Posted September 22, 200915 yr Is it just my imagination, or has urban music been unusualy dominant recently? 7 of the last 8 #1's have been urban in either lead or featured artists, and, depending on definition, at least 15 of this year's 23 #1's. ISTM this is at least partly due to that genre being more popular with downloaders, than say, rock, dance or MOR.

Urban IS the dominant genre so it goes without saying that urban acts will dominate the top spot. Music styles change and one day urban won't have quite the dominance it does now - just bide your time and wait!
