October 27, 200915 yr Author I have watched the first half and am not really sure. The stages brilliance doesnt translate well the the parts I saw. Everything is so dark due to no back of the stage. If there were no shots from far away, you would think there was no stage  It seems very dark, and not shot very well. Whoever directed it did not capture the brilliance of the stage (well from the bits ive seen so far). Bono's voice is not bad, but it is not great either. A bit silly leaving it to the very end of the long leg to record the gig. His voice is obviously a bit strained from the constant touring since June.
October 27, 200915 yr I totally agree. Except, I think Bono's voice was great in August, also. :P I don't understand, how all looks that dark in video? :(
October 27, 200915 yr Author I have downloaded the whole gig from youtube and just finished burning it onto a DVD. Am going to relax and watch it on my TV
October 27, 200915 yr I have downloaded the whole concert too from youtube, it took about 3 hours to burn to disc  The picture comes out a bit blurry on my tv :(
October 27, 200915 yr Author Where did you download it from? I used 'youtube downloader' as Vixy is not working for me anymore. I set it to HQ so it came out out. Not DVD Quality but still good.
October 27, 200915 yr I did the same, using DVDVideo Soft program for downloading. I'll burn it on DVD when I come back home. Can't wait to watch it on tv. :cheer:
October 28, 200915 yr I used youtube downloader too, perhaps I'll give it another go and change the settings for better quality, maybe I'm spoilt by dvd quality and expecting too much.
October 28, 200915 yr maybe I'm spoilt by dvd quality and expecting too much. Could be that. I know I had few cases like that.
October 31, 200915 yr U2's Rose Bowl show breaks U.S. attendance record NASHVILLE (Billboard) – It took 22 years, but U2 has broken its own attendance record for the best-attended single concert performance at a U.S. venue by one headliner. The band's 360 Tour played the Pasadena, California, Rose Bowl on October 25 to a sellout crowd of 97,014 -- the highest attendance on record for one U.S. show by a single headliner based on box office totals reported to Billboard. The old record was set on September 25, 1987, at the now-demolished John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia with a crowd of 86,145 in attendance for the band's Joshua Tree Tour. This year's Rose Bowl performance grossed more than $9.9 million, considerably more than the 1987 Philly show, which brought in a mere $1.5 million in ticket sales. Among the top five single-concert attendances on record in the U.S., the top three are all U2 performances. The third-highest attendance is also from the band's current tour, at its September 29 sellout at FedExField in Landover, Maryland, with 84,754. Pink Floyd's May 29, 1994, show at the Ohio State University football stadium is in fourth place with 75,250. The Backstreet Boys round out the top five with a sold-out show at the Georgia Dome on February 19, 2000, when 73,337 fans filled the Atlanta stadium to see the pop group's Into the Millennium Tour. U2's Rose Bowl show excelled in gross ticket sales as well as attendance. With $9.96 million grossed, it is the second-highest-grossing single U.S. concert by a solo headliner. The concert is second only to the Three Tenors' July 20, 1996, sold-out show at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Rolling Stones make up the rest of this top-five list with a Giants Stadium concert of its own on September 15, 2005, a sold-out benefit concert at Radio City Music Hall on March 14, 2006, and an outdoor show at Chicago's Soldier Field on September 10, 2005. November 7, 200915 yr http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol...icle6907166.ece Beautiful day for YouTube as 10 million tune in to U2 gig For U2 it was just another outlet for video footage but it may well prove to be the moment when the internet showed that it could generate audiences to rival broadcast television. On ten million occasions viewers clicked on to YouTube to watch U2 perform live at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, Calfornia at the end of last month, a record for simultaneous viewing on the video website. Malcom Gerrie, the chief executive of WhizzKid Entertainment, the company that filmed the event, said that both the band and YouTube were shocked and surprised by how many people watched online. “This achieved the kind of audience you might see for a television hit show, but it was far greater than you would see for a music show on television in any single country,” he said. “In Britain, they are cracking open the champagne if Later with Jools Holland gets seen by 600,000 people.” YouTube, owned by Google, traditionally shows short video clips, and the U2 concert was one of only a handful of live broadcasts the website has undertaken. It was persuaded into doing so when Bono, the band’s frontman, took advantage of his friendship with Sergey Brin, one of Google’s two billionaire founders, to force a change of policy. Previous attempts to broadcast major concerts live on the internet, such as AOL’s transmission of Live 8 in 2005, have proved to be disappointing for viewers because the prevailing internet technology had not been able to handle video well. As household connection speeds increase, transmitting live television online is becoming more practical. The high viewing figures came as such a surprise that neither the band nor YouTube capitalised financially. Paul McGuinness, U2’s manager, said: “YouTube were a little unsure of themselves. They were supposed to sell a sponsorship for the event, but somehow they didn’t manage to.” YouTube also refused to pay U2, although the Irish quartet accepted the lack of fees because they saw the exercise as a promotional experiment. The Rose Bowl gig was being filmed anyway, so the band could release a DVD of the event early next year as part of their contractual obligation to their music company, Universal. Mr McGuiness said that in future U2 would consider charging viewers to watch live online when the band comes round to touring again in about four years. “We might do pay per view next time, and we don’t think that will cannibalise any sales of DVDs because the audiences are separate,” he said. In Britain, few programmes top 10 million viewers. Coronation Street and other soap operas; Champions League and other football finals; and Saturday night entertainment shows are the only programmes able to breach that figure. Last week the X Factor elimination show on Sunday night was watched by 15.8 million, making it one of the most-watched programmes of the year. U2 were able to exceed the 10 million level because the concert was made available to 187 countries, including China, North Korea and Iran, although a third of the 10 million audience for the Rose Bowl show came from the United States. After the gig, YouTube is understood to be considering a change in strategy that would turn it into a regular rival to the BBC and ITV and any traditional TV station. A spokesman for YouTube would only describe the event as a “big win”, but Mr Gerrie said: “We think a whole new business model has emerged here.”
