September 26, 200915 yr Yeah super pleased to see Paparazzi as Gaga's 2nd biggest hit, I always knew it had potential to be a monster hit. Dont think it'll reach the top, but it should have a lengthy chart run.
September 28, 200915 yr Yan's German chart comments - Issue date 25.08 Another week for Marit Larsen at the top of the German singles charts. Once again the biggest new hit of the week comes from a female artist, with Lady Gaga's fourth single entering at #3. As for me "Paparazzi" is her best single so far, with the best video, the placing in the top three is quite deserving. Lady Gaga has also succeeded in bringing all her singles in the German top ten. The least successful in terms of a peak position, but perhaps with the longest run, is "Just Dance", while "Poker Face" remained at the number one for ages, being I think the best single of the year so far. Jumping nine places we can find some fresh male power as Charlie Winston enters the countdown at #12. Unknown to the German charts so far, the English singer has managed to bring his first single "Like A Hobo" to the top of the French charts. Now it's time for Germany to be conquered by his sound and maybe his own UK will come next? Kudos should also go to La Roux whose "Bulletproof" marks a new peak at #13. Next up at #22 we have the follow-up to "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)", one of the worldwide biggest hits this summer. " Hotel Room Service" is the third single of US rapper Pitbull as a lead singer in the German singles chart (though I don't think that the 2008 song "The Anthem" should be counted at all). New hits from two great German bands come in this week at #27 and #29. "Ich War Noch Niemals In New York" is the second single of Sportfreunde Stiller's MTV Unplugged album. A marvelous song for all of you who are into German music, it follows "Ein Kompliment", the guys' second biggest hit so far. Although uncredited the single features the guest appearance of Udo Juergens, a German music veteran, whose own take on the song enters at the lower end of the top 100. I think the song is actually taken from Udo's own musical of the same name. And finally, one of my top favourite German groups has a new single entering the top 30 at #29. As "Ich bin mein Haus" is the fourth single taken from Rosenstolz' latest album it fails to break the top ten as the first three, which however does not mean that the song is not just great... The video shows shots of all Rosenstolz' videos so far.
September 29, 200915 yr Considering the exposure she gets on TV variety shows, Helene Fischer charts quite low in singles, but Zaubermond is still in the Top 50 albums after 63 weeks! :cheer: At the risk of ridicule for liking Schlager (well, some of it), I will admit though that Helene's new song is nowhere near as good as the top songs from her previous albums. So it's weird that it's charted higher than 'Lass mich in dein Leben', which was as close as Schlager gets to an epic... I'm curious to see where the new album will enter, my guess is 8 or 9, because I think her popularity peaked with Zaubermond. It will need some pretty catchy songs on it to match Zaubermond, Schlager thrives on the hummability and joining in factor, lol. My guess is that it won't last 10 weeks on the chart based on this first song. With her Russian background, can't they see that the next move is Eurovision, instead of an ever speeding conveyor belt of rushed albums? She'd get the best German result since the 90s.
September 29, 200915 yr Author If a Schlager singer would enter the Eurovision for Germany, they would flop (again)
September 29, 200915 yr schlager is completely out of fashion in the ESC now...shame nobody told Sweden :heehee:
September 29, 200915 yr If a Schlager singer would enter the Eurovision for Germany, they would flop (again) I never said she had to enter with a Schlager song. ;) Helene Fischer is young, attractive, has a nice personality, was born in Eastern Europe, and is a really good singer, so why not ESC, but with a more modern song? She's better than a lot of the stuff she sings to be honest - such as the current poor single. (I quite like Schalger, in an ironic way, even way back to Cindy und Bert and Juergen Marcus ha ha, but even I've decided that Helene's new single is rubbish!) But I've heard her sing standards, also sing in English, and there could be a lot more to her than being trapped in a Schlager ghetto. Maybe we'll never know, as she releases yet another Schlager album for the homes of the 60+ and the Majorca beaches, possibly she's happy there. But it would be nice to see her stretch herself musically and as an entertainer. Edited September 29, 200915 yr by Kit Curran
September 29, 200915 yr  You may huh, but hey, I have the weirdest selection of musical taste of anyone I know. I bet you don't know anybody in Germany with both Helene Fischer AND Tobias Luetzenkirchen on their Ipod! And I'm English, haha. :D Come to think of it, that would be one freaky collaboration. It might give some of Helene's, shall we say, older fans heart failure! :o
September 30, 200915 yr Author BTW in the new German chart the pussies and the bitches have taken over the singles.... :D
September 30, 200915 yr Sexy :kink: And I'm with you Kit about enjoying Schlager in an ironic way
