Which Artists IYO Should Make A Strong Comeback And what Should They Sound Like ???

and i mean by artists that should make a comeback artists that have been away for more than 2 years (and not necessarily away but artists that didn't release any successful single or album for the past 2 or 3 years) .....

Here's my list of potential comebackers and my opinion on how they should sound like.

-Roxette : They were one of the biggest selling acts of the 80's and 90's and They've been away for so long and they need to make a strong comeback with a pop-rock album sounding like their 1989 'Look Sharp' mixed with sounds from their 1999 album 'Have a nice day' but with a funkier more electro-rock approach.

-Blur: One of the best bands of the 90's, Damon Albarn disappeared to pursue other projects. I heard they are making a comeback soon and i hope they are, but i wish their new sound would be more like their biggest hit album 'Parklife' but with a modern electronic sound.

-Garbage: OMG, Where are they now???? They used to be my fave band ever and they disappeared after their 2005 album 'Bleed like me' which was quite disappointing compared to their previous chef-d'oeuvres. I hope they will be recording a new album soon and i hope it's only half as good as 'Version 2.0' which is more than enough to me.

-Geri Haliwell: She was the British Madonna for 2 or 3 years, then she disappeared after her last underrated album 'Passion' flopped . Geri can still come up with something really pop and still be a huge star if she wants to . I wish she does her comeback soon with a campy disco-pop album !!!

-Holly Valance: so OK, she was never that successful but she released a masterpiece album in 2003 'State of mind' which in my opinion is one of the best albums of the decade, but it's a shame it was a huge flop. Hopefully she will come up with a new album of the same quality but more pop-orientated.

-Dannii Minogue: The lesser-known Minogue also released a dance masterpiece in 2003 'Neon Nights' but she disappeared ever since and started releasing occasional singles which were very good but didn't quite set the charts alight. Hopefully, Dannii will come up with an album similar to 'Neon Nights' but with an edgier sound soon.

-Kelly Osbourne: Her 2005 album 'Sleeping in the nothing' had many great tracks but only 'One word' was a hit. Kelly has a long career ahead and i hope she releases an album similar to Gossip's latest 'Music for Men'.

-Jennifer Lopez: Her 2007 album 'Brave' was one of the best pop-R&B-disco albums ever recorded, yet it flopped due to lack of promotion and her doomed marriage to Marc Anthony. She is releasing a greatest hits soon but hopefully her next album would be as good as 'Brave' but with more promotion.

I agree about Garbage, Blur & Roxette

The rest of the list: better forget about music <_<

I'd really love Louise to come back with a more modernised sound, she's really likeable but her previous material was quite bog standard pop music, as much as I liked some of it.

Roxette please!!!!

Also Garbage and Blur should re-appear from what you've posted.

The Cranberries should comeback asap too!

I agree with a few that has being mentioned, id love The Corrs,Blur and Roxette to be huge all over again as i still love all their previous work,

I would love Shania Twain, Dannii Minogue, Gina G, to also have success again and in a differnt field id love Bon Jovi to have a huge selling album like they used to and id love to see comebacks from Def Leppard and Matchbox 20 aswell.

Shania Twain

The Corrs

Evanescence

Shania Twain, should have something out sometime next year hopefully :D The Corrs, should also have a new album late 2010/early 2011. Evanescence are already working on a new CD-should be also out next year :D

I'd like to see Mel C come back with a hit, I loved all her old stuff.

I would personally love to see The Corrs make a huge comeback, but it's never going to happen unless they suddenly abandon the Irish fiddles and go electro-pop, and Andrea starts shagging Peter Andre.

Generally my list of who I WANT to have a comeback differs wildly to the list of who I THINK could potentially actually achieve it.

Roxette definately and every Spice Girl :kink:

Roxette definately and every Spice Girl :kink:

Roxette are re-releasing this month re-masters of their old albums with bonus tracks (B-Sides and unreleased recordings)....

but i was hoping for some new material by the Swedish duo.... :yahoo:

Janet Jackson: I know she's making a new album, but without the right promotion it'll do as bad Discipline

Geri Halliwell: UK Pop Icon!

Jamelia: She really needs to release something new

Jamelia is back in the studio btw! Its been ages since she confirmed a new album so god knows when shes actually releasing it.

Holly Valance is apparantly returning but after the whole Frankmusik thing, who knows whats happening there.

Rachel Stevens, well there was some sort of strange news about her doing something with the bloke off 2Unlimited. Very strange.

Stacie Orrico, defo needs to come back. I cant think of anyone else though.

Rachel's had some brilliant songs, i'd love to see her come back with a hit.

I don't think we really need Stacie Orrico. She added nothing to the musical landscape, she was simply an anonymous amalgamation of every other US pop princess singer out there.

Spice Girls and Destiny's Child.

Don't think there are any other defunct acts or artists that I'm really pining for other than those two. But I know I'd only be disappointed by the Spice Girls (they're mostly about nostalgia and too old now to make the music I loved them for) and Destiny's Child aren't so bad as three separate entities. (two for the more ignorant)
