of the Atlantic.

18 Again (7.58)

A US #1, this ballad was a great contrast from the 2nd single If when released in 1993. Probably one of her best songs of this kind for me

17 Runaway (7.65)

The lead single to Janet's first best of Design Of A Decade, this track is a fusion of Janet's traditional pop/R&B style with some worldbeat and pop/hip-hop hard beats. It was a fair success, peaking at #6 in the UK and bagging her an umpteenth top 3 hit in the US.

Despite being the worst performing single from Control commerically, this synth-pop track about a love gone wrong almost makes your Janet top 15! When released in 1987, it only made #14 in the US and #24 in the UK.

Had a bit of a Janet session tonight so thought i'd bump this.

'Let's Wait A While' is probably my favourite of that recent bunch but 'I Get Lonely' is so beautiful too and one of the highlights off my favourite album from her <3
