September 28, 200915 yr Nick, I think you should really leave it... you're acting like a leetle bit of a Britney loon right now. Britney has done well but is very much on a downward spiral from her previous years, and is a much smaller star right now compared to Leona, Pink, Rihanna and others. And you know how much I luff her. This will comfortably go Top 10 but with a much better and cheaper collection already out I can't see it selling well.
September 28, 200915 yr Britney smaller star right now than other girls, no. That's all of me. and I didn't start this $h!t.

Considering her current album has sold more than her previous album, which is from previous years, that's surely considered a step up not down? I pretty much agree, it will peak high but won't sell millions. Though it could surprise us all. It depends how well '3' does. Edited September 28, 200915 yr by Scherz

I pretty much agree, it will peak high but won't sell millions. Though it could surprise us all. It depends how well '3' does. I'm afraid you can argue as much as you like. All you have to do is compare Blackout and Circus to pretty much any album made by her previously. I know album sales have slided but not that much. Then you compare Blackout and Circus with albums by other female artists around in 2009. I'm not going to argue about what is essentially fact when I love her anyway. I just don't like people arguing until they're blue in the face when they're clearly wrong.

I wasn't arguing, I was correcting your statement which you stated as fact. You said, without going into detail, that she was on a downward spiral from previous years. On paper, 2007 is a previous year to 2009 so she's gone up, not down. And while we're talking about fact, it is fact that she is the biggest selling female of the decade. I'm not sure I even need to argue that, it speaks for itself.
September 28, 200915 yr Whole THREAD = http://www.planet-flipside.com/vboard/images/smilies/funeral.gif R U really that (finacially) naive + gullible?...AH! i see that U R a $hitney fanatic...that answered that question then! http://209.85.12.227/431/162/emo/shy.gif Anyway... shouldn't your quote read how successful JIVE, her RECORD co. have been given that somehow (fanatics with such low expectations + IQ ?) she shockingly manages to continue 2 B a completely talentless manufactured PUPPET (now with additional dancing/speaking like a braindead zombie (millionth repetative fcuk up = "Hello LONDON !".....In Manchester :w00t: ) and the worst miming humanity has witnessed to a trainwreck quality of a PRE-RECOREDED vocal trk) http://i35.tinypic.com/725auv.gif And I don't care what anyone says 2007 might have been a bad time for her mentally but her music was at her PRIME (Blackout). This Singles Collection is for the fans, celebrating her 10th year anniversary in the music world. And using the argument that her sales have declined since 2000 and 2001 is not valid, since sales as a WHOLE have declined. Circus is the 5th best selling album worldwide atm since sales in November, so I personally think that's pretty succesful. Not to mention Womanizer was her biggest hit since BOMT. And Circus followed suit really well. Her tour is the highest grossing tour of this entire year, so no she isn't declining. I will agree with the fact that this era was a rebuilding era for her career, and I expect for her to be doing alot more with her future albums. I will also agree with the fact she has not done well at all this era in the UK (besides Womanizer), but they can easily be blamed from NO promotion. I think that's only because she is finding the balance in between her career and her personal life, most importantly her kids, not to mention she has been touring since March. But on a worldwide scale she has done very well with sales. When it comes to the singles collection I think it's a good idea marketing wise. It's clear that Jive is trying to connect old fans with new fans and get them on board, especially if they aren't familiar with her first three studio albums. And the Ultimate Fan Box Set sounds IMMENSE, I won't be buying the regular versions (it would be pointless since I have all her other albums) but I WILL be buying the box set. PS - If it weren't for the box set, I would be STRONGLY against this, personally. Edited September 28, 200915 yr by Tyler
September 28, 200915 yr Lead single '3" has been confirmed to premiere on radio tomorrow morning. (Around 12pm UK Time)
September 29, 200915 yr Nick, I think you should really leave it... you're acting like a leetle bit of a Britney loon right now. And you know how much I luff her. This will comfortably go Top 10 but with a much better and cheaper collection already out I can't see it selling well. I completely disagree. Leona is lucky because she has Cowell pumping money into her, so her exposure is a lot higher than Britney's. P!nk has only really just "come back" after a flop album (Try This). Rihanna was on the rise during GGGB and is very likely to continue. But to stay Britney is on a downward spiral, I don't think so. Jive are clearly giving the fans this greatest hits package because there is probably going to be a wait for the next album and maybe they empathize that we waited 3 years for a comeback, so don't want us to wait anymore. Plus Britney's confidence is clearly back, she's almost the same person she was during 2004. She's now singing full songs live (or having her mic turned on <_< ) and her choreography is on point. I think there's a new chapter in her life about to begin. And maybe releasing this greatest hits package now means she can leave behind songs that have were released during bad times (Gimme More, Piece Of Me).
