Posted July 2, 200619 yr [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylMqeyMgsxs.swf Here is the incident where Rooney got sent off - as confirmed by FIFA - for pushing Cristiano Ronaldo away. As the Argentine ref did NOT see Wayne Rooney "stamp" on Carvalho, then FIFA are investigating that incident and his one match ban could well get increased. This video includes includes Alan Shearer's legendary comments about Ronaldo & includes his wink to the Portuguese bench and his headbutt on Rooney BEFORE the start of the match. It is probably just as well that Cristiano Ronaldo's agent has confirmed today that his client has put in a transfer request from Manchester Utd.
July 2, 200619 yr Still I am shocked Shearer recommended Rooney thumped Ronaldo. What exactly will that achieve? Sweet F.A.
July 2, 200619 yr People are saying Ronaldo is a trater and shouldn't of done that to a team mate. But the thing is they may both play for united but they do play for diffrent international team. Ronaldo isn't a trater, he and Rooney were on opposing teams last night so he isnt being a trater. I am shore England fans wouldn't be saying Rooney was a trater if it had been the other way round on the night or if Ronaldo had done it for Man U in the champions league final.

He's a TRAITOR for the way he's handled everything with the Real Madrid presidential candidate to bugger off to Real Madrid -_-
July 2, 200619 yr I'm sorry how is he a tratier, i don't rember seeing Ronaldo in an England shirt last night
July 2, 200619 yr I love how all these presenters go COMPLETELY unproffesional and say things like how Rooney should punch him  Comedy of the FINEST art.
July 2, 200619 yr I'm sorry how is he a tratier, i don't rember seeing Ronaldo in an England shirt last night Him being a traitor isn't anything to do with the match last night as I said ;)
July 2, 200619 yr He's a TRAITOR for the way he's handled everything with the Real Madrid presidential candidate to bugger off to Real Madrid -_- Thats will happen. There's no way Ronaldo could go back to Man Utd as he'd get lynched. I'm gueesing that he hates England and sort of got one over on us by having a hand in getting us knocked out of the World Cup -_- .
July 2, 200619 yr I hope he meets an English team in the Champions League though. Preferabely Man United :D Ronaldo down the right wing against Gary Neville? Hmm.
July 2, 200619 yr Well, if the Man Utd fans turn on Ronaldo then they're a bunch of ungrateful b/astards with incredibly short memories, he's been instrumental in getting them god knows how many wins in the Premiership and trophies and whatnot... He doesn't need Man U, I'm sure that Rangers of Celtic would jump at the chance of having a player of his undisputed calibre on board, and he'd be given a hero's welcome in Glasgow that's for sure....

Oh please, and Wayne Rooney just totally losing it and acting like the thug he is, letting down his captain and his deluded fans, and Sven's incredibly dimwitted "tactics" had absolutely no bearing in England crashing out.... Put the blame where it really lies for once.....
July 2, 200619 yr The blame lies at RONALDO for provoking Rooney. ROONEY for doing it and SVEN for being $h!t. Edited July 2, 200619 yr by RabbitFurCoat
July 2, 200619 yr The thing is though, Rooney didn't get sent of for the stamp, he got sent off for the push which would never have happened if Ronaldo didn't start waving an imaginary card to the ref.
July 2, 200619 yr The blame lies at RONALDO for provoking Rooney. ROONEY for doing it and SVEN for being $h!t. No, the blame lies with ROONEY first and foremost, for being such a pillock and allowing a wind-up merchant to get to him.... He's supposed to be a friggin' professional..... Sven gets the blame for being sh!t as you say, I mean, only taking FOUR strikers, two of whom were questionable because of injuries and one who wasn't even a Premiership player....
July 3, 200619 yr He's supposed to be a friggin' professional..... As is Ronaldo, but all he does is DIVES and tries to get people sent off. The majority of the country are partly blaming him, and rightly so. He's one of the biggest cheats ever to have played football. Sven gets the blame for being sh!t as you say, I mean, only taking FOUR strikers, two of whom were questionable because of injuries and one who wasn't even a Premiership player.... And also for being tactically inept, over-paid and just generally not having a clue with substitutions. The ONLY thing I would give him vredit for in this world cup is sticking with Hargreaves and actually giving him a chance because he was certainly one of our best players and deserves to keep his place, probably ahead of Lampard. Lennon should be someone that plays a fairly large part in every game but you could tell that he would never have brought him on yesterday had Beckham not got injured, not for a while after anyway. I'm SO glad he's gone now. We have the best squad since we won the damn thing yet every tournament is just a wasted opportunity. The only problem is now, is that the core of the squad will all be around 30 at the next world cup and it may be too late. :( I just hope we can win Euro 2008!

You have a good squad, a very good squad in fact, but not better than Argentina, sorry, but they showed a lot more than you guys did throughout, and the only reason they lost was, again, because of tactical stupidity on the part of the manager. Dunno what the hell Peckerhead - oops, sorry, I meant to say Peckerman - was thinking of when he took of Crespo and Riquelme and left probably the tournament's best player on the sodding bench for the majority of Argentina's total match time.... So stupid.... That would be like having Maradonna as a sub in '86 really wouldn't it....? Germany didn't win that game (considering Argentina dominated proceedings for 75 mins...), Argentina lost it by the manager making grievous tactical errors.... I'm not really one to subscribe to conspiracy theories, but Peckerhead (god, there I go again, I obviously meant to say Peckerman....) is a German isn't he....? Hmm, makes you wonder, especially given that he quit the job soon after....... <_<
July 3, 200619 yr Oh I don't think we have a better squad than the Argies but it's certainly OUR best squad since '66. There aren't many players that could get in their line-up. Gerrard and Terry would and possibly Ashley Cole, but then Sorin is also a fantastic left-back, probably two of the best 3 or 4 in the world.
July 3, 200619 yr Sven has revealed the card was for the stamp, he shouldn't have done it. The blame lies with him imo, Ronaldo may have said something to the ref but overall I don't think that would influence his decision. He's been sent off, everyone needs to just accept that. He will get punished and Ronaldo won't by Fifa.

He will get punished and Ronaldo won't by Fifa. It wasn't. FIFA confirmed it was for the push and were going to punish again for the stamp. Then they backtracked and said the stamp was what he got a red for. And also, if it was for the stam, why didn't the ref send him off there and then. He was right infront of Rooney but did nothing for about 5 seconds. Then Ronaldo comes over demanding a card, because he's a CHEAT, and Rooney pushed him. Then the ref sent him off. It was not for the stamp, it was for the push. 100% guarenteed!

It's still two bookable offences though in quick succession, the amount of dissent he was showing was also a factor as well, if he'd just walked away instead of being a fukkwit and rising to the bait, I reckon he'd've got away with a yellow for the stamp
