Gary Neville - he's the most experienced after all...

It is a three horse race between Gary Neville, John Terry & Steven Gerrard.

I think Steve McLaren should give the honour to John Terry.

As I think Steven Gerrard is too closely associated & passionate about Liverpool. Likewise Gary Neville with Manchester Utd.

JT

Stevie isn't really THAT experienced and lthough he's popular he just hasn't got the certain spark and presence about him that a captain needs.

Gary Neville can be quite hot-headed as well. Although he is experienced he hasn't really got the right temperament for an England Captain.

I would prefer Stevie G to get it, but I think JT is a cert to get it. Both are great captains and both deserve the armband.

Neville woul make a good captain ebcuase of his experience but there should be a new era under McLaren, which means he should look to the future and offer the team stabillity which would mean make JT or Stevie G captain as I doubt Neville will be around for on the international stage for much longer.

Michael Owen should be captain

deff not wayne rooney

I don't think Owen would make a good captain, as he hasn't got the cutting leadership to him and plus he's a striker and normally striker's don't make good captains.

Stevie G would be the best choice but anyone of Neville, him and Terry would be great.

He's too old. They're not going to give it to someone who'll probably retire in two years, it would be pointless!

You'd think that, but knowing McLaren -_- .

It is gonna be a very difficult choice to decide who should be the captain in the longrun; Gerrard or Terry. Both give everything they have for there country and club and both captain their clubs and both have add sucess.

Well Gerrard will get the first chance as Terry is suspended for our first qualifier...

Good point. I forogt all about Terry's suspension.

John Terry

Many of this line up should be dropped until they are fit enough to play 120 minutes of football in humid conditions.

gary neville cause of his experience
Theo, miss a generation, look to the future, couldn't care really

Question:

Who was sent off for England in 1998 when we went out on penalties in the Quarter-Final of the World Cup & became our captain for the 2002 World Cup?

Answer: David Beckham.

Therefore using the same logic - let's make Wayne Rooney captain. :P
