Amy has said that they are finishing the recording process this month, and they want it in the shops for August.

Brilliant first album and I love my immortal and Bring Me To Life, great band, can't wait for their new stuff

I really liked the first album, didnt know they had a new one coming out !

I LOVE Evanesence, their first album was amazing, they were meant to be releasing a new single this month but no :rolleyes:

 

The album was released in 2002, come on how long do we have to wait :( :cry:

I hope after all this time it's a good album. I have a feeling it's gonna be a bit too "heavy" for my liking though! :o

I got their first album, but it was a bit of a dissapointment to me to be honest as nothing really compared on that album to 2Bring Me Back To Life", and I found some tracks boring and I don't think I'll buy their 2nd album.

Yoshi, I am very disappointed that a fan of Arch Enemy and Within Temptation can possibly find anything of value in this bunch of Yank fakers.....

The first album had its strong moments but unfortunately everyone seems to be stuck on 'My Immortal', which I thought was dire.

They're more versatile than most think. A lot of their older stuff (which I have, if anyone wants, ask me on MSN) is fantastic and shows the bands diversity. A lot of people judged them solely on 'Fallen', which by all accounts was very vanilla (if awesome) and didn't showcase what Amy, Ben and David could really do.

I think you can blame 'My Immortal' for most people's preconceptions - it seemed to be inescapable and was, as far as I could tell, the worst track on the album by a hell of a long way.

 

That said, all this talk of them has made me want to dig the album out. Bet I can't find it.

'My Immortal' was overrated, I'll give you that. 'Haunted' or 'Tourniquet' should've been released. :angry:

The last track should've been released... that was awesome. Except I can't remember what it was called. :ph34r:

That was 'Whisper'. I've always thought it was really odd track to end the album on. :blink:

Heh, I thought it was a perfect ending, with the choral bit fading out... ya.

I agree. Everybody's Fool was awful. Glad that one was their 'flop' single. Didn't make the top 20 while all the rest made top ten.

 

I think Evanescence are alright. I loved them at the time, and I'll give them a chance to see what they come up with. They're nowhere near as good as the likes of Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation, and Evanescence's sound is VERY American. But I quite like them.
