It was 8:58 - my thought of Bradley had been shattered, but I still thought it could've been Peggy, Jack, Roxy or Ronnie. I couldn't really care less what people say about it being unrealistic, but I was on the edge of my seat - just when I began to think I knew who it was going to be ... it was somebody else popping up. Honestly, thought that was absolutely fantastic, and I'm now left thinking it was Jack or Ronnie.

It was depressing for Christmas Day as ever, but I think it was a really well scripted episode - how it kept twisting just when you thought you knew who'd done it ... and you still don't know now!

OMG OMG OMG. Poor in places, but I want to know who did it! I really think it's between Bradley, Peggy and Ronnie. I hoped it'd be one of those whodunnits where you do actually find out in the same episode, but apparently not! :(

Really wanted to find out in the actual episode :( Quite a good episode, was definatly on the edge of my seat even if you did have to laugh of out of everyone in that square, the Jacksons were the only ones to have a remotely good christmas.

Ronnie would my guess. Really dont want it to be Bradley.

You spoke too soon Norma! :heehee:

What an epic episode. Just brilliant. I loved that Archie told the story of how he'd get a beating from his dad when the snow had settled and then in his final moments they played on that. Some terrific acting from Charlie Brooks especially tonight. My only complaint is that they brought Sam back but even she wasn't as awful as usual, and Tanya's brief return was very welcome (yay for Abi going!).

I'd say the murderer is Peggy.

I know! Damned Red Herrings! Don't you just hate them!

Pretty crap story ... enthralling ... but totally ludicrous.

Could be Janine, she didn't get the knife to tickle herself.

My only complaint is that they brought Sam back

As much as I loved Peggy slapping her, it seemed to be such a pointless return. She temporarily slowed down the Bianca and Ricky engagement and then got rejected by various family members. I can only imagine they bought her back to bump Archie off.

She'd got no Ricky, no family, lost their pub, she'd probably ran out of places to run and she also said she's sort Archie out to Peggy. Also, her not being one of the batch of main suspects makes her a more likely candidate in Eastenders worlds. I thought she'd already left for good, so she must be due to exit soon?

The biggest downside to my theory is that I'm guessing this is the story that'll be resolved in the live episode and Sam would have surely left by then?

Surely they wouldnt risk sticking Daniella Westbrook in a live episode :P?
Yep, Sam will be long gone and when the killer is revealed they will obviously either go on the run or be charged with murder.

I'm thinking that it's either Peggy or maybe Stacey and Bradley takes the wrap..

I really don't understand why you watch the soaps if you're that bothered about details Rob. I don't know about Corrie (all I know is it's the worst thing on TV) but Emmerdale, excellent as it is, also suffers the same lack of reality as EE at times. The soaps just aren't about mirroring real life at every corner. The term 'soap opera' was devised as a term for the over-the-top American dramas of back in the day and soaps have never claimed to be entirely believable because it's part of their charm that they aren't!

because its light entertainment, you can pick it up or ignore it at will. bad detail infuriates me because its an insult to our intelligence, theres no NEED for bad detail... it doesnt enhance the storyline.

and the term 'soap' came from the american market in the 60's when these 'ongoing dramas' were sponsored by soap companies.

good?.. well as good as could be expected, was it really a stroke of genius creating half a dozen suspects? ... not really... many of my generation should have recognised the plot!!!

30 years ago the a VERY similar plotline was used in 'dallas'.... 'the shooting of jr', throughout the episode jr ewing made real bad enemies of people around him, all threatening to kill him. family, business associates, and his knock off .... jr treated those in exactly the same way. the episode finished with jr being shot... ok, jr didnt die (but actually the actor, larry hagman, who played him WOULD have been written out (died) IF his pay demands wasnt met.

i dont think the eventual culprit will be the same as dallas (it was his knock off, kirsten shepard (mary crosby) who dunnit,) if it is...itll be janine. my monies on bradly or peggy simply because they are leaving ee.

(reckon it wasnt bradley who did it, but he could be wrongly convicted cos of the 'evidence' of blood on his/archies bodies)

oh... and that snowstorm thing..... another familiar feature?.... try a clint eastwood film (think it was 'a fistfull of dollars' ) in which the 'baddie' struck when a musical charm stopped playing....

last nights episode might have been most entertaining... but it was FAR from original, drawing VERY strongly off 2 previous iconic drama/film ...

I actually enjoyed all daft 'cloak and dagger' stuff, with suspect after suspect appearing from the shadows (Ian Beale was particularly hilarious). Even those not involved in a 'covert' way were taking part in the carol concert with one eye on the Queen Vic. Was there any need for Bradley's cut hand to be shown several times ... surely an indicator that he's going to be locked up on remand until February.

Oh and prepare yourself for another 'Mitchell' (they're like frigging Osmonds ... there's a production line). At Archie's funeral ... Roxy and Ronnie find they have a brother that they didn't know about ... and this is in addition to Stacey's little 'surprise'. I offer no apologies for not putting in a spoiler there ... as this being Eastenders ... not a month goes by without us just knowing another 'secret' child will be uncovered.

Totally ridiculous, totally ham-acted in bits - but with flashes of brilliance elsewhere (I much prefer Lacey Turner's restrained performance to Samantha Janus's 'over the top' hysterics. ) On the whole though ... thoroughly entertaining.

Coronation Street was better though ... if only for the brilliant Sally Whittaker.

I loved last night's episode, I hope its not Bradley, going back to the Vic after he slapped him as 1 minute you see him outside and disappeared the next. I'm thinking its Janine she did push Barry over the edge, she is capable of anything. Other suspects could be Ronnie, Sam, Phil or Peggy, but Phil was using the back entrance, so someone must have came in from the front door. And Ian is not capable of doing something like that, he maybe nasty but surely he wouldn't sink that low more like the red herring of the plot.

I think it'd be great if they had an ending like 'Murder on the Orient Express' ... in that they ALL did it!

Great news guys

The killer won't be unveiled until 25th anniversary show celebrations in February.

i think it's ronnie cos she's the only one who archie told the snowglobe story to and conicidentaly he dies as the snow hits the bottom of the globe. unless he's told peggy that story too. i thought it was gonna be jack until last night but he doesn't even seem to be in the running of it..
I remember thinking back when Stacey was crazy and harping on about Archie attacking her that it wouldn't just be a construct of her imagination. Archie is all about power. I doubt he fancied Stacey particularly but the power of knowing he could rape her and nobody would ever believe it if she told them must have been his reasoning for it.
