sales are really good... compared to its position...

it'll break 400,000 sold in its 4th week.. thats good... but we have to face it, that his popularity has decreased in the uk massively.

btw its platinum in Germany (200,000 copies shipped)... in the first week.

The UK is a very strange market at the moment. People don't seem to stay loyal to an act for very long. A couple of albums then the hype moves on to someone else.

It's a more singles market these days....quick turnover to generate cash ....

that is why it is most important which tracks are picked as singles from an album ....YKM not a good choice <_< wouldn't shift the cat off the front step never mind trying to shift an album off the shelves

should have been one of the more upbeat tracks ..... ;)

If he hadve released something like Difficult For Weirdo's far far less copies of the album wouldve been sold as that has a very Rudebox album sound to it which is the opposite of what the masses want from a Robbie album  YKM was the obvious choice especially during the Xmas period. It will be interestinf how Starstruck performs. Hopefully it gets released around the time of the BRITS.

Ah !!! now I donot' agree with you there Scotty because the second single was not released until well after the album went on sale.....I love DFW , it is a terrific track & would have been a big hit ....why could they not have released Morning Sun even as the second single...it is a fantastic song .... :(

but RW had an amazing string of super-successful releases in the UK (basically from 1997-2005 all his albums were more than just successful)...

^ Yeah I agree, his consistent success with previous albums was unique, and was something no one else had ever done - having six albums to sell at least 2 million in the UK and IC selling near 1.7m. Not even The Beatles achieved that, so the fact he kept that up for so many albums is beyond amazing.

RKTVS looks set to remain in the top 10 going on todays Midweeks after it was 12 on Monday and Tue. Hopefully another 50K + sales this week. :D

I thought it would have zoomed back up the UK charts in the run up to Xmas but I guess not. Has the 'casual' fan deserted him in the UK? For Subo? :puke2: :o

If he manages to stay in the top 10 in the run up to Xmas it would be great as sales will get high overall in the coming weeks. Interesting that Leona's new album is performing quite poorly considering how big her last one was. Robbie's sold far more than her's each week so far.

.. 420-430,000 copies in 4 weeks IS amazing..(reality is not his debut album-hes no new artist... of course all the x factor newbies sell well, but theres only ONE Robbie Williams as unique as his music and persona is, his sales are well better than anybody expected...) OK he's not sellinmg that well in ALL european countries... but he's still the KING of Europe.. Reality's 1x platinum cert for european shipments of 1,000,000 is overdue now...

his shipment for the UK must already be near 600,000 (2x platinum) cause over the counter sales already are exceeding 400,000.. and he received platinum in Germany in the first week, too (200,000)... so he's already shipped 800,000 copies (at least) between UK and Germany alone..

I bet Reality will become top 5 of europes biggest selling albums of the year..

Agreed. It is doing very well, and should be high in the end of year official world chart by the IFPI. In terms of shipped copies, EMI Columbia said it had sold 1,7 million. As we know record company figures are the only official ones and refer to shipped amounts so that is most likely correct. It has definatly shipped 600,000 in the UK. It hasnt been certified yet though, same with Europe where it wouldve shipped well over a million. EMI must've run out of money to pay for it to be certified

Cant find any leaked album chart yet, I hope he managed to stay top 10. Sales should be over 50K either way. He should have no problem making it into the end of year top 10 best sellers :D

The album manages to remain top 10 this week with over 60K sold, so an increase in sales despite the drop of one place. Total sales are now over 440K in the UK placing it in the top 15 albums of 2009. Should easily make top 10 next week :cheer:

YKM drops to #30 with 11k sold. 55K sold overall with downloads. It is released tomorrow but who would know? He shoulve been promoting it this weekend in order for it to go top 10, it will be lucky to go top 20 again at this rate. Although sales are very good overall and it could very well become his biggest selling 2nd single since Kids in 2000 :D

According to the mids the album is top 10 again, so hopefully he will pass the half a million mark this week. Sales usually increase each week up till Xmas, so hopefully he can climb to #9 or higher and sell 70K and then 80-90K next week as all sales rise week before Xmas. You never know, he could sell near 600,000 by the end of the year if sales continue to stay strong :D
