It was really and truly a vintage Robbie performance tonight - simply outstanding. It was a shame he didnt do a speech or anyone to present but obviously he wanted to let the performance/music speak for itself.

I enjoyed everything - although felt Everything Changes shoud;'ve been replaced by Kids with Kylie popping on seeing as she was there - it is a nice catchy pop tune but simply did not stand up next to all of his classics in my view.

The whole performance was just remarkable - I just rewatched the whole thing - and am still on a high :cheer:

Robbie's the angel of the Brits

Press Assosiation

(UKPA) – 17 minutes ago

Robbie Williams proved he was the angel of the Brits 2010 as he picked up the Outstanding Contribution To Music award, while his old foe Liam Gallagher was back to his bad boy ways.

Robbie brought the music awards to a climax with a medley of his hits - and brought the house down with his anthem Angels.

Oasis star Liam meanwhile went on stage to accept a special gong for the best album of the last 30 years, and snubbed his brother Noel, before throwing a microphone and his award into the audience.

Wearing a suit and tie, Robbie kicked off his medley with his recent single Bodies before launching into Let Me Entertain You.

The beaming singer said: "It feels really good up here, Brits. Thank you so much."

The crowd screamed at the opening bars of Angels and Robbie handed over to the audience to sing part of it. For his encore, he launched into Take That's hit Everything Changes, before rapping to his funky solo hit Rock DJ.

Liam Gallagher took to the stage to accept Oasis's award for (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. He thanked a series of people - but pointedly did not include brother Noel in the list.

Liam told the crowd: "Listen kids... the best bands in the f****** world live forever."

He then hurled a microphone into the audience, prompting an appeal for its return. As he left the stage, host Peter Kay remarked: "What a k***head."

Liam and Robbie have a history at the Brits, with Robbie challenging Liam to a fight at the 2000 ceremony, after the Gallagher brothers had made a number of jibes about him.

Waddya mean? Its as good a compliment you're going to get from me regarding Robbie. He's a decent singer and a fabulous entertainer. But he isn't a fabulous singer. And Paul McCartney's set two years ago was way, way better (but I was there in the audience so perhaps it makes a difference). He did LOOK a hottie tonight though and his restraint was much appreciated!

The lad did well ... and I'm so glad Take That were not there!

By the way folks ... I do love your forum ... as much as I'm not a fan of 'your man' I think you lot are ace!

Alien Robbie fan Tom Meighan

Monday, February 22, 2010 7:15 AM

Tom Meighan admires Robbie William's belief in aliens.

The Kasabian frontman thinks the 'Angels' hitmaker deserved to win the Outstanding Contribution to Music accolade at last week's BRIT Awards because of his interest in life on other planets, as well as the way he dealt with his much-publicised drink and drug addictions.

Tom - whose group scooped the Best British Band award at the London ceremony - said: "Robbie deserves it. He deserves everything he gets. He's been in the game a while and he's lost his brain and come back again all of a sudden, so it's good. I admire him because he believes in UFOs - I think that's incredible."

Tom also admitted to having his own interest in aliens, but insists he would never go out looking for other-worldly beings himself.

He added to BANG Showbiz: "The only thing I definitely believe in is E.T., because I've got one that lives in my house, a movie replica. There might be something out there, but I'm not going to go around Roswell and hang around there for a while, smoking dope and looking at the stars 'Close Encounters' style."

:D

Yeah I saw him interviewed on MTV news - he seems like a nice guy - It was amusing when he slipped on stage when running to get the award for Best Band

Kasabien are a great band though, especially live - I've seen them twice and they are at the top of their game.
