April 30, 201114 yr I really don't get how something like "Motivation" does well in the US and "Commander" fails to gain any interest. "Commander" is a career-defying song.

Produced by Jim Jonsin and written by Rico Love, “Motivation” is the lead single from ROWLAND’s upcoming third solo album, to be released by Universal Motown in Fall 2011. “[‘Motivation’] may prove to be the most ‘emotionally supportive sex song’ of 2011.” .“Motivation” was made available for purchase at iTunes on April 12 and immediately became the No. 1 most-added single at urban radio. It is currently the No. 1 Greatest Gainer on the BDS Urban Chart for its fourth consecutive week as well as the No. 1 Greatest Gainer on the Mediabase Urban Published Chart for its second consecutive week, in addition to holding the No. 4 spot on iTunes’ Top R&B/Soul Songs chart. “Motivation” is also climbing Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, its Digital Songs chart, and its Ringtones chart. In addition to making a huge impact on the charts, “Motivation” is winning praise from the media. People magazine recently spotlighted “Motivation” in its Hot Singles column and describes it as a “hypnotic grinder.” Perez Hilton calls the track “VERY impressive!” and TheFader.com writes, “[‘Motivation’] may prove to be the most ‘emotionally supportive sex song’ of 2011.” KELLY ROWLAND achieved global pop stardom as a member of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling groups of all time. She first stepped out on her own in 2002 with the release of her RIAA gold-certified solo debut album, Simply Deep, which reached No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2007, ROWLAND’s second solo album, Ms. Kelly, hit No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide. Scheduled to be released in Fall 2011, her hotly anticipated upcoming third solo album features a host of A-list producers and songwriters, including Dr. Luke, Stargate, Salaam Remi, Ne-Yo, Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, RedOne, Tricky Stewart, Esther Dean, Rodney Jerkins, and David Guetta, among others.
May 12, 201114 yr Ascending to No. 3 this week on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs with "Motivation" featuring Lil Wayne, Kelly Rowland has revealed the title of her upcoming album to Billboard. Her third solo project and first for Universal Motown will be called Here I Am. In addition, "Motivation" thus far marks the singer/songwriter's second-biggest hit since being featured on Nelly's 2002 single "Dilemma". The song perched atop the Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for 10 weeks and nine weeks, respectively. "I was talking to my product manager," recalls Rowland, who's currently working in Los Angeles. "I said I wanted people to know that this is the record, the sound I've been working toward... that here I am. And she said, that's the title. It just connected with my heart and the music as well. It stands for everything I've gone through and thought about for this record as a woman. It's very strong." Rowland plans to pinpoint the album's fall release date by the end of this week. The former Destiny's Child member is collaborating with a host of producers and songwriters, including Dr. Luke, Stargate, RedOne, Tricky Stewart and Rodney Jerkins. "Motivation" was produced by Jim Jonsin and written by Rico Love. Commenting on Beyoncé being honored with the Billboard Millennium Award at the Billboard Music Awards on May 22, Rowland says, "I'm so excited for my sister. Nobody deserves it more than she does. Ever since we were kids, we've worked hard, and she's carried that into her solo career."
May 12, 201114 yr Love the new album name, but we have been waiting for this album for WAY too long now! She better have the dance singles on the UK version thats all im saying
June 2, 201114 yr http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lm5bv0dB6Z1qalhozo1_500.jpg Apparently it's the new album cover.
June 2, 201114 yr I really hope that is the album cover, its absolutely gorgeous! I like the effects on her name too! :D
June 2, 201114 yr That supposed album cover is incredibly cheap. The world and his wife have used that font already and she looks a bit hard-faced. It's not exactly the new Ms Kelly.
June 2, 201114 yr The effect is sending my eyes a bit funny, but if they got rid of the effect (keeping the font the same still), I'd love it. Really like the picture.
June 2, 201114 yr that pic is old - surley they are not using it as the album cover!!! Its months till the release anyways!! heres hoping that haters or im that chick is considered for the next single after motivation!!
June 2, 201114 yr I don't understand why neither Shake Them Haters Off or On & On never got pushed as a single. I think the former could do big things in the US and the latter could've easily acted as a stopgap single in the UK between Forever & A Day and whatever she releases next here. It's great that her US career is finally in healthy shape again but they seem to have abandoned the places where she actually has regular hits completely. Her management is shambolic.
June 2, 201114 yr I really like that artwork, despite it being an old picture. And Jark, that's the font she has used on the single covers, so I think it would be silly to change it now. I agree the effect on the font isn't great though, but I really like what they've done to the image.
June 2, 201114 yr That album cover isn't official, was designed by someone who posts on SIN called 'stephen1108'. The effect on the name is nasty, glad it's not official! (Having said that now I bet the official one will be much worse, always happens!)

June 3, 201114 yr Kelly Rowland finalises Here I Am In an interview for the RFP, an insider from Universal Motown dished the gossip on Rowland's new album. According to our source, Rowland's team is meeting with Tricky Stewart and Rico Love during this week to finalise the artwork and track listings. It was already agreed that UK-top ten hit "Commander" would feature on the international album, but will now also appear on the US album as track thirteen (the bonus track). The other international single, "Forever and a Day", was helmed by Danish producer Jonas Jerberg. It too is a bonus track, but only for the international album. "Grown Woman" and "Rose Colored Glasses" (previous US lead singles) will make the album, the first in the US and the latter internationally. Finally other songs set to appear on all editions include "I'm That Chick" (Tricky Stewart), "King of Kings" (David Guetta), "Love Is the Greatest" (Salaam Remi), "Motivation" (Jim Jonsin), "Take Everything" with Pitbull (Jim Jonsin) plus other songs by Swizz Beatz, RedOne and Rodney Jerkins, as well as more songs penned by Rico Love, Tricky Stewart and The-Dream. The only confirmed feature definately on the album is Lil Wayne, though tracks have been sent to Rick Ross, Fergie and Nicki Minaj for vocals to be recorded. The album will be no more than 12 tracks excluding bonus material. A second disc is also being discussion which would include "Commander" (feat. Nelly), "Motivation" (feat. R. Kelly) plus two-three other remixes and 2 new songs. Our source added that a second single is currently being mastered and could be released as early as mid-late June 2011. TV promo and concerts are also apparently on the way.
June 3, 201114 yr :o Praise the lord that we're getting 'Rose Colored Glasses'! Ideally, it should've been a single in place of 'Forever and a Day', but I think it's a bit too late to release it now, so I can't wait for the new single that's coming soon instead. :D Also, a duet with Fergie would be MUCH APPRECIATED - I can see it working out really well and in the process becoming a worldwide #1 smash. :kink: OH OH - actually, with a Nicki Minaj duet, that can become the WW smash; although I don't know which one I'm looking forward to most as all three artists are amazing, but I've been fans of them for different lengths of time. June 3, 201114 yr Eugh I hate all the different tracklists!!! I will just have to download the missing tracks when she releases it here and add them onto the album  and only 12 tracks (13/14 including bonus tracks!)?? The main edition could easily have been 14 tracks long, excluding bounus tracks :( Edited June 3, 201114 yr by Crowan
June 3, 201114 yr I am hoping this era will go well for Kelly. She can release it around X Factor time with a smash single that gets a X Factor performance.
June 4, 201114 yr Do you think she will include When Love Takes Over and What a Feeling on the international tracklist?? Would love to have them on the album :)
