Posted September 27, 200915 yr Right, so I was quite bored and decided to look back at all the songs that I really like which I first discovered through hearing them in this competition... I came up with 35 that I'd still happily listen to, so I'm going to count down the top 30. This is a list purely of top discoveries, and not top songs. If I already knew it before it was entered it doesn't qualify for this list so some of my 12s ('What Else Is There?', 'The Girl & The Robot', 'You Don't Know Me', 'Chelsea'....) do not appear and this is also why some countries which I've voted for a lot don't make a single appearence. Oh and I can't be arsed with numerals so numbers it is. The 5 that just missed out: Frahliso (BJSC 17) The Brownies 'Cougar' (7 pts awarded) Jrk-off (BJSC 16) Space Cowboy 'Falling Down' (8 pts awarded) Kingdom of Shadow (BJSC 9) Margaret Berger 'Will You Remember Me Tomorrow' (8 pts awarded) Kingdom of Shadow (BJSC 18) Rosanna 'Gameboy' (7 pts awarded) Torchwood (BJSC 18) Nicole Statements 'Taller' (6 pts awarded) Poor Kingdom. :(
September 27, 200915 yr Author 30 RIVANDIA (BJSC 4) Basia Bulat 'In The Night' (10 pts) CebHAvPHyyU The first song I properly discovered, and one of only two songs from the first 3 contests I entered to appear, shows how much better the contest has become....
September 27, 200915 yr Author aww, well atleast we got a mention  There might be more to come! ^_^
September 27, 200915 yr Author 29 RIVANDIA (BJSC 7) Kleerup ft Lykke Li 'Until We Bleed' (DNQ) 4rGvq3cdJkk Rivandia again! With the first of just three songs which didn't qualify for a final...
September 27, 200915 yr Author 28 ASHTON (BJSC 16) Alex Roots 'Don't Stop Looking' (10 pts) AlzI-zAQw-Q In retrospect this probably shouldn't have received quite so many points, but still a good song.
September 27, 200915 yr Author 27 MDICE (BJSC 10) Brandy 'Right Here (Departed)' (7 pts) yyW6_kJmCKg The winner of the 10th BJSC. This the first of five songs in this contest to be in this countdown. Easily my favourite contest.
September 27, 200915 yr Author 26 XANAGA (BJSC 18) Ashley Tisdale 'How Do You Love Someone' (5 pts) d9jDrG6Bw4E Probably the most surprising points I've ever given, to me at least. It should probably have had more really, prevented by my inner snob. :(
September 27, 200915 yr Author 25 SANGRIA (BJSC 10) Yelle 'Ce Jeu' (4 pts) AR3CaNQgJHE Another from BJSC 10. No other song in here scored less than four points...
September 27, 200915 yr Author 24 XYLAND (BJSC 19) Medina 'You & I' (6 pts) b_AF99dZEow Another song that's hardly typical of my tastes and I liked a lot more than I thought I would...
September 27, 200915 yr Author 23 FSR RONTVIA (BJSC 7) Maria & Mira 'Mine All Mine' (12 pts) XVKIiqqtQAM The first song I awarded 12 points to to appear and the first song to appear from the country that tops my voting history. A Eurovision entrant and the person who sung 'Headhunted'? This should be awful. It's far from it though.
September 27, 200915 yr Author 22 QUOTOSIBB (BJSC 20) David Guetta ft Estelle 'One Love' (8 pts) 37YUA3T5Byg The first of four to appear from the most recent BJSC, not bad considering I thought the quality of it was generally quite awful! It was saved by four rather excellent songs.
September 27, 200915 yr Author 21 ASHTON (BJSC 13) Lorelei Carlson 'Alone' (6 pts) vHULypPmnJI Despite not having similar tastes Ashton have always done pretty well for me and still sit comfortably in the top 10 of my voting history. This is their highest appearecne here.
September 27, 200915 yr Ashton definately featuring heavily. Phil has sent some very original and quite epic pop songs, almost all of which have been massively underated.
