I am shocked too. I do not know what is going on with this country. It is bizzaire to say the least. Apparently JLS sold just over 5K to get to #1 last week here, so sales are very low, so you would expect Robbie higher. I don't get it. If he announced he was playing Croker tickets would sell out quicker than anyone bar U2 - so the Irish record buying puble are very fickle and were obviously put off by Rudebox. Without any tour it will continue to fall. Oh well, at least he is #1 Worldwide and in Europe, in the long run Irish sales are so small considering he has sold 55 million it doesnt really matter. Still very annoyed about it though.

UK sales should be around 90K or so this week - he sold 300K in 10 days which I am very pleased with. With first week sales alone it is the 34th biggest seller of the year and sold nearly half of what the 5th best selling album of the year did to date. Shows how impressive the first week sales were and how low sales are overall this year.

Overall in Ireland I think CD sales are way down & have been for the last couple of years...

Have you looked at the stock of CD's in HMV recently ..( especially the chart albums ) ....it's all about bloody perception ....they just buy a small amount of stock & half the shelves are filled with black plastic blocks a couple of inches thick that support the albums on the shelves & make the stock quantities look bigger than it actually is.......

They had only about 6 RKTVS cd''s left on the shelves ....still knowing the state of the charts in this country the number 1 album most likely only sold 1,000 units

<_<

Rudebix definitly did damage robbie in ireland i think, as prior to that robbie sold more cd;s in ireland than anywhere else when per capita was taking into account, if jls took number 1 with 5,000 sales what does that say for robbie?

In my local tesco the robbie cd was well stocked up and had alot more stock than jls, jls was sold out and robbie had loads of cd;s left.

5,000...... that leaves me totally speechless....

I am not sure if the record companies are even disclosing accurate overall sales figures for albums these days as they have to portray an image that says everything is alright when it obviously is not.

I do believe that if Robbie wants backing from any investors then he is going to have to tour because that is where the big bucks are.....no investor is going to hand out advances to an artist just for selling albums as the revenue from album sales must seem like petty cash these days :)

sooooooooooooooooooooo do we see Robbie do something with TT & then take to the road again at some date in the future.... ^_^ ...

Gary Barlow said that TT are not going to tour again for well over a year. A lot can happen in that time so I'd imagine that they'll never perform together again (although they may appear on stage again at the Brits 2010). They may record something for 'personal satisfaction' together ... but I doubt they'll ever be together on a stage again.

You know I never doubt anything anymore because I always end up getting it wrong anyway ;)

Gary B said 'substantial'.......sooooooooooooooooooo !!!! what exactly does the word substantial entail B)

If the Times article is anything to go by & TT are mentioned in that article maybe a lot of things are going on behind the scenes that we know nothing about ...you know ' talks about talks ' etc

something is afoot & that is for certain -_-

I remember Gary saying years ago (after TT got re-established this time - but well before they'd supposedly 'kissed and made up' with Rob) that if they were to do anything with Rob ... he'd prefer it to be more in the writing/recording department ... rather than personal appearances. Whatever he meant by that I'm not sure ... maybe he was just talking $h!t!

Text message from Jups, she says:

Robbie beat JLS and was number 1 in the Scottish album charts http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/musik/g038.gif

oh, and she doesn't blame the English, the Welsh or Gordon Brown at all ;)

Great news Spark... ;)

It seems according to Scotty who knows everything chart wise that JLS sold 5,000 copies in Ireland to get to number 1 ( how emarrassing is that figure ) & Robbie even sold less which is twice as embarrassing  ...soooooooooooooooooooooooo I am wondering if Jups has any actual figures for the Scottish charts B)

so far Reality sold another 61k (latest update) I wish he would come close to 100k again.. its quite shocking that reality will drop to #4 this week..

I am not that surprised Stevvy ....Robbie gets very little airplay in Ireland these days & his fanbase in the UK seems to have dropped dramatically as well

Having said that RKTVS is still No 1 worldwide & that iswhat is important expecially thses days with illegal downloading etc...I think overall the number of units sold in comparison to even 2006 will be well down.....that is just the way it is in the music industry these days.....albums makes little impact cash wise...the big bucks are in touring & ironically that is the very thing Robbie no longer it seems wnats to do ....

interesting times ahead ;)

The album drops to four to sold what I expected it to - between 80-90K. Sales were 85,724 bringing the 2 week total to 323,849. I'm very pleased with these sales - it is already top 25 best sellers of the year and should overtake Rudebox in no time. :D

Bodies sales are just under 195K, and YKM's total is over 30K for 2 weeks. It's not released properly for another 3 weeks so it could well be his best selling second single since Kids. :D

That is not what I said and you know it missy :nono:

hopefully sales stay above 50k
Number 25 in Ireland this week down 11 places.

Whya am I not surprised....Ireland is all Robbied out & has been for some time B)

They have - sales were 56K this week at #9 bringing the total to just under 380,000 for three weeks. It is close to being top 15 albums of the year after only 3 weeks and should overtake Rudebox's 3 year total within the next 3-4 weeks ^_^

Album sales have really plummeted haven't they? Faster broadband is to blame. All those illegal downloads <_<
