Posted June 30, 200619 yr Is anybody a bit raw that "Disco Down" from Light years wasn't a single yet "Please Stay" (yuck) was? It annoys me everytime I listen to the album. It's simply brilliant. Disco Down and Love Affair = my favourite should be singles. The girl can make gold!
June 30, 200619 yr disco down should have been released,,i really like please stay but it would have been a better album track than single and disco down should have been released,i think had it been released it would have charted higher than please stays peak of number 10 also butterfly should have been released instead of come into my world, again i really like come into my world but butterfly would have been stronger as a single
June 30, 200619 yr Author "Butterfly" was on light years though and "Come into my world" was on Fever. I REALLY dislike "come into my world" such a weak choice for a single and the production is just a watered down CGYOOMH. "Please Stay" did well considering it was released in December. Disco Down had single written ALLLLL over it. and Love Affair was brilliant. Maybe a bit to clubby for kylie as a commerical single release but still amazing.
June 30, 200619 yr how i mixed that up i dont know wasnt thinking staright,,ya butterfly or disco down would have made better single releases burning up is the fever track i should have said to be a single instead of come into my world both fever and light years album had many tracks that would have made good singles, but to be fair all the ones that were picked as singles all made the top 10 so they all served well
June 30, 200619 yr Author Yeah true. Burning Up is just to cool! So laid back yet dance floor at the same time. Pure genious! Since I heard she'd back in the studio I have gone back into Kylie fever. Poor Dannii will be forgeotten for awhile. lol
June 30, 200619 yr i listen to fever and light years alot to this day they both contain many many a classic kylie song, when kylie returned to the music world in 2000 i would have never thought she would have been so so huge and successfull i expected and knew she would do well but noyt at the high level she achieved it really was kylie mania in 2002 she was everywhere and loved by everyone
June 30, 200619 yr Author I totally agree. When she came back it was like WOW she's done it. She did such a 180. I remember at school during the impossible princess era I got mocked for likeing kylie and my friends were like "I liked her when I was little but not now!" Then suddenly she came back and shot to number 1 and was loved again.
June 30, 200619 yr yes i know exectly what you mean,,i went through a similar thing,,when spinning around was released i remember a girl group girl thing been tipped to be huge and shoot straight to number 1,kylie wasnt expected to beat them,i remember reading the charts and been over the moon to see kylie number 1 and girl thing at number 8,then it was never under estimate kylie in the press
June 30, 200619 yr Author Girl Thing? I remember their song, hideous! lol Edited June 30, 200619 yr by Ozx
June 30, 200619 yr after such huge hype around them at the time they ended up been nothing more than a sort of one hit wonder,in the music business there are times when you never know whats going to happen
June 30, 200619 yr Burning up and disco down soooooo should ahev been singles. I love these songs. Come into my world should not have been released. And i do like Please Stay.
July 1, 200619 yr i myself really like please stay and come into my world they are good songs that i like and enjoy but i think disco down and burning up could have made it better as singles and had given the chance could have sold more, but as i said earlier please stay and come into my world both made the top 10 so its not a case that they were flops in any way,she kept the top 10 consecutive hits tble going which is good news who knows public in general may not have takin aswell to disco down and burning up and they might have done worse, but i doubt that would have happened butterfly would also have made a brilliant single,,kylie delivered butterfly excellently at the on a night like this tour,it came accross as a song that could have been huge in clubs all over the world
July 1, 200619 yr i think im the only one who doesnt see how butterfly is so good. i love please stay and for a summer type song to get top10 in the cristmas week sales is brilliant.
July 1, 200619 yr thats a very valid point about please stay,it did well for the type of song it was was at the time of year it was released,i like the song myself but it came from an album that consisted of very good tracks in full
July 1, 200619 yr its def a fun song but disco down was soooooooooooo a missed oppurtunity in my eyes.
July 1, 200619 yr Author Please Stay is a bit bland I think. average. Im really confused about why it was chosen as a single. Its probably her worst video of recent times also (excluding the early saw vids, lol) Edited July 1, 200619 yr by Ozx
July 1, 200619 yr please stay seems divided among kylie fans many like it and many dont ,its not my faveourite kylie single but it wouldnt be my least faveourite either
July 1, 200619 yr overall disco down would have probably the better choice as a single and i think alot more kylie fans prefer disco down to please stay in general aswell
July 2, 200619 yr well, if you think Disco Down should have been released, what about Your disco needs you?? it is a far better than DD and it should have treated with an international release. :)
