What's the point in the judges having a say when they pretty much always leave it down to the public? How pathetic. :/ I've nearly lost all interest in the show now, such a bland series if you ask me.

Why is there anything wrong with that?

As I've already mentioned in this thread, it's the public who will be buying the music! If it was down to the judges it would be Danyl who would end up winning.

I hope John & Edward win, or at least make the final.

Definitely do not like Stacey. Good voice, but I honestly could no way cope with her not leaving the limelight for years and years. Her whole persona is just too annoying.

Yeah I get your point, but why have it like that then, surely it should always be down to the public anyway if its going to be like that?

I know what I mean but I cant word it properly lol. -_-

Regardless of what you think about John & Edward, their song choice for this Saturday is pure genius from an entertainment standpoint. And as opposed to the sappy, drippy ballads we're sure to get, the upbeat, energetic performance of John & Edward is sure to get the audience involved!

Are the song choices ever "officially confirmed" before Saturday? Is any information about the choices before Saturday considered a spoiler?

That would be a good point......except look what happened to Leon Jackson, the public voted him to win and then he wasn't very successful. Sure he had his 15 minutes but nothing in comparison to Leona Lewis.

So perhaps the public won't end up buying the music after all. :o

I think what Jack's saying is if Simon wants the public to choose then why have the whole charade of the last sing off.. and i have to agree.

Yeah they might as well just have the person with the least votes automatically kicked off.

If Simon Cowell and everybody else is serious about this being a contest about 'singing' ... then perhaps someone ought to alert his research and production team to that fact. If however, Cowell instructs them to 'bring in a few oddballs for a laugh' then its only payback that the audience returns the joke and votes them in in the later stages. If he (or his producers - who all follow his instructions to the letter) wants assorted oddballs for their laugh factor ... then he should be prepared when it backfires on him.

Oh I would so love Jedward to win win! I may even throw in a phone vote myself this weekend. Has anyone noticed too how J&E are almost always towards the end of the show now? Maybe its because Cowell realises that if they were on at the beginning ... a lot of people would switch over when they'd done their bit. I know I would.

Lastly on this ... I'm a bit tired of Cowell appearing all 'surprised' each time the twins are kept in ... and his fake showing of 'horror' when Louis picked them - when I truly believe Simon Cowell was behind them being in the show from day one ... with long-term plans ahead.

Danyl tops The X Factor vote - report

Press Association News

Tuesday, 3 November 2009

Danyl Johnson topped last weekend's 'X Factor' vote, according to a tabloid report.

The Sun reports that the teacher, who was in the bottom two the previous week, secured 35 per cent of the vote this week.

The report also claims that twins John and Edward were placed second as a result of the public vote, while Olly Murs came third and Lucie Jones came fourth.

Jamie Archer and Stacey Solomon were in fifth and sixth place respectively, according to the article.

Joe McElderry was reportedly in the bottom three but managed to narrowly escape the sing-off.

Lloyd Daniels and Rachel Adedeji were placed in the bottom two last weekend, with presenter Dermot O'Leary later revealing that Rachel had the lowest number of public votes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If true ..... Well I'll be hoping he matches Rachel's achievement from the last three week of going from bottom two to first to last in the public vote? As for Joe & Stacey near the bottom two :(

MAJOR 'OH DEAR :/ :/ :/'. I genuinely hope Jedward win this series. Simon will leave the country  Danyl first. f***. I imagine how stupid the public in the UK (no offence BJ as i know less than 0.000000054% of BJ population vote for him :heehee: ).

Poor Joe. :( The only good thing about this is Olly was third. Definately the best performance of X-factor series 6!

Stacey needs to do something because she's getting boring, so as Joe A LITTLE. Only a bit. There's always have to be space for improvement.

The 'apparent' voting at the moment definitely suggests that this series is pretty open, with only Jedward being constantly near the top. I can honestly see them in the final, but I don't think they'll win.... :(

Is there anyway they could be 'jedrolled'

I don't know about that; but can an annoying but hilariously even more entertaining (than R Kid & Geraldine McQueen) Oirish twins win X-Factor?

If John and Edward won, then I don't know how X Factor would honestly continue. It would make a mockery of the show. They're honestly so $h!t, but it's good that they're so bad, and they're definitely entertaining. The amount of people that go on about how they hate them just makes me like them more LOL. It's childish I know, but hey ho. I still can't see them winning, as I expect once Lloyd goes, his fans will go to Joe, and the same for the two girls that are left, and probably the same for Jamie and Danyl.

Just like how Rachel had supposedly topped the poll and was apparently gunning for everyone else.

Surely that would be a good thing! For the X-Factor to end I mean.

It would make a mockery of the show.
Surely though, the show has become a mockery of itself.

I still can't see them winning, as I expect once Lloyd goes, his fans will go to Joe, and the same for the two girls that are left, and probably the same for Jamie and Danyl.

I think you may be underestimating the fact that the public have actually cottoned on to Cowell's sneaky game and are now biting him on the arse with it.

I refuse to believe Joe came 7th - because I don't want to.

Danyl topping the votes - 35%? - everyone I know really doesn't like him at all. I think this report is wrong, like you say, last weeks report was Rachel was on top, which evidently could not have happened. Oh, I'm really scared for Joe now, he did go first I guess, but I had such high hopes for him to get at least Top 5. Really sad day for existance, lol.

I think what Jack's saying is if Simon wants the public to choose then why have the whole charade of the last sing off.. and i have to agree.

The show is still primarily based around the public. The judges' casting vote only exists in case one of the show's heavyweights (Danyl and Stacey in this series) come in the bottom 2.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if that voting report is correct. Joe coming 7th sounds about right... his voice is nothing special, and apart from him seeing a genuinely nice guy, I can't see what his USP is.

I think this report is so fakey because let's face it public is usually somewhat constant in voting, it's nearly impossible to first go bottom 2 and then top the vote with the same performance (Danyl's songs are - always shouts in the end, stands still on the scene like a f***ing diva already selling millions of records just standing there).
