too late, USJ have already declared an interest to send Starstrukk and he said that he won't be happy if anyone reserves it before him :P

as far as I can see it, most cheap entries likely to do well are still perfectly acceptable to be sent...so whilst we can't send the new Robbie Williams single (which wouldn't go down that well on here anyway), feel free to send Jordin Sparks' SOS or Agnes' I Need You Now :P

what does the rule state about tracks from re-released albums by the way, i.e. the impending first single from The Fame: Monster which will infact be single 5 or 6 from the era

do Aaron and James both agree with every aspect of this rule change, I'm quite surprised as I would have thought they'd have been amongst the crowd most vocally against something like this :o

I'd be lying if I said I felt this rule change was discussed properly at length between all four of us.

I feel that this could have done with a bit of tweaking. I agree that banning some AF artists and allowing others at request is a bit...off. But at the same time I don't see the harm in sending the Beverley Knight comeback single (it only finished 21st I think?) while someone like Leona is obviously going to finish higher. For example, the Placebo single didn't even qualify before and they have their own AF.

I think a more appropriate ban would be to ban the top 20/30 artists from the official Buzzjack favourite artists countdown TIP arranges each year. That gives a more current idea of what is cheap and what isn't as the cheapest artists obviously pick up the biggest points.

I'm not liking the Bev fans give her 12 points no matter what argument. It may have some truth, but where will 24 points get you? (she has three main fans, one of them is usually the one sending her) The NF fans have much more voting power (top 10 results for Agnes, Tone and Alcazar) and they got their ban lifted.

that's fair enough, I shouldn't have said that although Agnes, Tone and Alcazar clearly appealed to more people than just the 4 NF loons on here, loads of average NF songs have flopped here...these three songs are absolutely amongst the best of this year's rejects! we all have artists that we love like this though, the occasions that Delta has been entered (not by me), I have given 12 and 7 points respectively...I'm quite happy to admit that I'll vote for nearly any Delta song such is my love for her music as you, Aled and Simon do with Beverley

but I was just trying to emphasise my point that you shouldn't ban most artists who have AF's but not a select few...who says that the comeback single by Jamelia or Enya won't be a worldwide smash :heehee:

What Aaron says pretty much covers my thoughts... I was asleep when it was discussed :heehee:

I'm pretty sure I gave my suppport to it the morning after but I don''t think it was really made clear in the PMs and I hadn't read the thread.. both a bit at fault there. Whilst I do see the positives of this I agree with Aaron banning some and allowing others is slightly :/

I don't think any rule that limits a person's choice of song is a good rule.

But it's not really going to bother me since I don't usually have a desire to enter anyone who has a forum here

I said it on Aug 29 http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=2723261

So who's late now Jack :kink:

glad that the mod has so much confidence in this rule change :kink:

it really has to be all or nothing really or the rule is open to manipulation, which will cause more upset, arguments and bitching down the line i.e.

'I pm'd the mods and they said I couldn't use the new GaGa single as it's too cheap, yet so and so has permission to send the new Jamelia single and she has an AF too'

L.O.V.E's just another word I'll never learn to pronounce  maybe I'll send it :smoke:
I love first come, first served :kink:
So when is the reservation thread allow to open up? I'm guessing I'll be in class...
I believe this evening at some point... Tom is online so maybe soon :o

Oh, and on the issue of re-released albums they will also come under the jurisdiction of this rule - to outline, Disturbia and Take A Bow are banned now (a tad late though LOL, thank god they were never entered to begin with) but Rehab would be permitted.

And any bitching of the 'so and so got to send Jamelia but I don't get to send GaGa' will be ignored as it's frankly childish and on the same level as the 'I sent x to the last contest, why can't I send her again?' argument. If something's not allowed, it's because it's very clearly taking the pish.

OH, and feel free to open up la thread du reservation Tom :dancing:

Great :cheer: Do people want it late tonight or earlier tomorrow?

not too late, I have to go to sleep at 10, because I have work really early tomorrow :snif:

I simply can't miss out on my remaining acts, I've had to give one up already :(

Great :cheer: Do people want it late tonight or earlier tomorrow?

In 15 minutes :)

Well now as I'm on :kink:

But I've always said that for equality and fairness that plenty of warning should be given. I've already seen it be requested by more than one person so an announcement to say it'll open tomorrow PM is I think the best solution.

Tomorrow. More people will be aware of it, significantly more i'd say. And not too late with time please :(
