October 16, 200915 yr then you are wrong and dont understand what 'ethnic' is.... it aint a crime to belong to a 'non british' or european ethnic group, an asian is an asian, an afro carribean is an afro carribean, that is there race, their ethnic group which you/they/we cannot escape. if they are born here their nationality is british, not their/our ethnicity. Actually, this is a fair point.... I'm not "ethnically British".... I'm Scots/Irish (probably by way of Germany which is where the Celts originated....), so I guess the BNP would be deporting ME then......
October 16, 200915 yr .... the bnp are right, ashley cole can never call himself 'ethnically british'... the grey area is what exactly is ethnically british?... or even can you be ethnically british. this is why i think we are ethnically european as historically the white various nationalities have migrated. the bnp put alot of weight on being 'anglo saxon' but as we now know most of us who are mainly of anglo saxon stock, have alot of other genetic material in us... hell EVEN THE ANGLO SAXONS THEMSELVES WERE NOT A PURE RACE... i dont think there is or really ever has been a 'pure' european race as as far back as we can trace even early man moved about. so as i see it, us white europeans are by nature a complete mixture of various celtic originated tribes who lived on this part of the planet. i think it will take many generations of inter breeding between true ethnic groups before 'none european' genetics will become part of the local ethnic grouping. and i dont think that would be a good thing, as i agree to an extent that if nationalities lose their identity then that surely defeats the object of embracing other cultures, surely its other nationalities/cultures differences to our own that makes them attractive, interesting, enriching, individual. i think the real goal to aim for within integrating nations is to hold on to our/their own identities, strongly, no watering down, but for each to respect eachother and embrace the differences. id hate the future generations to be a mixed race of 'coffee coloured people by the score' (10 points to the first one who recognises that referance! lol), with no national identity, but a mixture of worldwide cultures.

Well, this certainly isn't what the BNP is about... They're quite clearly dreaming of some "Britain" that simply never existed.... A bit like Hitler and his "dream" of an ethnically "pure" Germanic Aryan race, or Milosovic and his "dream" of a ethnically "pure" Serbia..... The BNP have to be rejected at all costs, they are Nazi lunatics who are just as dangerous as Milosovic and Karadzic ever were......

October 22, 200915 yr It should be live IMO as I'm sure the BBC will edit it to make him look bad. It's being recorded earlier this evening than it usually is. :(
October 22, 200915 yr 30 anti-fascist protesters have broken through a security cordon in place around BBC Television Centre in west London. Over 100 people are protesting outside the corporation's television headquarters ahead of the arrival of British National Party leader Nick Griffin for his appearance on tonight's Question Time. Unite Against Fascism said that 16 coaches of people are expected to join the protest throughout the afternoon. Shortly before 4:30pm, 30 people entered the BBC Television Centre grounds through a set of iron gates, and it is understood that a handful may have entered the reception area of the building. They have all been escorted from the premises. Griffin's appearance tonight has been cleared by the BBC Trust on the basis that it should not interfere in a programme before transmission on the basis that it would "undermine the editorial independence" of the corporation. It has, however, attracted stinging criticism from anti-fascist groups and Cabinet minister Peter Hain, who described Griffin's planned appearance as "abhorrent". -source: digital spy
October 22, 200915 yr It should be live IMO as I'm sure the BBC will edit it to make him look bad. It's being recorded earlier this evening than it usually is. :( I dont think you need to edit Nick Griffin to make him look bad tbh Chris. Also they cant fit the whole thing on TV, hence why they edit it, hence why it isnt live.
October 22, 200915 yr I dont think you need to edit Nick Griffin to make him look bad tbh Chris. Also they cant fit the whole thing on TV, hence why they edit it, hence why it isnt live. Someone on another forum said it's usually broadcast "as live" with very little editing though.
October 22, 200915 yr "Protesters are also gathering in Hull, where Richard Bacon is presenting the late evening phone in for Radio 5 Live. Apparently they are angry that he's going to be hosting a post-Question Time phone-in. At the moment he's stuck in an Ask pizzeria, waiting to be escorted into the venue two security guards."-- "BBC just covered a brief "back door" interview with Griffin, or rather a couple of questions were fired at him. The BNP leader was asked if he expected such an amount of demonstrators. "Yes I was rather expecting that, Labour party financed groups from all over the country are bringing groups here today," he said." Untrue, Unite Against Facism is indepently run and is running the main protest, Griffin just seems to want to have every stab at Labour he can, i'm sure more later.
October 22, 200915 yr i think its pretty ironic that those who claim the moral high ground are actually causing trouble! i mean, what do they hope to achieve by protesting? or at least do it PEACEFULLY..
October 22, 200915 yr i think its pretty ironic that those who claim the moral high ground are actually causing trouble! i mean, what do they hope to achieve by protesting? or at least do it PEACEFULLY.. TOO MAKE AN IMPACT MAYBE? someone doeswnt get protesting, maybe if the BNP were not violent thugs, we wouldnt need to prtest in such ways.
October 22, 200915 yr TOO MAKE AN IMPACT MAYBE? someone doeswnt get protesting, maybe if the BNP were not violent thugs, we wouldnt need to prtest in such ways. 2 wrongs dont make a right though, its not the bnp acting like violent thugs which is the irony.... and atm the bnp are a legitimate legal party and therefore are allowed publicity.
October 22, 200915 yr 2 wrongs dont make a right though, its not the bnp acting like violent thugs which is the irony.... and atm the bnp are a legitimate legal party and therefore are allowed publicity. OK you keep on defending racist views and neo-Nazi parties being publicised. Nice to see you have decent morals.
October 22, 200915 yr OK you keep on defending racist views and neo-Nazi parties being publicised. Nice to see you have decent morals. Whether you agree with their views or not the BNP is a legal political party with MEP'S now so has as much right to be on QT as any other party has. These protesters are pathetic as they're blocking Wood Lane now and inconveniencing commuters. They've achieved nothing though as Griffin's now said to be inside the building surrounded by heavy BBC security. Edited October 22, 200915 yr by Crazy Chris
October 22, 200915 yr OK you keep on defending racist views and neo-Nazi parties being publicised. Nice to see you have decent morals. oh grow up and get off your high horse ffs.... where have i defended their views?.... NOWHERE! im NOT going to be part of any hyperbolic lynch mob, because quite often those claiming to be 'in the right' are in fact in the wrong in the way they execute their distaste. we live in a democracy and atm the bnp are a legitimate party, to change that it has to be done LEGALLY because any lynch mob will give the bnp SUPPORT... debate, discuss, legally...
October 22, 200915 yr Whether you agree with their views or not the BNP is a legal political party with MEP'S now so has as much right to be on QT as any other party has. These protesters are pathetic as they're blocking Wood Lane now and inconveniencing commuters. They've achieved nothing though as Griffin's now said to be inside the building surrounded by heavy BBC security. "According to a source in the building, about 8 policemen just ran through, shouting to bystanders to keep out of the way. It is believed the police were hunting demonstrators who may have found their way to the audience entrance of a studio." yes, "achieved nothing". I'm sorry you guys, but i am against the BNP being publicised, "legitimate party" or not, they are still disgusting beings and show not be publicisied. they may be legally a legitimate party, but imo they are not legit, the fact they are legally shows how corrupt this country is. I dont see how just because they are legally legit this makes it right for them to be publicised, the fact you are defending that right (chris and rob) I find pretty morally low.
October 22, 200915 yr OH BTW ROB, WHEN THEY ENTERED THE BBC IT WASNT EXACTLY UNPEACEFUL: Lukas Keudic, 20, a student at King's College London, was one of those who managed to get to the doors of the studio where the controversial debate is due to be held later. He said: "We were in the main reception next to Piers Morgan when about 30 police officers turned up. There were about 10 to 20 of us and we were just standing there chanting in a peaceful protest. "We spoke to the police and they started grabbing us." Morgan was at Television Centre to record an interview with Dannii Minogue for his ITV1 chatshow. "They were peaceful – they weren't hitting anyone. I believe that like Nick Griffin later tonight, they were exercising their right to free speech. I gave them a little clap. Once they established that I wasn't Nick Griffin it was fine," he told MediaGuardian.co.uk. Morgan said he then went upstairs as the police arrived to round up the protesters and remove them from the BBC premises. "The good news is that free speech got a fillip and the bad news is that I survived," he added. The police are the unpeaceful ones, yet again.
October 22, 200915 yr James Robinson has been speaking to protesters outside the television centre, one of whom has claimed he was assaulted by police. Heathcote Ruthven, 19 year old drama student, said he was hit with a baton by a policeman. "We weren't being that aggressive," Ruthven said. The student had a one inch cut on the back of his head and his back was splattered with blood. A fellow protestor said: "He's going to need a few stitches." Other protesters called an ambulance. Aidan Duffield, a student from Birmingham, was in a crowd gathered near a gate to the television centre. "We were being pushed forward by people behind," Duffield said. "I fell on the floor and one copper accused me of doing it deliberately, and said if I did it again he'd punch me in the nose." incidents like this where police assult people unnessarcarily happen way to often, and people wonder why police arent trusted?
October 22, 200915 yr Does anyone agree entirely, with all policies of the party they vote for at the ballot box? Does voting Labour make you a de facto supporter of the Iraq war? Immigration is the core issue that is getting the BNP votes not racism per se. There is a need for immigration, to generate tax revenue when the baby boomer generation hits retirement age to cope with the pension burden on top of the existing demands on national expenditure. Consider the effects of immigration in the last twelve years. The amount of people willing to work at the minimum wage or less has increased driving down the wages, for people at the bottom, and is increasing the benefits culture. How do you convince people to work for 40 hours, for less money than they receive on benefits doing nothing? There is more pressure on the woefully inadequate social housing stock. Introducing new communities, which have a higher birth rate, is only going to exacerbate the problem. If wages at the bottom of the ladder incentivised people to work, and there was adequate housing for all; would the BNP have the support to even be an issue?
