Posted November 12, 200915 yr I've compiled a list of just over 200 songs from 2000-2009 for my Top 200 Songs of the Decade and I'm still in the process of putting things in order and what not... As well, I've completed my list of the Top 10 Worst Songs of the Decade, which I'll begin counting down first very shortly... November 12, 200915 yr Author Top 10 Worst Songs of the Decade 10 R. Kelly: Trapped In The Closet (2005) 7putw2A4FiI In 2005, R. Kelly debuted his 'Trapped In The Closet' urban opera, with various narrative chapters at the VMAs; I remember watching this and thinking "Seriously, is this his actual performance?! What is this?!". This over-the-top, cheese ball fest looks worst than community theatre and it makes no complete sense. I've never been a fan of R. Kelly's music and I actually know few of his songs, but this has to definitely be a low-point in his career. Edited November 12, 200915 yr by West
November 12, 200915 yr Author 09 Mariah Carey: Loverboy (2001) vm0SPTLa23E The lead single to her box office bomb, 'Glitter', 'Loverboy' is pretty much that movie summed up in 4 minutes. Clearly, Mariah is channeling her inner call-girl in the music video, in this over-produced, vomit-inducing pop/hip-hop song. Thankfully though, Mariah gets her act together for one of the biggest comebacks of the decade in 2005. Edited November 12, 200915 yr by West
November 12, 200915 yr Author 08 Jessica Simpson: These Boots Are Made For Walking (2005) DsjGMDJNOMg One of many covers/samples from Jessica Simpson, 'These Boots Are Made For Walking' is possibly one of the worst covers I've heard of all time. Sampling the ultra-cool song by the same name from Nancy Sinatra, Simpson made her version into a country-pop hoedown, in an attempt to broaden her appeal. Instead, she completely gutted the original and pushed herself into oblivion, where she belongs. Shockingly, her sister has an entry in my Top 200 Songs of the Decade :o Edited November 12, 200915 yr by West
November 12, 200915 yr Author 07 Usher: Confessions Part II (2004) 6tFq4NiRfaQ Yet another song where Usher is in some sort of dilemna with a girl and there's drama between them and they try to work it out but things are just never the same...blah, blah, blah.... I seriously think Usher just wants to make music videos of himself half-nekkid and will just sing about any relationship-problem $h!t. I'm not sure why exactly there are parts to the Confession songs, because one part alone is one too many!
November 12, 200915 yr Author 06 Ja Rule f/ Ashanti: Mesmerize (2003) UYjv_BdmwOI In the early part of the decade it seemed like the rule of thumb for pop stars to have Ja Rule in their song and video. With his annoying and signature rap voice (sounding forced), and is probably as ghetto as K-Fed, we can be blessed that his music career has been on the down low in recent years so we won't be subjected to anymore awful collaborations, with the equally terrible Ashanti. November 12, 200915 yr Author 05 Jason Mraz: I'm Yours (2008) JhPzVhkaxIQ There was no escaping this song in 2008/2009, spending over 70 weeks on the Hot 100. I actually enjoyed Jason Mraz's previous singles, but this one was sub-par at best in the beginning. Then radio got a hold of it and would not let this song die. The only other song I heard this much was Natalie Imbruglia's 'Torn', which was still quite palatable after so many listens, but if I have to hear another 'rab-ba, do-ba-do' I will never forgive Jason for making such torturous music. November 12, 200915 yr all of those are awful I agree, although I did used to love I'm Yours before radio slaughtered it :(
November 12, 200915 yr I like These Boots Are Made For Walking especially the video :kink: Agree. 10 R. Kelly: Trapped In The Closet is amazing.
November 12, 200915 yr I liked Boots Are Made For Walking  and My Boo wasnt too bad...and i like Im Yours aswell :(

I liked Boots Are Made For Walking  and My Boo wasnt too bad...and i like Im Yours aswell :( Seems like a lot of people like Jessica Simpson's version...hmm, I suggest listening to the original Nancy Sinatra version, it's amazing!
November 13, 200915 yr Author From the list of artists, your chart looks very promising! :wub:Thanks, I'm trying to make my Top 200 as diverse as possible.
November 13, 200915 yr Author 04 Creed: With Arms Wide Open (2000) uzFoTwils6Q Here's a low-rent version of Pearl Jam, singing about over the top Christian values! Creed's 'With Arms Wide Open' returned rock music to the top of the Hot 100, but this wasn't what I had in mind. I'm positive anyone can mimic the vocals of this song by Scott Stapp, and do it better than he did. People of the UK, be thankful you weren't subjected (at least not as much) to this garbage in the early 2000's.
November 13, 200915 yr Author 03 Beyonce: Ring The Alarm (2006) qWKdVhwvLoE Releasing B-Day in 2006, Beyonce's new album was apparently written/produced/recorded in 3 weeks. And it showed. Second single, 'Ring The Alarm' was an aggressive screaming match that was rumoured to be about her partner Jay-Z. With such a mediocre song (just like 'Deja Vu'), it seemed that Beyonce went from trendsetter to follower. The fact the video is based on the film 'Basic Instinct' just left you longing the days of the 'Crazy In Love' era. Edited November 13, 200915 yr by West
November 13, 200915 yr Author 02 50 Cent: In Da Club (2003) IZ0-JA6K0Dw He was shot 9 times! He was shot 9 times! How many times did you hear that in 2003? Instead of rapping, Fiddy mumbles his way through this song, another generic and overrated track about a clubbing or something I don't care about. Greatest rap song of all-time?! No, not by a long shot.
November 13, 200915 yr Author 01 Nickelback: How You Remind Me (2001) 2y50s6-8S0g This decade brought us amazing Canadian acts, such as Arcade Fire, Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne and Metric. Unfortunately, the most successful (sales-wise) of them all were.....Nickelback. Lead singer, Chad Kroeger, sings with a mouth full of gravel, their songs lack originality and they are possibly the least interesting band in the industry. Starting with 'How You Remind Me', nearly all of their latter singles are just recycled derivatives of this poor-excuse of a rock song. What's even worst is that these guys think they are single-handedly saving rock music?! When will casual music buyers finally wake-up and stop buying this $h!t!

November 13, 200915 yr I hate all of your worst Top 10 tracks of the decade, even if I slightly admire R. Kelly's Trapped In The Closet for its sheer ludicrousness.
