November 8, 200915 yr Yes I think it is the best debut this year. Maybe :) WOAH! Which guy was he? Was he Cosmo? nah he wasnt cosmo lol, he is seen for a few seconds dancing a bit silly. but yeah he is good mates with Frank and is directing the next video and had directed long live the queen which is pretty cool, he is a pretty cool guy actually, I bumped into him during The Gaslight Anthem at Reading this year after not seeing him for over a year (since I left school) and he was just like 'THIS IS MY FAVOURITE BAND EVER' and he was in the pit most the time, he was a bit of an arsey teacher sometimes though, but he knows God Frank Turner so he has a cool factor.

The Futureheads with their finest and a great indie record. Biffy Clyro were amazing as is being proved in this, their second entry. Stars also with their best, remarkable. Shoes and Socks Off this time with the same songs from his first album in the countdown but with a full band, even better. Colour, who have split up, released this which contains all of the work from their EPs fantastic stuff but a shame they're gone. Rx Bandits with the only slice of Ska on this list, they are fantastic chekc them out. 'Discovery' is a much lauded album and it really does deserve it, the top dance record for me. The Killers with their best album to date, soundtrack to my winter of 2006. Oceansize with an album thats shortest song is 6:42 but it is truly stunning. Finally Forward Russia appear again with their superior first album back when they still just numbered their songs. tcsjQ2ebsco ZnnqlHNpr6M Edited November 10, 200915 yr by Ashford.
November 8, 200915 yr Comments on albums I've heard / heard parts of: 80 | Stars - Nightsongs - one of my faves EVER I think. 76 | Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend - think this has held up pretty well over the last year or so. Still really like. 75 | Coldplay - Parachutes - I've heard it (ages ago) but it all kinds of blends into one for me. 73 | The Cribs - Mens Needs, Womens Needs, Whatever - my favourite album of 2007. Probably don't like it as much now as I did then but still has some amazing songs on it. 71 | Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger - stunningggggggggggggggggggggg. 'Gone Missing' is my fave from it. 70 | Arcade Fire - Neon Bible - think I am the only person in the world who prefers this over their debut. 69 | TV On The Radio - Dear Science - despite repeated listens I couldn't get into this (save 'Dancing Choose' which I though was pretty good). 63 | Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight - my favourite album of 2k8. Woowoo. 62 | White Lies - To Lose My Life - never got into this. Don't really like anything from it anymore... 61 | Stars - In Our Bedroom After The War - love this album. 57 | Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare - pretty amazing album as well. My 2nd best of 2007. 55 | Muse - Black Holes & Revelations - not a fan really but I have heard this before. 'Invincible' is my favourite song from this and probably my fave from them ever. 50 | The Futureheads - The Futureheads - I don't like anything from this band before their new album. 48 | Stars - Set Yourself On Fire - another great Stars album. 43 | The Killers - Sam's Town - used to proper love this. I don't really like this anymore though the title track is stunning I think (especially the Abbey Road version).
November 8, 200915 yr 50 | The Futureheads - The Futureheads yet again, you go up in my estimations. when i do my greatest albums of the decade, this will probaly be top 10. The Futureheads are easily my favourite indie band (shortly followed by Bloc Party), I have listened to this album maybe 50 times? possibly more, still love it, know every single word, in fact im near enough a Futureheads LOON. This is my fav album by them aswell, I would go name my favourite tracks, but tbh it would be most of them, such a good album.

November 9, 200915 yr Hii, thought I'd comment because your taste in music seems somewhat similar to mine... 100| Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights 99 | Jay-Z - The Blueprint 95 | The Killers - Day & Age 94 | Tokyo Police Club - Elephant Shell 93 | Muse - The Resistance 92 | M.I.A. - Kala 91 | Kasabian - Kasabian I've never really GOT LC! for some reason. They're one of the bands which I always think I should like, but for some reason I don't. Odd. Tokyo Police Club are a band I've been meaning to look up/listen to for an AGE but still haven't got around to it yet...as for the Killers, I was extremely disappointed with 'Day & Age', wasn't keen on many of the songs at all really, I'm afraid. =[ Great to see Interpol, Jay-Z, Muse (although I'm not too keen on the Resistance) and M.I.A. in there! (Especially M.I.A.) 90 | Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz! 86 | The Libertines - Up The Bracket 84 | Sufjan Stevens - Illinois All three of those are brilliant albums. 'Up The Bracket' is in my top 5 albums of all time and 'It's Blitz!' is probably in my top 3 albums of the year. 78 | Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way 76 | Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend 75 | Coldplay - Parachutes 73 | The Cribs - Mens Needs, Womens Needs, Whatever 71 | Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger Another good set of albums. Especially VW and The Cribs. Really liked A Certain Trigger' at the time too, although I've gone off Maximo Park recently, as I wasn't keen on their most recent album at all. That doesn't deny the greatness of ACT though. 70 | Arcade Fire - Neon Bible 69 | TV On The Radio - Dear Science 64 | Jay-Z - The Black Album 62 | White Lies - To Lose My Life Arcade Fire. I wish they'd hurry up and release some new music! It's been too long. I'm with Jonny, I much prefer 'Neon Bible' to their debut. 'Intervention' is especially sublime. 60 | The Libertines - The Libertines 57 | Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare 56 | Biffy Clyro - Blackened Sky 55 | Muse - Black Holes & Revelations I've always slightly preferred 'Up the Bracket', but 'The Libertines' is still an amazing album. As for Arctic Monkeys, FWN is definitely my favourite of their albums. Every song on there is perfect. Especially 'Brianstorm' though - WHAT A SONG. Good to see a bit of Biffy too. 'Blackened Sky' is a brilliant album. 27 and 57  50 | The Futureheads - The Futureheads 49 | Biffy Clyro - The Vertigo Of Bliss 44 | Daft Punk - Discovery 43 | The Killers - Sam's Town 41 | ¡Forward, Russia! - Give Me A Wall Five brilliant albums there. 'Sam's Town' is by far my favourite album from the Killers (although I realise most people prefer 'Hot Fuss'). It's a great album, which I think is probably why I was so disappointed with 'Day & Age'. As for the other albums, all great. Especially 'Vertigo of Bliss' and 'Discover'. Great chart so far! Basically all the albums I've commented on would be in my top 100 albums of the decade too. Hopefully some Bloc Party is still to come...

November 9, 200915 yr Author 40 | Biffy Clyro - Infinity Land http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/BBQCD238.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Glitter and Trauma, There's No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake, My Recovery Injection My Favourite Biffy Clyro album then makes the top 40, 'Glitter and Trauma' may be the best thing they've ever done and this album is fantastic from start to finish. It loses none of the energy of Vertigo of Bliss and adds something extra. This is perhaps their happy medium as it combines the passion, musicianship and non-cheesiness of their earlier albums and combines it with a slightly poppier edge in parts. 39 | Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/9362477552.JPG Favourite Tracks :: One Step Closer, In The End, Papercut Now Linkin Park with an album of my past and the first album ever bought with my own money and it is a testament to it's quality that it still remains this high up in my opinions. The best thing they have ever done by some distance it has some quite simply badass moments like 'One Step Closer', he seems to get more angry with his vocals in this one which pays off and I still like the rapping bits. Too bad their new stuff is pure cheese. 38 | Los Campesinos! - We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEBB187CD.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Ways To Make It Through The Wall, We Are Beautiful We Are Doomed, You'll Need Those Fingers For Crossing Although I liked Los Campesinos! first album it seemed to be missing something for me, this album added that something and it was truly marvellous. This albums seems more passionate, frantic and rowdier. Shouting wins for this band and 'Ways To Make It Through The Wall' remains my favourite track by them. 37 | Frank Turner - Sleep Is For The Week http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/XMR004CD.JPG Favourite Tracks :: The Ballad Of Me And My Friends, The Real Damage, Father's Day Frank Turner's first album then becomes his 2nd entry in the chart, while it may not have the complete sing-along package in some songs taht he is famous for it remains an album that is personal, passionate and really showcases his songwriting ability. To see the different sides to this album you just need to listen to 'Father's Day', a song wrought with personal issues and emotion, then 'The Ballad Of Me And My Friends' for in fact one of his best sing-alongs. 36 | Yourcodenameis:milo - All Roads To Fault http://images.musicnet.com/albums/004/788/091/c.jpeg Favourite Tracks :: All Roads To Fault, The Problem, Lions Then The Donkeys Finally an entry from these guys, it may only be seven tracks long but boy does it pack a punch. Opener 'All Roads To Fault' is one of my favourite of theirs and should surely have been HUGE! They really were a truly remarkable band (last album didn't live up to the standards of the others unfortunately) but I was still gutted when they split. November 9, 200915 yr 40 | Biffy Clyro - Infinity Land 39 | Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory 38 | Los Campesinos! - We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed 37 | Frank Turner - Sleep Is For The Week 36 | Yourcodenameis:milo - All Roads To Fault S0sYJSibVZ8 i remember that FT performance  i star in that vid guyz... as a dot. Infinity Land was alright, but Blackened Sky is better, but i literally cant listen to them these days. Hybridy Theory, what a classic, if it came out now i'd probaly hate them, but nostalgia wins them over for me. LC! album is alright, Sleep is For The Week is amazing, as is All Roads To Fault. AND WERE DEFINATLY GOING TO HELL BUT WE'LL HAVE ALL THE BEST STORIES TO TELL.
November 9, 200915 yr Author Shame you can't listen to them, they're still fantastic. I think it may be a bit of nostalgia for Hybrid Theory, not sure what would happen if it were released now. November 9, 200915 yr Author 35 | Metric - Live It Out http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/DIS0020.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Poster Of A Girl, Live It Out, Monster Hospital I didn't appreciate this album as much as I do now for a long time, I used to think it was by far their weakest but it now stands up to their other work and is better than GU&BA for me. It has some great tracks and I'm surprised Monster Hospital didn't make the band that much bigger, as Fantasies has now done. Emily Haines can do no wrong. 34 | Bloc Party - Intimacy http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEBB185CDLI.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Ion Square, Ares, Talons, Your Visits Are Getting Shorter Bloc Party's much discussed third album now then, miles better than the 2nd in my opinion and a truly great piece of work. Their new direction may have lost them some fans but I am enjoying it and I hope I get to see another album by them. Ion Square is a 6 minute long masterpiece, love it. 33 | Reuben - In Nothing We Trust http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n99/ashford57/innothingwetrust.jpg Favourite Tracks :: Good Luck, An Act Of Kindness, Agony/Agatha, Blood Bunny Larkhall I f***ing love Reuben, they make me wanna f***ing swear, their second album wasn't that great but this third and final album by the three-piece made up for that as it is awesome. The best track on it surprisingly is the more low-key, acoustic 'Good Luck' which is sublime. Packed with great sing-alongs and just pure kickassism it truly deserves it's place this high. 32 | Brand New - Daisy http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/BRANDDAISY.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Vices, In A Jar, Daisy, Noro An album from this year makes it to the heady heights of #32, Brand New returned this year which I was like totally super excited about you guyz, anyway they returned with 'Daisy'. When I saw the title I was abit like o_o and the intro to Vices played and I was like "what is this bull?" and then it kicked in and I was like "YEH! MOTHERFUKKIN HARDCORE!!". The End. 31 | Radiohead - Amnesiac http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/697105.JPG Favourite Tracks :: Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box, Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army?, I Might Be Wrong Radiohead's alternative Kid A then next, it is awesome and has a couple of their best songs in my opinion, can't think of what to say now but it is really good trust me. Oh my favourite track is 'Packt Like Sardines In A Crushd Tin Box' glitchy awesomeness that only Radiohead can deliver. AWq9Y6o2UOw 2Mc6JKM_YkQ Edited November 10, 200915 yr by Ashford.

November 9, 200915 yr Author Thanks for the comment Chris, I don't really like AWitC it has a few good songs but that's it. I also have to voice my hate for Universal Music, why disable embedding on all your videos? A number of other official videos from artists and labels don't do it. Friggin cocks.
