I think it worked out perfectly, another number one with an album sold so many was probably always gonna be a tough ask - but I'm happy enough with it being a classic #2 (aside from hating the track that blocked it), and it's such a pure summer song they chose the perfect time to release it.

Great to see that such a great song changed you to a hardcore fan, its a fantastic song that i so wanted to go to number 1 at the time and i also was a bit peeved it wasnt single number 2 but overall it all worked out well in the end.

Definitely agree about pricing accordingly rather than fleecing everyone and it paid off.

It’s incredible that Aphrodite only sold 882 copies on release week on vinyl! I remember not even wanting it on vinyl and just bought it for the collection (and have been glad I did ever since!).

Only just opened one (the lilac) of the 3, very basic. As you say not bothered that much as it was purely a fan purchase to help it chart. Not ordered a vinyl yet but if I do hopefully it’s more like the tension single vinyls…they are good products. Funny just noticed Maverick symbol on the rear! Didn’t know that record label still existed. Edit…just checked my Madame X Vinyl…Maverick was on that so it’s actually never gone away.

All of this - they were originally listed as being in plastic cases and a more of a ‘proper’ CD release then relegated to card sleeves and CD-R. I’m over the moon that they rushed them out otherwise we’d be looking at a 45-out this week rather than 8-out, I’m just glad for the quality that they priced them accordingly.

Madonna confirmed during one of the release parties there would be no music video’s this era, just the Confession II film, so I wouldn’t expect a music video. The Bring Your Love music video was just taken from the film and extended. Love Sensation wasn’t even in the film, so they’ve nothing to work with. Hope Kylie doesn’t go the no music videos route for her next album

I'm sure I read that a video hadn't and wouldn't be made. In truth, the lyric video would have sufficed without the lyrics over it.

Do we think there is any chance a video was made? Like even around the Time of the G Norton doc? Or will this be featured on a new Madge deluxe album for more streams? Will be interesting to see if any remixes etc come out this Friday? I expect a Romy one at least or the 7" edit

Given it a few streams throughout the week to try and help, although I know it's basically pissing in the wind. Hopefully it'll get a second chart week whenever the vinyls are dispatched.

I’ve finally caught up on this thread! I’m still feeling ecstatic that Kylie (and Madonna!) have achieved another Top 10 single. Never count them out! As nice as it would be for Love Sensation to stick around in the charts, that would only have been a bonus. It got to #8 and that can never be taken away from it. ❤️ I’m glad the physicals sold as well as they did. I was a little disappointed that the discs are actually CD-Rs though, rather than proper commercially pressed CDs. I guess that’s why they were able to rush them out - using CD-Rs is a much quicker (and cheaper) process - but also lower quality in terms of durability. It’s still nice to own these physicals, and to be fair they were pretty cheap (originally £1.99 each). Still, it’s a little deceptive of the Madonna store to market them as CDs, when strictly speaking they aren’t. I’m looking forward to receiving the 7” vinyl but I would be surprised if they can rush it with that format.

It was the song which turned me from an admirer to a hardcore fan that summer so it'll always be a really special song for me, and honestly you can't really get pop better than this. Nice to see it get a reappraisal on the Sky advert too!

7 Love at First Sight UK chart peak: #2 From: Fever Going back and revisiting all of Kylie's singles to make this countdown has really solidified just how perfect the run of singles from Fever was. Kylie truly captured the essence of and gave us sublime, timeless pop brilliance. Love at First Sight is just another example of that. I'll be the first to admit that with this song, its continued presence as the closing song in the encore of some of her tours made me tire of it just a little (Showgirl tour, however, you will forever be iconic; having a confetti-filled celebration with this following Especially For You), but pressing play on the studio version is like listening to it for the first time all over again. The music video is brilliant, and we also have the stripped version to enjoy from The Abbey Road Sessions, allowing the lyrical content of the song to come through more powerfully away from the pop-bop production. Wild to think that this was another #2 peak for Kylie when you consider the continued adoration from fans and casuals alike.

Yes it seems to have just fallen by the way side now and unfortunatly totally forgotten about amonst the hype around love sensation.

Ya it would make sense but it doesnt really work for Kylies schedule.

Madonna has a lot of MTV Video award nominations. Its held on 27th September, USA Think Kylie has the AFL footie final on 26th so can't see her catching a flight to USA literally straight after to perform with Madge :)
