November 15, 200915 yr 100 Howling Bells 'Setting Sun' Quite liked this if I recall, don't think I've ever paid it too much attention though. :( 99 Snow Patrol ft Martha Wainwright 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar' Love this, my favourite of theirs now I think. Martha's vocals are amazing on it and lift it way above a bog standard SP track. 98 Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' Back to loving this again after a couple of years of overkill. Such a 00s anthem, still sounds as good now too. 97 Goldfrapp 'A & E' Easily my favourite Frapp track since their debut. Still utterly beautiful and a travesty that it didn't do better than #10. 96 Death Cab For Cutie 'I Will Possess Your Heart' I do like this but not top 100 of the decade levels. I agree that the structure of the track makes it stand out, certainly one of my favourites of theirs. 95 Feeder 'Just A Day' Not keen really, haven't particularly liked anything they've done. 94 Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Zero' Amazing. One of the songs of 09 for me, the way it builds, builds, builds and then builds even more is the key, 7 weeker for me. 93 Kings of Leon 'The Bucket' Don't really know this... 92 Missy Elliott 'Gossip Folks' Love it! Yet another one of the less obvious ones to make my list - of which there's a couple more still to come. 91 Idlewild 'American English' This is decent enough but I find the band a bit samey after a while. My favourites of theirs are from their 90s albums. 90 The Go! Team 'Bottle Rocket' About as much fun as one track can ever be. Album high point for me and I love the album from start to end so it's no mean feat! On a sidenote, how much better is the original album to the re-issue?!! What on earth did they do to the mastering second time around, it loses all of the feeling of fun and spontaneity that the original one had. 89 Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Maps' Brilliant song, one which I only discovered far later than I should have done. 88 Last Shadow Puppets 'The Age of the Understatement' Meh. It's ok I suppose, nothing like as good as the ones around it though. 87 Goldfrapp 'Utopia' Beautiful track from their best album, I still often play Felt Mountain as it's just much more imaginative than their other material. It's a shame everyone probably thinks they began their career with Black Cherry. 86 Manic Street Preachers 'The Masses Against The Classes' Oh dear. Not a fan I'm afraid. :( 85 White Stripes 'Blue Orchid' I like this, although I'd forgotten all about them really. Definitely one of their better singles, I'm like you in as much as I struggle to love an entire album though. 84 Elbow 'Fugitive Motel' Another decent track, not likely to make my chart as I prefer a few of their others but it's still a solid inclusion. 83 DB Boulevard 'Point of View' I'd forgotten all about this. It's alright I guess, not something I remember as fondly as you obviously do though. 82 Jose Gonzalez 'Heartbeats' 81 The Knife 'Heartbeats' I'm not sure which I prefer either... the song is wonderful, both versions are amazing yet completely different. I think I'd have to opt for the original deserves more credit approach also. 80 Daft Punk 'Aerodynamic' Album highlight for me and has been since I first heard it, good to see it finish as top instrumental - will be in the running for the same honour in my chart too. 79 Lostprophets 'The Fake Sound of Progress' Another act I'm not sold on, this is better than the norm from them but still not my cuppa. 78 Bright Eyes 'If The Brakeman Turns My Way' Lovely track, a former #1 for me. 77 The Shins 'Australia' I like both them and this now. I seem to recall you mentioning them rather a lot a couple of years back and me being generally indifferent... now I quite like the album and the one before it too. 76 LCD Soundsystem 'All My Friends' My favourite of his, although a couple of others from Sound Of Silver run it close. 75 Groove Armada 'Song 4 Mutya' Another one of those should have been bigger moments. One of the catchiest things all decade yet only makes the lower half of the top 10. 74 Isands 'Rough Gem' Now this I truly love, never ever got tired of it even though it seemed to have the potential to annoy. As you mentioned it in the thread, I'm fairly certain you'll have discovered it from the brief alternative g-mail thing on Moopy, that's certainly where I picked up on them from anyway. 73 Little Boots 'Earthquake' Ms Boots and her floptastic song. Sigh, she clearly is doomed. :( 72 Camera Obscura 'Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken' We're in rather a long run of bold tracks now... this is great and the album is too, this year's follow up is one of the most disappointing things I've heard all year though. 71 Gang Gang Dance 'House Jam' A-MAY-ZING. One of my favourite random discoveries ever, it's like Timbaland does indie through some weird filter. 70 Flaming Lips 'Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt.1' Remains their finest single for me - it's my favourite album of theirs also. I was so pleased when this made the top 20. 69 Mint Royale ft Lauren Laverne 'Don't Falter' One of the first #1s of the decade for me and I still love it! Why on EARTH did they release it in January though, it would have been huge in the Summer. 68 The Horrors 'Sea Within A Sea' Brilliant, you can tell that Geoff Barrow produced this as it's like a darker and more stretched out version of The Rip. Such a big progression from the standard of their debut too, probably most improved band of 09 for me. 67 The Music 'Getaway' This completely passed me by... I may download... not quite 10 bolds in a row! :( 66 The Postal Service 'The Disctrict Sleeps Alone Tonight' Amazing album but you know that already. This probably won't make my chart but only because there's two that I prefer... 65 Royksopp ft Robyn 'The Girl & The Robot' *cry* Biggest flop ever. I don't think there's ever been a song that both me and the fella love so much. If it unifies our tastes then everyone should have loved it too. I made a second version of this with extra strings at the end from one of the mixes, it's now my version of choice. 64 Mystery Jets 'Young Love' Laura really adds to this, I like the way the song is structured in two halves rather than just having them sing to each other in the verses. 63 Noisettes 'Never Forget You' Another great track, one that took me a while to appreciate properly. I wish I'd allowed this to do better now. 62 Super Furry Animals 'Juxtaposed With You' Ah the Furries. One of my favourites of theirs too, the first one that persuaded me to buy an album too. Rings Around The World is a good album too. 61 Jet 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl?' Good track but definitely not an end of decade contender for me. 60 Vampire Weekend 'A-Punk' I've overplayed much of the album but this remains a stand out. 59 Idlewild 'These Wooden Ideas' I didn't realise this was from the 00s, this is one of the tracks I was talking about when I said I preferred their 90s material! :D 58 Snow Patrol 'Run' A great song, not even Leona could ruin it. A shame it mostly went downhill from here on in. 57 Bodyrox ft Luciana 'Yeah Yeah' Definitely a contender for best dance track of the 00s. The instrumental is good enough but Luciana's vocals just lift it to another place completely, I remember being really surprised at just how successful this was. 56 Los Campesinos! 'You! Me! Dancing!' I do like these but I'm beginning to find them a bit too samey, I'm hoping they'll really change their sound on the next album. 55 Damien Rice '9 Crimes' Just beautiful, I will never tire of hearing it. I think he'll struggle from here on in, Lisa Hannigan was such an important part to his appeal and the songs on his second album where she didn't feature were just nowhere near as strong. 54 Rilo Kiley 'Portions for Foxes' I didn't know this at the time of release but it would have easily been a #1 for me if I had. Jenny Lewis is such a talent. 53 Katy Perry 'Hot N Cold' I actually really like this now too. I had to cave eventually and once I did there was no turning back. 52 M.I.A. 'Paper Planes' Obvious anthem of the past couple of years. 51 The Libertines 'Time For Heroes' It's ok... the only one of theirs I really love is Don't Look Back Into The Sun. So far, an outstanding chart really. I can't imagine I'll see another with so many that I love.

November 17, 200915 yr Amazing chart overall and superb top 3. Here's what I like: 200 The Prodigy 'Omen' - Amazing comeback from The Prodigy. One of their finest moments as well. 198 Train 'Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)' - Can't believe I had forgotten about this song, it was quite memorable back then. Lovely addition to the chart. 196 Arcade Fire 'Keep The Car Running' - I'm not sure if I'll ever dislike an Arcade Fire song. They've been amazing this decade. 193 Timbaland ft Keri Hilson 'The Way I Are' - His best effort so far. This should've been the lead single off his "Shock Value" album instead of the blehfest that was "Give It To Me" (I still like the song, though). 191 Girls Aloud 'No Good Advice' - Easily one of the best GA songs ever. It used to be my favourite from them until "Biology" was released in late 2005. 190 Magic Numbers 'Forever Lost' - Hmmmm... sometimes I like this, sometimes I hate. I guess it does deserve an inclusion since it represents the summer of 2005 and brings back many memories (at least for me :D) 183 Thom Yorke 'Harrowdown Hill' - What an amazing song from an amazing album too! I remember the first time I heard "The Clock" on Radio 1 when his album "The Eraser" debuted on the UK album charts, I instantly went to buy a copy and "Harrowdown Hill" was the definitive highlight. 182 Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Can't Stop' - Catchy, but not necesarily amazing. They've released much much better, imo. 177 Christina Aguilera 'Dirrty' - She's had some amazing moments this decade. I personally would've chosen "The Voice Within" over this, but "Dirrty" was still pop perfection. 173 Britney Spears 'Piece of Me' - As a Britney fan I can't be objective about her, but this really IS her best record ever. 170 Kasabian 'Club Foot' - Classic indie track. The one that got me into Kasabian (and also their debut if I'm not mistaken?). Anyways, 2004 deja vu! 169 MGMT 'Time to Pretend' - Catchy catchy catchy! I remember listening to this non-stop last year! 167 The Raconteurs 'Steady, As She Goes' - not as great as I would've expected. Pretty decent, though. 166 Reverend & The Makers 'Heavyweight Champion of the World' - Where have they gone? Their two singles, this and "He Said He Loved Me" were such a breathe of fresh air! 165 Editors 'Munich' - One of my favourite indie bands from this decade. Their new record is pretty amazing, just like this one, "All Sparks" and "Hospital Doors". 164 Amy Winehouse 'You Know I'm Not Good' - One of her best records! 161 Razorlight 'Golden Touch' - This band always put me in such a concert/gig mood. This=amazing. 158 Rihanna 'Don't Stop The Music' - This wore off after 12 months. Still appreciate it as I was obsessed with the track in 2007. 157 Bloc Party 'I Still Remember' 155 Dizzee Rascal 'Bonkers' 153 Mystery Jets' Two Doors Down' - A no.1 for me and their best song ever! 149 Kings of Leon 'Use Somebody' 148 Glasvegas 'Daddy's Gone' - This three songs ("Two Doors Down", "Use Somebody" and "Daddy's Gone") are very special to me. They used to come one after another on my i-Pod last year and it reminds me of the time I started at my current job. 143 Amerie 'One Thing' 142 Blink 182 'I Miss You' 140 Maximo Park 'The Coast Is Always Changing' 139 Feist '1234' 138 The Enemy 'We'll Live & Die In These Towns' 136 Wolfman ft Pete Doherty 'For Lovers' - :o Another song I had completely forgotten about! This used to put me in such an emo-mood  135 White Stripes 'Seven Nation Army' 132 Stereophonics 'Dakota' 129 Franz Ferdinand 'Darts of Pleasure' 127 The Futureheads 'Area' - One of 3 amazing hits from their 2005 album. Their cover of Kate Bush's "Hounds Of Love" was overwhelming. 126 Oasis 'Songbird' 124 Arctic Monkeys 'Fluorescent Adolescent' 122 Coldplay 'The Scientist' 120 Dandy Warhols 'Bohemian Like You' 119 The Futureheads 'The Beginning of the Twist' 115 White Lies 'Death' - So underrated! I was expecting wonderful things for them but they sort of flopped. Their music is out of this world. 114 Red Hot Chili Peppers 'By The Way' 112 Roger Sanchez 'Another Chance' - One of the best dance tracks this decade. I was only 14 back then :( I feel so old. 111 Eminem 'Stan' 107 MGMT 'Kids' 106 The Bravery 'An Honest Mistake' - This was on my Top 10 of 2005! 103 Doves 'Black and White Town' 101 Gorillaz 'Feel Good Inc' 99 Snow Patrol ft Martha Wainwright 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar' 98 Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' 97 Goldfrapp 'A & E' 88 Last Shadow Puppets 'The Age of the Understatement' 85 White Stripes 'Blue Orchid' 83 DB Boulevard 'Point of View' 82 Jose Gonzalez 'Heartbeats' 81 The Knife 'Heartbeats' - Both versions amazing. I like the José González one more. 80 Daft Punk 'Aerodynamic' 75 Groove Armada 'Song 4 Mutya' 67 The Music 'Getaway' - Great band, where are they now? 61 Jet 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl?' 58 Snow Patrol 'Run' 57 Bodyrox ft Luciana 'Yeah Yeah' 55 Damien Rice '9 Crimes' 53 Katy Perry 'Hot N Cold' 52 M.I.A. 'Paper Planes' 49 Kings of Leon 'Fans' 48 Girls Aloud 'The Loving Kind' 42 The Futureheads' Hounds of Love' 39 Coldplay 'Shiver' 37 Maximo Park 'Apply Some Pressure' - Amazing hit from such a great album! 35 Blink-182 'Adam's Song' 34 The Pipettes 'Pull Shapes' - Very different and it worked so well for me! 27 Royksopp 'What Else Is There?' 25 Daft Punk 'Digital Love' 20 Bat For Lashes 'Daniel' 18 Sigur Ros 'Hoppipolla' 16 Peter, Bjorn & John 'Young Folks' 14 The Temper Trap 'Sweet Disposition' 13 Franz Ferdinand 'Take Me Out' 10 Outkast 'Hey Ya!' 7 Doves 'There Goes The Fear' 6 Robyn 'With Every Heartbeat' 3 The Killers 'Mr Brightside' - :yahoo: Best song of the decade for me! 2 Arcade Fire 'Rebellion (Lies)' 1 Elbow 'One Day Like This' - Pretty amazing No.1! "Grounds For Divorce" was also superb! Anyways, looking at your chart makes me realise how amazing this decade has been for music! Some of the most memorable songs from the 00's are included here!

December 2, 200915 yr Author What a brilliant chart, fairly indie-centric but from the Top 50 I like: 47 TV On The Radio 'Wolf Like Me' 46 The National 'Mistaken For Strangers' 45 The Hold Steady 'Stuck Between Stations' 44 The Shins 'Turn On Me' 43 Bright Eyes 'Take It Easy (Love Nothing)' 42 The Futureheads' Hounds of Love' 40 Interpol 'Evil' 38 Guillemots 'Trains to Brazil' 37 Maximo Park 'Apply Some Pressure' 36 Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins 'You Are What You Love' 34 The Pipettes 'Pull Shapes' 33 Interpol 'NYC' 32 The Pains of Being Pure at Heart 'Young Adult Friction' 30 Ladytron 'Destroy Everything You Touch' 28 Stellastarr* 'Sweet Troubled Soul' 27 Royksopp 'What Else Is There?' 25 Daft Punk 'Digital Love' 24 PNAU ft Ladyhawke 'Embrace' 23 The Libertines 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun' 21 M83 'Kim & Jessie' 20 Bat For Lashes 'Daniel' 19 The Horrors 'Who Can Say' 18 Sigur Ros 'Hoppipolla' 17 Interpol 'The Heinrich Maneuver' 16 Peter, Bjorn & John 'Young Folks' 14 The Temper Trap 'Sweet Disposition' 13 Franz Ferdinand 'Take Me Out' 12 Camille 'Money Note' 11 Animal Collective 'My Girls' 10 Outkast 'Hey Ya!' 9 Animal Collective 'Summertime Clothes' 8 The Postal Service 'Such Great Heights' 7 Doves 'There Goes The Fear' 6 Robyn 'With Every Heartbeat' 5 Muse 'New Born' 4 Interpol 'Obstacle 1' 2 Arcade Fire 'Rebellion (Lies)' 1 Elbow 'One Day Like This' Three of your Top 10 tracks are in my Top 20 of the decade countdown. Thanks, good to see you liking such a large amount and all but three of the top 25! I imagine 'Rebellion' and 'With Every Heartbeat' will be in your top 20 but I'm not sure on the other...
December 2, 200915 yr Author Amazing chart overall and superb top 3. Here's what I like: 198 Train 'Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)' - Can't believe I had forgotten about this song, it was quite memorable back then. Lovely addition to the chart. It is a forgotten gem to be honest, I still hear it very occasionally, but not enough. 193 Timbaland ft Keri Hilson 'The Way I Are' - His best effort so far. This should've been the lead single off his "Shock Value" album instead of the blehfest that was "Give It To Me" (I still like the song, though). Completely agree here, 'Give It To Me' is a bit of a borefest in comparison. 166 Reverend & The Makers 'Heavyweight Champion of the World' - Where have they gone? Their two singles, this and "He Said He Loved Me" were such a breathe of fresh air! They did release a second album in the summer, but it was pretty much ignored. I can't say I'm overly surprised though, the singles were ok but they struck me as a band that would only be successful for the moment. 3 The Killers 'Mr Brightside' - :yahoo: Best song of the decade for me! Good to see! :D Thanks for the comment, good to see you liking so many, more than I thought if I'm honest! ^_^
December 7, 200915 yr Author Right, I need to reply to the Dandy... 100 Howling Bells 'Setting Sun' Quite liked this if I recall, don't think I've ever paid it too much attention though. :( You should've done, I think you'd like it! 98 Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' Back to loving this again after a couple of years of overkill. Such a 00s anthem, still sounds as good now too. Yeah I definitely played this too much, luckily it's not something you still hear that often so I can still love it now. 92 Missy Elliott 'Gossip Folks' Love it! Yet another one of the less obvious ones to make my list - of which there's a couple more still to come. I think this is fantastic, Missy Elliott has always been a bit hit and miss for me but when she's on form she's brilliant. 91 Idlewild 'American English' This is decent enough but I find the band a bit samey after a while. My favourites of theirs are from their 90s albums. I think their first three albums are all brilliant, this was the song that first got me into them. It's certainly more mellow than previous stuff, but it's no bad thing. Yeah, the version on the album is a massive improvement to what I heard on the radio when it was out. 89 Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Maps' Brilliant song, one which I only discovered far later than I should have done. You didn't know this when it was out?! :o 78 Bright Eyes 'If The Brakeman Turns My Way' Lovely track, a former #1 for me. I doubt I'd ever have known this if you hadn't have sent it to me. 72 Camera Obscura 'Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken' We're in rather a long run of bold tracks now... this is great and the album is too, this year's follow up is one of the most disappointing things I've heard all year though. I definitely agree with that. I've never heard 'Let's Get Out of the Country' but I downloaded this years album. It went nowhere. I imagine that would be good, the strings on it are wonderful. 59 Idlewild 'These Wooden Ideas' I didn't realise this was from the 00s, this is one of the tracks I was talking about when I said I preferred their 90s material! :D Its parent album was released in 2000, but the singles from it were split between '99 and '00! 56 Los Campesinos! 'You! Me! Dancing!' I do like these but I'm beginning to find them a bit too samey, I'm hoping they'll really change their sound on the next album. So am I, but going by 'There Are Listed Buildings' I can't see it happening, it's ok but I've heard it all before on their first two albums. I hope you comment on my top 50 and that you post any lists you make on here. :( :)
December 7, 200915 yr Author So, you want to see the same acts in a different order? Follow my albums of the decade. :kink: I shall start my top 100 in detail later in the week, however I shall post the 50 that didn't quite made it tomorrow.

December 8, 200915 yr Author Linkin Park yaay. It's a decent album to be fair. 'One Step Closer', 'Points of Authority', 'In the End', 'Cure For the Itch'.
December 8, 200915 yr Bloc Party is OK, by far their weakest imo. My third favourite Coldplay album. System Of A Down is decent, has a couple of great tracks, but a few weak ones aswell. Futureheads is very good, think it is my least fave of their albums though.

December 8, 200915 yr Author Bloc Party is OK, by far their weakest imo. My third favourite Coldplay album. System Of A Down is decent, has a couple of great tracks, but a few weak ones aswell. Futureheads is very good, think it is my least fave of their albums though. I agree with all of these! :D The other two Bloc Party album won't be appearing for a while... there are still two Coldplay albums and The Futureheads other two don't appear for a long while either. I have three SOAD albums and I like them all, but I don't listen to them much any more (iTunes says 18 months). I still felt that 'Mesmerize' deserved a place as I listened to it so much at the time. 'BYOB', 'Revenga', 'Radio/Video', 'Lost In Hollywood'. I never quite liked 'Toxciity' (although it's best songs are better) and 'Hypnotize' as much.
December 8, 200915 yr Music Hole is decent...probably the most surprising #1 album to date in my chart  nice to see Alright Still in there, it's in my top 50 of the decade, I have no problems admitting that, I don't agree with thisispop's view that it was all filler apart from the singles, I know every word from every song on the album I think
December 8, 200915 yr Author The singles weren't even the strongest songs on 'Alright, Still'. I think it's madness to suggest something as dull as 'Littlest Things' is amongst the best 25% of that album. :| I really like Camille's album, but it does go a bit filler-y towards the end and lasts a bit too long. That said there are 4 or 5 great songs on it on top of 'Money Note'.
