About the same time as last year I think. Tyron will be opening the nominations for the Best Of in due course, while the Rejects nominations will open after XXI.

I'd be willing to host the rejects competition again but if you guys have bigger and better plans for it then fair enough :)

I think the Rejects deserves the profile - realistically It'll probably attract a lot of the people who don't get in the Best of: XI-XX so this way everybody's going to be entertained in some way ^_^

Oh don't worry :funky: We've got it all figured out so it will operate on roughly the same time-scale as last year...

After some consideration, Kopečka will be going with Bananarama - Twisting for the twenty-first edition of the contest, hosted in Numayania. The song has has been described by a leading Kopeček blogger as being 'akin to Goldfrapp Black Cherry-era doing a darker twin sister of Toxic...AMAZING.', and has been named as a stand-out from Bananarama's shockingly fantastic comeback 'Viva'. The Kopeček selection committee are reported to be going all out to ensure this fantastic song gets the success it deserves, and will be aiming to 'do a Cyndi Lauper' in the results for the contest.

:o Clearly they have good taste. Was considering going to see it as I've never seen the original, so I can't be all "NOT AS GOOD". Then again, the reason I haven't seen the original was because it's never been that appealing to me. Was it good?

I know, it's weird, I've seen others like Grease, Dirty Dancing and The Sound Of Music but I've managed to avoid Fame. Perhaps my Mum wasn't a fan, we used to watch these sorts of things on video a lot when I was younger.

 

I kinda like the new one (shocker) it doesn't try to be the original version, which is good, the Irene Cara version is legendary. I think it's a good, modern spin, on the track. Then again, I don't think I'd be as welcoming if Grease got a similar makeover.

Having originally decided to go with Bananarama - Twisting, in a decision that has both shocked and excited the Kopeček public the Kopeček internal selection committee (ISCBK) announced within the last hour that Twisting has been postponed 'likely until XXII', but that 'as you know what normally happens with these things we aren't guaranteeing anything', and has been replaced by complete unknown Dollface with the stunning electro-urban-pop track Miss Jamaica.

 

 

Pundits and bloggers throughout the nation have been completely wrong-footed by this decision, especially in the face of the near-universal praise that Twisting had accrued throughout Kopečka. However the ISCBK's newly hired public spokeswoman, Priscilla Renea, cited the reasons for the change in a press conference just a few minutes ago.
