Lady GaGa 'denies new single axed'

Lady GaGa has dismissed rumours that new single 'Alejandro' has been scrapped in the US after poor feedback from radio station bosses.

The singer was alleged to have become embroiled in a row with her record label over the upcoming release. She wanted to issue the track ahead of the company's preferred song 'Dance In The Dark', Contactmusic reports.

The speculation was sparked following news that 'Alejandro' struggled to make an impact in other territories - entering the Canadian charts at number 78 and in Australia at number 49 - since its release earlier this month.

However, GaGa has now taken to Twitter to reassure fans that the track will be released, posting: "Alejandro is on the radio. F**k it sounds so good, we did it little monsters."

'Alejandro', the follow-up to her huge hit 'Telephone' with Beyoncé, is due out in the US on April 20.

Dance in the Dark is getting Airplay in Australia instead of Alejandro

Totally false. 'Alejandro' is dong well ahead of release in terms of sales and is getting airplay on pop radio

Alejandro is #20 on Australian iTunes. It must be getting some airplay. ;)

Alejandro is doing fine in Australia.

Glad it's not been axed, and if she has a 4th single, it's looking good for "Dance In The Dark" if that's the company's preferred choice :)
I think if she's got another album coming out this year then "Alejandro" should be the closure to The Fame era.

In a way, I agree, but I thought she said either just before TFM came out, or just after, that she wanted 4 or 5 singles

And even if they aren't released as singles, I'd have liked to see music videos for DITD & Monster.

To be fair, Telephone has done v. well in retrospect. It was getting airplay back in October (?) and by the time it was announced as the second single, with a video, everyone had pretty much heard it.

^ yes it did. I thought #1 was out of the question by the release because it had been around for so long.

But after the epic video the only place it deserved was #1.

Alejandro should be final single as beyond that will be too many for a small album like Monster, it won't sell well at all I don't think.

I do wish there was going to be a video for 'Dancing In The Dark' though, like the execs, I prefer it... but GaGa will do well w/e.

The record company just don't want to see this released. Their reasons were that it is struggling to do well everywhere, especially Canada and Australia. Do they actually know it's not to be released for about 2 months yet?

Anyway, Alejandro is summery. I wish the record company would just trust Gaga as she's obviously capable of carrying herself.

The record label are the ones who chose to release it so how can you say they don't see it released? It's not struggling anywhere as it's still in the early days of being released in most countries.

Calm down! It wasn't me saying it. Apparently there was a quarrel between Gaga and her record label. Gaga wants Alejandro released now, but they want Dance In The Dark. Let me find the article:

Lady GaGa has dismissed reports that her next single, Alejandro has been scrapped due to poor feedback from US radio stations.

The Telephone singer, who recently spoke about the new video for Spanish inspired track is alleged to have rowed with her record label over which song from her Fame Monster LP would be her next single after her label preferred Dance In The Dark.

Contactmusic reports that Alejandro has failed to make an impact in countries outside the US after it charted at a poor 78 in Canada and struggled to make the top 50 in Australia, entering the chart at number 49.

However, GaGa has insisted the track will be released posting on her Twitter page: "Alejandro is on the radio. F**k it sounds so good, we did it little monsters."

I'm on Gaga's side

I don't see how the record company can say it's struggling, it's at #17 on iTunes in Australia & #32 on iTunes in Canada. Personally, I don't think that is too bad to say that I'm not aware of a proper release yet, and there's still the music video to come

Also at #53 in the USA iTunes chart
