Can anyone please answer me a question or 2 !

Within itunes you can download individual album tracks and these sometime appear in the itunes pop bars and itunes chart. Is this a correct assumption on my part ?

If 1 such track was very popular on iTunes but had not been released as a single at the time can it chart in the 'proper' chart or is it didcounted from main chart until such time that it is released as an official single ?

Album tracks appear on the iTunes charts, yes, that's correct. Sometimes that's why you can see multiple entries of the same song.

 

And yes, album tracks are eligible for the official chart. Just an example: Cheryl Cole's 3 Words is number 30 in the official charts as an album track (hasn't been released yet as a single)

Britney's song is quite good... but far from her best. Definately doesn't deserve to finish above About a Girl come Sunday!

Thanks Ben. i'd sort of worked it out from reading back over and looking at past charts etc but just wanted clarification. I wonder what effect the X Factor factor can have on an unreleased song next week (Shakira's, Did it Again) ?
