It's pretty unlikely it'll hit 16 weeks - it might theoretically hit 15 weeks, which would involve it still being #1 the Saturday the week after the ESC, but I doubt my love will extend to it staying there 2 weeks after the contest

generally, as soon as ESC finishes, maximum 2 weeks after, I completely stop listening to all of the entries for the rest of the year  having said that, I continued to listen to Fairytale and It's My Time through the duration of 2009 :D

I really like Kom... hope they choose to send that but it doesn't quite sound like a winner to me. It'd be a good winner if it did though, so I hope it doesn't get disqualified. Don't think much to the others mentioned in this thread in all honesty, but I'm yet to hear the Alcazar song.
I think it's quite ridiculous how heavily legislated MF is if Peter/Sibel get disqualified for someone leaking a minute clip of their songs - I mean, don't SVT even put up a minute clip on the website themselves prior to the semi? :/

Translated on google

Over the weekend, there were both Peter Jöback "Hollow" by Sibel 'Stop' on several file sharing sites.

These are the enminutersversioner commonly played by SVT on Fridays. The songs are out there before the allowable date should normally lead to washing.

SVT sat yesterday in the emergency meeting and launched an internal investigation to find out exactly how the leak happened.

- This is so sad. We must now look at how this happened. We have set people up to track user accounts and responsible for this. We will notify the police if we get a name, "says project leader Thomas Hall.

It's only a small group who have access to these songs - how could they have leaked?

- We do not know if it's with us or with the record companies that went wrong. We can not rule out that someone had entered and email accounts have been hacked.

"It will be an advantage for them"

Sibel. Photo: Sven Lindwall Before SVT's investigation is complete, hangs a cleaning shot over both Peter Jöback as Sibel.

- If it clearly appears that the record companies, or someone closely associated with them made it here, it may be so. It will be an advantage for them. We need to compensate for the other six participants. It may be that we publish each of the eight contributions in Malmö as early as tomorrow (today).

Mattias Wachtmeister at Warner behind Sibel:

- Of course we have not distributed it, but the damage is already done. Of course, we may also have been shredded. We hear of us to our site and ask them to delete the songs.

Marten Aglander, CEO Roxy recordings that deal with Peter Jöback, has not been possible to reach for comment.

Why don't they just put the other 1 minute clips up now and be done with it. It's hardly going to give them that big an advantage, Sweden think into things way too much. I mean, how many people listen to the clips, a few thousand max? and you can hardly make a fair judgement from the clips anyway.
I commented about this on Expressen, that they have to think less about stuff, like.. every article about the olympics is about Norway
I pray that "Kom" doesn't get disqualified. I mean, it's already in the final, and billions of people have already voted for it in the semi, so those people would want their money back

Sibel - Stop - really didn't expect Sibel to ever do anything like this. Sounds excellent - not sure if Sweden will put it through to the final, is it too contemporary? sounds more like a radio smash than a Eurovision song. 9/10

Py Backman - Magisk Stjärna - quite bland and incredibly dated sounding, sounds like it's straight out of the early 90's. 4/10

Neo - Human Frontier - it's the Swedish Mika! hooray! it's a bit Rongedal and they did well - I can see this going to Andra Chansen but not straight to the final. sounds decent from the clip though. 8/10

Lovestoned - Thursdays - interesting looking band...this song draws musical influences from across Europe by the sound of it - it's promising, I like the clip. 8/10

Anna Bergendahl - This Is My Life - not bad, sounds like a Dido song to be honest with the tempo and production. Could be better in full - her voice is probably an acquired taste though. 7.5/10

Pernilla Wahlgren - Jag vill om du vågar - Schlager, finally :cheer: this is catchy! I can see this going to at least Andra Chansen 8.5/10

Noll Disciplin - Idiot - Horrible, I hate this type of music. I'm afraid that it will go to the final by default for being the token pop punk song :( the melody isn't that bad but pretty typical of the genre. 2/10

Peter Joback - Hollow - this is very Moving On in the verses. The chorus is quite good and it will obviously be a grower. Direct till Globen. 8/10

decent semi, I expect Anna, Py and maybe Lovestoned to be the bottom three. Peter will go to the final with either Sibel or Pernilla I reckon...Neo and Noll Disciplin scream 2nd chance/5th place

Oh thank god they did this and not dsq
Some good songs there. Really don't understand the fuss behind Peter Joback, absolutely horrible. Lovestoned is my favourite out of the lot, followed by Sibel, Neo and Anna Bergendahl. Not fussed on any of the rest.

Sibel - Stop - Catchy $h!t. BJSC material for sure. Haha! Loving the chorus. Doubt it'll go direkt till Globen tbh, Andra Chansen at best. 9/10

Py Bäckman - Magisk Stjärna - Dated crap. Seriously cringeworthy. Might go to Andra Chansen LOL D: 3/10

NEO - Human Frontier - Scissor Sisters crossed with Mika and Alcazar music. Average. 6/10

Anna Bergendahl - This is my life - Lovely. A massive grower. The music is wonderful. Ecstatic to hear it in full. 9.5/10

Lovestoned - Thursdays - Interesting. I wonder how it would sound in full. I am loving the female voice in the chorus. 8/10

Peter Jöback - Hollow - This is so going till Globen. Darin-style. -_- Even though it's average. 7/10

Pernilla Wahlgren - Jag vill om du vågar - Not keen on such kind of music. Sounds okay but nothing really special. 6/10

Noll Disciplin - Idiot - Pop punk is the genre about 80% of music of which is a load of crappest dull $h!t humankind has ever heard/will ever hear. This isn't exception imo. Just noise. I'm open-minded to ANY genre but this song is seriously terrible. 1/10

Congrats Noll Disciplin! They've been awarded as the worst song of Melodifestivalen this year! :cheer:

Does anyone know if theres been a time in the last few years where the winner of the public vote also won the jury as well? As obviously some years they are complete opposites?

Peter's track is just average IMO, why has there been so much fuss for him?

Because he is very popular in Scandinavia, He is actually VERY popular in Norway :)

I think last time it happened was 2007 when the Ark won.

I'm getting a big Taylor Swift vibe from the lead singer of Timoteij, what with the long blonde hair and guitar - I think it's obvious that this song will appeal to young and old in Sweden due to the more traditional elements of it, the only native language song in the final, and for the teens, they could easily be any 4 girls plucked from obscurity - something to aspire to!

although they might all be too busy voting for Darin, Ola and Eric anyway
