October 26, 200915 yr I think The Sats have established themselves very well from their debut alone, maybe they're not as established, but they're establishing and with four top 10 singles from a top 10 album does say something about how big of a fanbase they're getting, even the front-loaded Wordshaker sales prove this as well. I see the points you and Steve are making though, IMO I just don't see them being dropped so early, they're not exactly Leon Jackson-esque flop yet. They've done f***ing brilliantly in their debut and I doubt Ego will flop even if it is released in the Xmas/Xfactor rush. But I've said before and Steve also pointed it out, January would be FAR better. I think The Sats are still too new and their debut's been too good for them to be dropped if they don't comeback with strong album sales after Ego (which I highly highly doubt  ). Each era was started off with the wrong lead single, which is a fault the label made, not the girls, so the girls shouldn't take the fall for their label's mess-ups, because they've certainly done their part exceptionally, where the record label hasn't came close. I think they'd be wise enough to recognize that they were at fault and the girls can comeback well if they handle things smoothly instead of dropping them if they consider it if Wordshaker flops. Believe me they are not established yet. a debut album selling under 300k isn't good enough to prevent them being dropped after a flop second album (if that happens). And Wordshakers opening sales were terrible and show that they don't have that bog of a fanbase as of yet. And it isn't the fanbase that matters it's the casual music buyers who matter IMO. Also the singles for Chasing Lights was almost perfect. If This Is Love got them noticed and was able to get Up to be the hit that it deserved, although I don't rate Issues it did really well and helped the album sell a big portion of what it eventually sold. JCGE did well and it was for charity. The only major problem with the releases was Work being released too late.
October 26, 200915 yr Work should've been the lead single! It was amazing! A 5th single was never going to work well in the first place, girl groups hardly ever release that much singles cause they already know what the result would be
October 26, 200915 yr I would actually agree there that releasing Work in the place of If This Is Love would have been better, Word pretty much sold the same as If This Is Love and it was relesead over 6 months after the album. Assuming of course that Work had been recorded at that time? Im not if it had...
October 27, 200915 yr I guess its all down to whether or not ego does well, if it does then it was probably just bad timing with the album, if it flops then maybe the sats are done, i think if ego does well, they should do one more song after that, then just hop on the bandwagon and re-release the album like everyone else is doing. I really think they should have done two singles before the album, heck, Girls Aloud released three before their second album, i know management wanted the album out in time for christmas sales but still i think it would have been safer to just wait till the new year, this whole project feels rushed. How long after Work did we here Forever Is Over? I feel like it was only 2 months, it was barely enough time for anyone to even miss them.

Completely agree with all the above, like I said its been extremely rushed, they should have waited till the 2nd or 3rd single before releasing the album and the 2nd single needs to come out in January and not December. The worst part of it all, is all the fault lies with the label and not the girls and if they were to get dropped from that I'd take a serious stand against it if I were them.
October 27, 200915 yr Well consider this. Ego is meant to be a hit, as it's a great song and no one has bought the album, so they're going to buy it ^_^
October 27, 200915 yr I agree as far as the album should have been relesead after 2 singles like Chasing Lights and the majority of girlband albums. I mean Girls Aloud for example, it took them 5 albums until they decided to release on the back of one single from that album.
October 29, 200915 yr Author its all speculation anyway, we dont have the accounts for this project, if they are making money or are likely too they will continue.... if they dont, theyll be dropped, imho their future is in the balance and they are not established enough to take the hit of a bad selling album.
October 29, 200915 yr The problem with Ego is the release date - 14th December is silly. You've got the X Factor winner released with all the other Xmas #1 attempts - Robbie, WestLife, George Michael and probably others Plus the X Factor charity single, Leona, Cheryl(maybe) Susan Boyle, JLS(maybe) and other X factor related/reality stars will probably still be doing pretty well.
October 29, 200915 yr Im really not sure what would be best. Throwing Ego out there asap to save the album as soon as possible or try and save it later on in January where the chances of it getting lost in the croud are smaller. I dont suppose theres much chance of them performing on X-Factor either.
October 29, 200915 yr January is by far the better option, look how it worked out for Issues. Ego will struggle to even go top 10 in the middle of Xmas and Xfactor fever, the max it'll probably get is #8 and it'll need to be the best-selling non-Xmas/Xfactor single of that week to even get to #8, it's very worrying TBH and a huge mistake. There's a 75% chance it'll miss the top 10 and be overlooked at its release date, where with a January release it'll be the complete opposite. The label is really f***ing things up for them.
October 29, 200915 yr Author bad management, they may fail due to that and never reach their true potential. january certainly is the better option... in the past (when i was young...lol) i always looked foreward to january as it seemed like there was always a new batch of good music released after the crimbo circus.
October 29, 200915 yr Plus sales are high January time now due to people having gift cards. ect. If they it priced at 59p on itunes that'll help also.
November 2, 200915 yr i hope they aint dropped...but i agree with most of you, the lead single was awful..i just couldnt get into it and im not really a fan, (but kinda root for them) they really rushed into the 2nd album, didnt they?
November 2, 200915 yr they need to release a killer 2nd single to help the album recover. The problem is forever is over wasnt a great 1st single. They should have perhaps gone with a double A sided single including a non-album track
November 4, 200915 yr forget January, the album needs to be saved NOW, not in 2 months. If they had planned things carefully, Ego would be out late this month, or December 1st at the latest. FIO is doing nothing, and the album sank without trace.
November 4, 200915 yr They won't get dropped, after the first album they've obviously got great potential so if they get dropped they'll easily find another label who will give them another shot.
November 5, 200915 yr Agreed. Its fairly obvious here that they have the potential here so it would be stupid to drop them. Its the management that have f***ed this up for them. Oh god. Were turning all Sugababes fans now. Blaming the management for everything lol.
November 6, 200915 yr Author They won't get dropped, after the first album they've obviously got great potential so if they get dropped they'll easily find another label who will give them another shot. thats wishful thinking simon, the first album did ok, nothing special, and their future fate depends solely on how this album does. true, management have fcuked them up, but its management who will decide whether or not they are a viable enterprise. i doubt if any other company will pick them up or even if they legally can.
